If you’ve never used an air filter these are great. czcams.com/users/postUgkx_dppjvjF8BYEmPSDTcgCUdRsgWYLXNHN I ended up with three after starting out with one. The noise level depends on the 1-3 settings with how hard you want the machine to work. You can also upgrade the filters and get one better for pet hair and smells which is a must have in my home. I noticed the air seemed lighter and easier to breathe when running the machine for the first time. Works great every time. Highly recommended!

Hi I hope you can help. I have a phillips air purifier AC2887 model and there's no way to clean inside the vents at the back - sponges and cloths do not reach it. How are we supposed to clean the gunk and build up in there? Where the fan is? Not the front where the filters are? And the downloadable instructions aren't clear at all. Doesn't explain how to clean the sensor wherever that is!!! So how do we clean the actual fan inside it and the back part where the 'clean' air is coming out? Because on the left side (where it stupidly goes up on an angle and air doesn't reach it) there's a really big build up of dust. You can't fit a cloth or anything in between those tiny vents at the top! Please help!

I bought vitashielf series 1000, after i started using this I didn't experience any nasal congestion. My nasals are wide open now , thanns to God and Philips, its Awesome. I pose lot of issues in the night time . Let me check and post my experience here. I could see every once in 14 days the filters have to be changed ?? What is the cost of them ? do I have to change ONLY the nano protect filters ?? Also, I could see pre filter can be washed @ home , is this true , please confirm

Hi thank you for reaching out with your question. The lifespan of the filters depends on the type of filter, duration of use and air quality in the house. In general, you should replace filters every 1-3 years. Cost of the filter depends on your country of residence. We indeed recommend cleaning the pre-filter over time, yes, this can be done at home. Hope this answers your question, if you have more, feel free to let us know.

hi Phillips, i bought this airfilter and turned it on without realising that the filters were wrapped in plastic, as it had been delivered completely fully assembled. It was in use for about a week before i even realised an i am worried that the machine was damaged somehow. It asked me to clean the prefilter and this is when i discovered the issue. The machine appears to be working fine but i just want reassurance that no damage has been done. It would have been nice to have a warning label on the front saying to please unwrap filters before use. Thanks.

The instructions in the manual showed above are not very clear, although I think I understood what to do. Still, a video in English would be better, since Philips is such a big brand and can afford making one. It's not like we ask for a video in every language out there. The PROBLEM is that I am afraid to damage the sensor, so it's always better to see it done by others instead of reading a manual made by an engineer.
I see from other comments I'm not the only one requesting a video on this matter. So I'm not crazy.

@@Philips my new Ac2887 Phillips Air purifier is showing bad air quality ie pink instead of blue and has readings fluctuating from 20 to 40. Now here's the thing do I have to completely close all windows with no oxygen getting into my unit whatsoever for me to have clean but stale air? NB this does not pump out oxygen so to just have clean stale oxygenless air is not healthy either. Even though there's no badness in it like smoke and pollutants it also hasn't got anything good in it either like oxygen so as an asthmatic how much oxygen can I have before the room gets polluted? I guess its a balancing act of needing outside air with oxygen and pollutants vs clean stale inside air. Unfortunately, I live in a concrete jungle outside with very little green space.
