This is possible i have a female zebra finch that was raised by society finches and i tried to pair her with a male zebra finch, didn’t work she ended up paired with my male society finch and they have had a few clutches together.. they don’t look like the one in this video tho, look more like society finches with an orange beak.. cheers

I think its a juveniele society finch , i dont think the 2 species can interbreed succesfully , i have societys and zebra’s together for years and an they try to breed thogether but i never had a hybrid .

They can breed, but the offspring is usually sterile. I do have a zebra x society finch offspring.

any finch can be breed to another finch that's not of the same breed... i have lemon breasted canary finch breed to a red house finch female... i don;t know if the male would be sterile, but i'm 99% sure it would be.

@@sylviabise6403 unfortunately my zebra and society have never had fertile eggs, but in rare cases, it can happen. I’d say let them try if they’re interested in each other and keep a close eye out for eggies

+Giorgos Kaxiris not lackey, but in my case 2/10 of mine hybrid's were, BUT the babies died in a few weeks, probably because my birds are shit face ass holes who eat food all day

Not really all that rare. If all you have are one of each, they will reproduce together. I see lots of them from people online

Not really true. You see plenty of people who claim they have a hybrid zebra/society, but it always turns out to be fake. I believe the two cannot actually breed successfully together. The bird above appears to be just a juvenile society finch.

SHAME ON YOU 4 HYBRIDIZING these two DIFFERENT SPECIES. it's not good 4 the babies!!

Well the male zebra finch was raised by society finches and he wasn't interested with female zebra finch. So I got this female to keep it as companions and suddenly they just laid one egg. I didn't know they can crossbreed together. Unfortunately the female society passed away and now my male zebra is unhappy with the female zebra I have. The hybrid I gave it to biology teacher from college to show an example about the hybrid

It's not like they were really forced. And I mean Canaries and finches breed naturally.

NOT TRUE! And don't SHAME people. There is absolutely nothing wrong with hybridization!
