    What are some topics you've seen covered on real estate financial modeling interview exams?

    Loved this video! Your courses and content are awesome Justin! Do you happen to have a suggested format or way to describe your courses and what they cover on a resume?

    • @BreakIntoCRE

      Great to hear you're finding the coursework helpful, Mariel! I generally recommend adding the coursework within a "Relevant Coursework", "Technical Skills", or "Certifications" section of your resume, highlighting the specific courses you've taken that show you can do what the job entails. For example, for a multifamily acquisitions analyst role, you might add " _Break Into CRE Coursework: The Real Estate Pro Forma Modeling Master Class | The Real Estate Equity Waterfall Modeling Master Class | The Real Estate Financial Modeling Bootcamp_ " in one of those sections.
      I hope this helps!

    Hey Justin, just finished your CRE financial modeling interview guide and its helped alot. I was wondering though, was the type of model covered within that course a DCF model? If not, do you have a course that covers Real Estate DCF modeling? Thanks man

    Your spreadsheets are super clean and aesthetically pleasing, however, my guess is that this quality is rare lol. BTW, what does "SF" stand for? For example, "Property SF"? Thanks!

      Property Square Footage

      Thanks! @Jalen Chanthaboury is correct - Property SF stands for Property Square Footage.

    Justin. In an instance where someone is tested on excel in an interview for real estate modeling, is the interviewe expected to create the entire financial model excel spreadsheet on the spot, or can one use a generic model that would new institutional level standards

    Hey Justin, interest rates seem unreasonably low and I fear a big correction will come about right when I get out of college with my real estate degree. I think you mentioned you got out of college in the midst of the 2008 recession. How worried should I be about finding work in real estate field if we are in a Recession?

    • @BreakIntoCRE
      @BreakIntoCRE  Před 3 lety +2

      2020 was a big correction year for many asset classes, and much of the industry is looking towards a recovery in 2021 and 2022. If you're graduating in those years, the consensus seems to be that the economic recovery will likely be well underway during that time. Good luck!

    Hey Justin, Do you have a copy or copies of different CRE Excel Exam samples that we would see for these roles? Going in for an interview in early Dec and it would be a huge help to have some practice. Bought a few of your modelling courses but thought id see if you have any sample exams. Thanks!

    Justin - Do you have any PC Desktop/Laptop recommendations for modeling in excel. I'm currently training on MAC, but being that the industry standard is windows I feel that I may be wasting effort. Any recommendations on computer specs needed to run advanced excel models comfortably? (RAM, Core, processing speed)

      Not super important as long as it’s not old or too cheap. Considering that any job will give you a basic laptop to work it shouldn’t be too big of a deal

    Hey Justin! I am 21 years old and want to start building my own RE portfolio. I will be buying my first investment property (single family or small multifamily) sometime in 2021. Which of your courses would you recommend for a beginning RE investor? I currently work in accounting, but my eventual goal is to grow my RE portfolio into a full-time investment/development business. I have no training or experience in RE, so I'm looking to learn the fundamentals and become my own "analyst" essentially. Thanks!
