YES! They actually DO eat dinner in Spain around 10pm! Lol
That's because we have the wrong time zone and in many parts of the south (not in the north, it's been quite cold here since before the end of autumn) if you have dinner at 8 or 9 p.m. it's practically impossible to go to bed until it cools down a bit. But as I say, this happens in the south and the Mediterranean, in the north we have a timetable slightly more in line with what would correspond to our real time zone.
In Mexico we also eat dinner at that time, and we don't have the wrong timezone
We have many hours of light in summer until 22: 30 and 18: 30 aprox in winter (I´m talking about the south where I live). Here shops close around 20: 30-21: 00 and even 22: 00 for hipermarkets, pubs are open until really late. To dinner at 19: 00 for example and go to bed is impossible here.

But i can understand if for example you are Basque, you wouldn't feel identified maybe ,or if you are Catalan.
