Penn State football opened up its doors for the first time since spring football broke for the summer to meet with the media. As is their tradition, head coach James Franklin and his ten assistants spoke with the media for roughly an hour. This year the media session coincided with the annual Lift for Life Charity event put on by Uplifting Athletes.

    Team leadership still in focus
One of Franklin's reoccuring themes since February has been player-led leadership for his Penn State Nittany Lion in 2024. He addressed the topic last week with Nate Bauer in an exclusive interivew and the topic came up again on Thursday.
It's also a summer tradition to foucs on the passing game, which struggled last season to find consistent rhythm and effectiviness. Franklin had this to say.

6:32 I really hope we see Nick Singleton break off more big runs this season. That was sorely missed. But also the offense as a whole. It was so boring to watch our offense last year. I’m looking forward to see how much better our offense will be👀

I agree 100%. Very disappointed with the "sleeper" offense last season. After the likes of Trace McSorley, quarterback play was boring.

Hopefully, the Penn State Offense can flex out RB Singleton/Quinton Martin, and H-Back/TE Dinkins to create some mismatches that generate explosive plays on the edges, so RB Allen and the TE's can spring some big plays up the middle of the opponents D.
