I’m thinking about getting the magic keyboard but I don’t know if it’s worth the money and how it is in bed and on lap because people say it’s hard in bed because you have to angle it and on lap solmetimes it can tip over it your not careful
@@lukewalker3 I use the iPad with the magic keyboard in bed all the time and for me it has never been an issue and the angle is perfect. To me, the only downside is that it’s obviously heavier than a traditional case. Also, you can only use it in landscape mode
Tbh, I think the price difference is way more interesting than the swiveling. I`m actually thinking of sending my magic keyboard back, and go with the doqo instead xD
Ipad Pro with magic keyboard user here. The sviwel mechanism looks flimsy and is going to break easily. The magic keyboard is built like a tank though and that in combination with the amazing keys and the super responsive trackpad outweighs all cons for me. As a graphic designer I would love to have a rotation option but hey, you can take it off and use it without the MK. Good review, man. Thanks...
After all the advertises on Facebook for this keyboard we finally see it action, great review and honest opinion. I think the rotating mechanism is a fantastic idea which has finally been put out to the market with doqo, hoping a few other companies realize the potential and we see more of this style of keyboard on the market.
I think Apple was worried about the wobble cheapifying the iPad experience (apparent by both generations of Apple’s newer keyboard cases), which is sad because they sacrifice SO much functionality for it. Lovin’ your colorlit wood background.

You're not wrong - but I do wish Apple or Logitech or Brydge or someone would copy the rotating/folding feature and do it right. I would drool over that product.
Fn + T will turn off the trackpad for a better typing experience. The company thought of the trackpad issue. That is what that symbol on the keyboard is. Typed this earlier in the vid before he discovered what I typed in.
So what's with the bluetooth trackpad issues with Apple for 3rd party accessories? Brydge's trackpad is glitchy as well. Yet Apple's standalone Trackpad works flawlessly.
Looking at the way the swivel mechanism works, I believe this would make the pass through for power and smart connector not workable. However, it seems the ability to fold the iPad over and make it it a tablet without having to take it off the Magic Keyboard should be doable.
I have a magic keyboard and I might get this to replace it. I go between creating my children’s book and illustrating and working on my novel off and on through the day and editing CZcams videos that I’m trying to build. this just seems so convenient. I hate using my iPad nakedly when I have to use it with my magic keyboard and I would hate to have to take off a case every single time I want to use the keyboard.
I agree, Chris! Somebody make this product, but with quality more in mind; using the smart connectors and the better keyboard and trackpad from the newer iPad keyboard situation.
Interesting concept but the implementation is flimsy at best. The upward position is too wobbly, the location of the USB port awkward and no place to store the pencil...
The pivot hinge was wobbling on rotation. It seems like it will be a weak point over time where it could snap off. Nice idea, nice features, but I’ll stick with the Magic Keyboard that I just bought from Costco for only $199!!!
Looks as the best option for "on-the-go" keyboard (in the streets, at work, even for moving from one room to another at home, etc). Versatile. For comfortly typing many hours, it's the MK. I would buy this product.
With some better quality and and the magic connectors. This could be a serious contender. This is EXACTLY what most of us with a magic keyboard were expecting. Yea Apple doesn’t want to blur the line of laptop and tablet BUT this is what will protect your iPad outside of the case.
Unlike most people, I use the Brydge Pro + keyboard, and I actually like it. I needed a Bluetooth keyboard because I have my iPad on a stand above my keyboard, not connected to it, and I wanted a built-in trackpad. For this reason, none of Apple or Logitech’s smart connector-using keyboards would work. I totally agree that I wish Apple, Logitech, or Brydge would adopt the features of this keyboard. I also wish you could use the Apple and Logitech keyboards without physically connecting the iPad.
portrait mode feature is something i am looking forward to, it will just solve the problem with video calls in landscape mode. Even center stage cannot solve the issue with camera location as it doesn't provide rich communication in video calls. Forget business calls, i am talking about personal calls with family/friends/elderly where u look direct and its much more natural and fulfilling.
The idea is actually good, but it’s not properly executed, It would be better if someone like Apple/Logitech does this , and this is more better than Microsoft surface keyboard
I’ve tried several of the interesting keyboard cases for iPad over the years. While the ideas have been really interesting, the implementation and cheapness make it not worth the trouble. Cheap keys and a wobbly display make for a bad experience.
If I’m being honest, I had a rotating laptop (that weren’t cheap btw) and eventually it gave way. I will be sticking to buying the apple version as this one looks like of cheap.
It would have been great if it would rotate into Portrait Mode! I have had so many complaints about people wanting to use IOS phone Apps that are not running well Horizontally! You would think if they can rotate the iPad, why not into Portrait Mode and run Apps upside down so that the USB connector is coming out of the top? Are there patent infringement issues with building a 3-pin connector to provide power/data to the iPad? Seems like a no-brainer building an extension to the 3-pin connector, rotate it 90-degrees and use it that way.

