Then you should check out his Tiny Desk Concerts. It's perfect and BRILLIANT!

Tiny Desk Concert has six songs in total, I recommend the fifth song, Overflowing (starts at 18:50)! This is the newest song.
It has about 5.5 minutes because before he start singing, he make a few comments about the song. You will get to know his usual friendly character🌱🌱

There are highlights for sure but the entire performance was amazing. Would love to see the whole thing

FYI, he writes all his songs and lyrics incl English version and can also play saxophone and guitar. And you are right he has been deeply touched with classics, jazz, R&B, traditional and latest pops as you see in the cover movies in his CZcams channel.

He looks so serious and nervous as this concert was held just after his debut. Now he’s much more relaxed and free! Pls watch Tiny desk concert NPR as everyone mentioned. Thanks for your good reaction video!!

Despite the nerves of the moment, I honestly think that the live renditions of Nan-Nan and this song at this specific concert, are the best I’ve ever heard from him. Impeccable!!!!

This dude is actually super expressive. Like infectiously so. The whole limited interaction thing we see here is actually how the song is meant to be expressed. This is an introverted song. He has another performance from this show that is available on his channel, NaN-NaNw, which is a more extroverted song. You might want to check that out and do a comparison so you can better understand the nature of this artist and the way he expresses his art.
This song performed today is still largely introspective in presentation but it has evolved to interact with the audience in a way that suits this song that's...not necessarily G-rated. 😆
One thing that should be noted about this Budokan performance though, is that it's actually his first performance on a major stage. It's also held during the thick of the covid lockdown, when audience interaction was restricted, and the allowed audience capacity was only half the max. So what we're seeing here is an interesting mix of veteran musician (the guy had been playing music for the the CZcams audience for over a decade at the point of this show) and newbie artist (he'd only just made his major professional debut earlier that same year) at a professional start line thats positioned in a much more difficult place. Things have returned to pretty much normal now though, and after having toured extensively these past few years in sometimes rare but mostly unprecedented situations, he's arguably more seasoned now.
He is absolutely bonkers on the piano and that's his main instrument for the most part. Dude's pretty much Hendrix, Rich and Jamerson all rolled into one on keys. If he werent a singer he could have been a professional pianist. Of the legendary variety. He does also play the sax. His skills on the guitar are pretty basic though. 😅

From Japan. He has been playing piano and saxophone since he was 3 years old, and as you can hear from the scat in the latter half, his saxophone technique is amazing, even for professional jazz musicians. It seems that he has been performing in front of customers at his father's cafe since he was a child. Your observations are great!🙏🙏🙏

Nah - that extra synth sound is a central part of the song! (You'd understand that if you listened to the studio recording.)
