- Come along with us to explore one of Australia’s oldest prisons. Pentridge Prison. Est 1851 and officially closed its gates in 1997
Located in Coburg, Melbourne. Australia.
HM pentridge was built in the midst of the Gold rush era as thousands move to Melbourne to work in the Gold mines. As Melbournes population starts to surge, so does the crime rates. Pentridge was built to help the overcrowding of prisoners in a nearby Jail, Old Melbourne jail.

Torture happen there on another level, i know, i was tortured there for many years, from 17 yrs old till i was 25
That’s heartbreaking to hear ! I couldn’t imagine, we definitely felt uncomfortable walking through just felt like so much went on there that we would never hear about. I hope your ok
The worst person to ever work at Pentridge was Gordon JARDEEN from Geelong he ran the Liquorice Mile and was hated by many.
Prisons in Australia don't have warden's, they're called Governor.

Prison guards in Australia are simple known as screws yes we call them warden's but screws are a common name I think its good how we step inside one of Victorias hardest and dangerous prison back in the day they broke rocks in the hot sun just to build the prison and its walls of blue stone thanks for sharing this vid guys well done respect goes out to you stay safe and god bless 👍🏻💯👌🏻