Maybe Apple is hoping to sell a bunch of Smart Keyboards and then, a year from now, come up with something like this, making everybody want to change, and making a lot more money as if they launched this at start 😉
This is cool! Do not understand the lack of design thinking in the one dimensional apple one. Primary concern (as of right now, today)- is there a sound effect option where we can screen record typing sounds while using this, like on a whiteboard video screen record? Magic keyboard won’t allow it, which is odd. It’s loud af when you use on-screen keyboard, so why no option at all when using external keyboard?
I really like the design, it would be nice if it had a pass-thru USB-C port to sync or charge with the iPad Pro. I also agree that the ability to turn the screen around and to have it lie flat is very appealing. Tempting choice but if you have to turn off the trackpad to make it more usable that worries me. Improve the keyboard and maybe.
Does it stay upright at any angel? I sit at a recliner, and a lot of the keyboards also flop back because it doesn’t have a strong enough hinge to stay as a laptop but this looks like it fixes it. This is why I don’t like the Zagg anymore - the slim book pro top part of the case is awesome and stays up, but because it’s not actually hinged to the bottom and the 12.9 is so big, when you put it back far enough it doesn’t want to stay up. I’m trying to decide between this kind and the pro (ever tried typecase?) I don’t like the pro you have to pull it in and out to switch it around, but I would think it would be less likely to have the hinge break. I am the kind of person this kind of thing is for - I need to be able to reverse it to use for Zoom all the time so you can tilt it forward at a specific angle.
Why is there aren’t any product that can make good use of the dots on back of the iPadPro? Bluetooth has latency and consumes more power, I would like to purchase a dock if it can get access to the three dots.
I haven’t been using it. I use the Magic Keyboard. I just made this video in it because it was interesting. Like I said in the video it’s probably not for most people.

I am guessing that you are aware that it is an iPad and therefore it has a touch screen? Not sure why the track pad is so important when you have a touch screen, pencil, mouse, or any other peripheral you choose to add. That for the review though and I amndefinety looking for something just like this.
Noticed that the iPad is a bit shaky and not solid. That would be annoying. Nothing like a solid mount for the heaviness of the iPad. Like the notepad feature to flip backwards. Lots of promise!
I have a different version of a 360 keyboard case that I got for my 2018 iPad Pro and just adapted it to my 2020 iPad Pro. I absolutely love that functionality and are use it all the time in tablet mode with my Apple Pencil. The one thing that my version has that I don’t see on this version is Apple Pencil storage. Is there any spot to store an Apple Pencil? That is really a key feature as it’s super easy just to throw the Apple Pencil in there and go.
That rotating mechanism looks breakable but its a convenient solution to allowing the user to use the tablet for typing drawing taking notes and hiding the keyboard when not in use.

I actually think the best tablet keyboard design is surface. (but surface stands on its own)

That hinge needs a stiffer suspension system.
