    Royal Noble Consort Jang Hui Bin, she wasn't as bad as everyone thinks, the truth is that she was a victim of the political struggles in the palace between the two parties, being used as a political puppet, that ended up making her a "Femme Fatale" as the koreans say.

      Mostly because the king in question decided the best way to deal with the political factionalism was to constantly switch his support between the two big factions so neither could get too powerful. It worked, but at the expense of many people’s lives.

      It's her choice to be a puppet and so called a bad consort. She's a brilliant and intelligent lady but her greed and her family's ambition brought her in her situation.

    No Korean Queen suffered more than Queen Soseong/Inmok, her Father, Mother, brothers were executed, her son seven year old son was poisoned by Northerns. And she was confined to her chambers of false charges. However, a coup overthrow the King, with the main reason for disrespect to the Queen Dowager, and she was reinstated and promoted to Grand Queen. But that still wouldn't undo all the evil that was done to her.

      Also she and hers only remain daughter Princess Jeongmyeong (정명공주 ) had a ordinary life being dragged against their will outside of the palace to the extern palace for years untill them come back for the palace by Injo King , but also queen inmok still protecting hers daughter till the end of hers life, a curiosity is that princess jeongmyeong is the princess who lived the longest, being the daughter of a queen, dying at the age of 82, and the princess who lived the longest being the daughter of a concubine was princess Deok Hye .

      Dong Yi ofc is not 100% accurate. They had to alter some facts for entertainment value. But the portrayal of Dong Yi's character being a good-hearted person is correct. The King's harem was given a temple name that signifies their main character/personality, Dong Yi was given the name "Suk" which means pure and Jang Ok Jung was given the name "Hee" which means beauty. It is said that Heebin was the most beautiful lady during her time.

    How can you explain that witchcraft was considered a bad thing in both Western and Asian cultures?

    • @kyra5858
      @kyra5858 Před rokem

      bc when witchcraft was used, it was always used to cause harm to the others. it was used so ur ennemis could lost their babies, their family, so they can become ugly, or fell sick or die. it wasn't for good things, and witchcraft has always been used for bad things in ALL the cultures. so of course it's not something that is autorised. even if it's used for something like being able to bear a child, or gaining favors, there will always be evil that will be done for the spell to be done. like there's a price to pay. a sacrifice to make. it is also something forbidden by religions so it is quite normal that it is frowned upon. it causes a lot of damage! the magic must be stopped!!! it's something that has been banned over the years and it should stay that way. STAY AWAY FROM MAGIC AND NEVER PRACTICE IT UNDER ANY CONDITIONS

    • @zoaze1
      @zoaze1 Před 5 měsíci

      @@rosalinda9236 Jang Ok Jung is based on a novel. I would say Dong Yi is closer to the truth than JOJ. On Suk-bin(Dong Yi) memorial tablet it was written : "Her disposition and her status was absolutely indivisible. She did not scruple on people. She was respectful and always waited on Queen Inhyeon and later on Queen Inwon. Her wisdom and intelligence shone in her interaction with others. She kept to her duty and protocol. She never entered in palace disputes. She spent her days in peace and harmony.".
      Dong Yi drama is based on the real person, but ofcourse we don't know much about her. Because she came from the slave class. We would have known more if she was from a noble family probably.
