Another wonderful reaction to another fabulous Angelina performance. The younger performance was actually done just before a TV2 interview done by Ann Lindmo. You don’t have to do a reaction to the interview of course, unless you want to…….BUT YOU MUST WATCH THE INTERVIEW……if you haven’t done so. You will understand why, after you do. All of Angelina’s Angels will have watched and been so touched by this interview when she was 8 years old. What a special little human being she was and is. We are yet to hear the best from her. Thank you for another great reaction to Angelina’s great performance. I was very fortunate to fly from Spokane to Portsmouth and attend that very special concert. And, no, cameras were “not allowed”, so any videos we get to see are special possessions for sure. I look forward to more of your reactions, Aslena.
I was at that concert and they did not allow recording in the theatre. She is rediculouly gifted and I hope to attend many more of Angelina's concerts.
She was so damn cute as a child , And all the qualities that she possessed and still possesses shined through that precious little face even as a child ! Her parents and grandmother and her entire teen that surrounded her as a child did such an amazing job with walking that fine line with her and her career !
Great reaction Ashlena. I agree with all you have said, but I didn’t hear anyone talking during the performance.
Recording wasn’t permitted although I was of the opinion that they simply didn’t want Angelina (and the audience) to be confronted with a sea of cellphones held aloft. I had heard from someone that some of the chatter you may have heard was from locals (mostly) that were vociferous when they spotted a fan surreptitiously trying to get a quick photo or a video clip. 😕
I also agree with you Ashlena, Angelina IS “…a sweet little human” (🫶), although she’s not all that little. ☺️ Angelina’s height has been a hot topic of conversation for quite some time. Steve Ackerman (a superfan) had the good fortune of meeting Angelina after the performance and said that he thinks she’s around 5’-10” or 5’-11” (he’s around 6’-0” tall). According to Angelina’s mother, Angelina is 6’-11”.
BTW, Angelina’s mom Sarah is just as sweet as Angelina (go figure, right? ☺️). She spent quite a bit of time chatting with the fans while we were waiting outside to enter the theater. She was videotaping the crowd on her cellphone and was dumbfounded when she had heard that the fans came from 39 US states (including Alaska and Hawaii) AND nine countries including Norway, Holland, Argentina, Peru, Australia, and others. Sarah was thanking everyone profusely for coming and she took a few of the daisies and other flowers that were being handed out to all of the concertgoers. ❤️🥰

I hope plenty of fans thanked Sara for everything she has done for Angelina. I made the grave mistake of going into the venue when it first opened up (thence immediately to the restroom), so I missed her.🙄
@@DonaldLancon It was a bit of a “love fest” toward Sarah. She was so overwhelmed (IMO)… she was taking video of the sizable crowd with her phone as they waited to enter the theater. Sarah’s video showed up later online. You could tell the local fans from the “Angels” who knew Angelina and her family well. As soon as the Angels in line recognized Sarah they smiled, waved, and said nothing but good things about her daughter.

I watched this live and I'll never forget it !!!
This video, as good as it was, did not do justice to the experience of hearing it live. Her beautiful low tones and vibrato went straight to your heart and the slow tempo let them resonate. It was almost like entering a trance taking you to the beautiful place that she says she goes to when she sings. No one around me was talking and for a moment we all went to that beautiful place. It was an experience like no other. ❤

I was sitting in the 5th row at the concert where it was requested no photos or videos during the concert but we are glad a few people got some recordings. I can now say, as many before me said after hearing her live, that no recording can fully capture Angelina's voice. Can't wait for the next concert.

That night had logistical challenges, she had to overcome...this performance is not only credit to her genius but to her tenacity..Also our gracious Princess, will be attending the "Bal Des Debutantes", in Paris. Thank you for playing her 9 year old version first - I haven't heard it for a while and wanted to compare the two of them. Her singing maturity is evident, but she was already an accomplished artist at 9 years old.
Also, you asked a question: yes, it was asked that no recordings be done in that concert. Of course a few clandestine ones were to be had. Also, I understand that that theatre has many members who have paid for a full year of shows, so many of them were there, but were not AJ followers. A few, I understand, walked out, and, I guess, a few stayed and chatted with their friends :-). I hope she got a few more followers. This was her first and only U.S. concert and was arranged by someone locally who had heard her sing and wanted to give AJ that opportunity. AJ has said that she will be touring soon, so others in the U.S. can see her live without a long trip. I had the great opportunity to attend two of her concerts last year in Norway. It was worth it! She excels at singing with a live audience.

I realise I'm in a minority of one but for me the Portsmouth performance was slowed down a little too much. Maybe it's because whatever the saxophonist may have been doing was mostly inaudible in this clip or maybe I've simply developed a low attention span. Let's just say I was suitably impressed as always with Angelina's voice but at the same time would have become impatient for her to move on to the next song if I had been there.
Very perceptive note on her presence singing v not- during this concert at least, while singing, she's in full AJ professional mode, and in between songs, more awkward teenager. Not shocking, but certainly notable.

The ;Gold Standard' for this song was achieved by Bobby Hadfield, of The
Righteous Brothers, back in the 60's on The Andy Williams TV Show. The
difference between him and Angelina is that he's not a jazz singer, and
therefor can't be expected to match the emotion laden penetration that this
reigning 'Queen Of Jazz' performs in her latest rendition. Originally, she stayed
'spot on' with Bobby's rendition when she was much younger, but this explosion
of Jazziness she brings in her most current rendition is mesmerizing.
The first was cute and impressive. Obvious she had a future as a singer. The second was great...not Bobby Hatfield great, but great. It was to slow though, but that's just my preference.
My personal view: I heard Bobby Hatfield sing this live in a hall similar to this one and it was great! I heard this performance live as well and it was the most beautiful musical experience I have had in my life of 72 years of listening to great music. It was Angelina great! ❤
I also have heard Bobby's version live (was in the audience when he did it on the Andy Williams show) and I was at Angelina's concert in NH! Bobby's performance had been my all time favorite (song and performance) until the night of Sept. 22, 2023 when Angelina did this performance! As others have said Chris did a great job putting this video together from 4 different cellphone videos, but hearing her singing this live compared to the video is like the difference in night and day!! JMHO!
