    The mask looks very sturdy. I love the idea of a nose wire pocket vs. sewing it in permanently. It gives more of a choice to accommodate people like me who really don't tolerate the wire very well. Thank you for sharing your tutorial. God bless you.

    Can you please show HOW to wear the mask with the soft elastic? Do they just slip over your head and then you put the bottom one under your ears? Genius idea with the added nose wire piece! First time I’ve seen that and I have watched a couple of dozen mask tutorials and made at least 6 different kinds! I have yet to find one that fits without gaps everywhere. Your design looks like the best. Where did you get the soft ties?

    I’ve just made a practice one and it fits much better than many others that I’ve made. Half way through I realised that I mistook the bottom shape for the area that goes over the nose 😅 so had to unpick that. Is the 2ins piece of wire the same recommended size for all the different sizes. Many thanks 🙏🏻 I

      I've done that also. Now, I sew a piece of thread at the nose to mark it until I finish. When the mask is finished, the pleats will be going downward which is a good clue.

    You've left a gap at the bottom edge, presumably for a filter. I would like to have seen how you insert the filter.

    Thanks for the updated video, I really love your masks. I wanted to ask you, is there a different procedure here or its just the same procedure with better shots?

      Same procedure just added the optional filter insert, different elastic or tie options, and the nose wire pocket (so the wire can be removable).

    Could you please have a download printable pattern for EACH size? I tried printing the large size and it's huge. It would really help to be able to just download it. Thank you - your pattern is the only one I make for women, but if I can't get a printable pattern for men, I'll have to use another one.

      maybe you can adjust your printer to copy the pattern at 110% which is the larger size.

    New sewer here: how would I add interfacing? Would I use both cotton fabrics and interfacing?

      Hello, Hope. I’m not Taya, but maybe I can offer some help. I recommend using BOTH cotton fabric (quilters cotton) AND interfacing (a fusible interfacing such as PELLON - midweight). How to add the interfacing: cut out the interfacing using the same pattern pieces as your lining fabric. The instructions for how to fuse it to the fabric are on the PELLON package. (Its very easy - you just need a hot iron and a damp cloth. I usually use a thin washcloth.). Lay the fabric face down on your ironing board, then lay the interfacing on top, then the washcloth. Press the iron down on the washcloth and hold it there for about 10 seconds. Done! I would warn you that fusible interfacing has little “bubbles” on one side. You can feel them with your finger. This is the side that faces your lining material!!! If you do it the wrong way, you’ll fuse the interfacing to your WASHCLOTH!!!! Do these steps BEFORE doing any sewing. Good luck! 🍀

      This would make the mask far less breathable. Cotton fabric is best.

      L 0902 G I think I saw somewhere that ironing on interfacing was not good to breathe through b/c it releases chemicals...? I’m not sure if that’s true or not😞 but interfacing is sold out at my Joann’s. I was lookin for something lighter than the flannel that I’ve been using so I ordered pm filters. I still want to try interfacing if it’s safe

    • @LG-KETO
      @LG-KETO Před 4 lety +1

      Hope: I’m not an expert, but seems to me if you use fusible (iron-on) interfacing, then WASH the mask before wearing, it should be safe. I saw another video where she used a thin “batting”, so that might be an option for you. Interfacing can be purchased online,too. Consider Amazon, EBay, ETSY. I don’t shop at brick & mortar stores if I don’t have to. I’d rather pay shipping and avoid contact in the stores. But you have to do what makes YOU comfortable. Our local JoAnn store NEVER has what I need, anyway. Sorry, I don’t know what pm filters are.
