This song was commissioned by the Dutch government, to be first played on “Remembrance Day”, 1965. The anniversary the 20th anniversary of their liberation during WWII. A haunting transition from “Taps’ played at military funerals. The first public performance was at the cemetery of the Allied Servicemen who died in “Operation Market Garden”.
