  • Peter Lehnert from the Lehnert-Veit winery in Piesport, in the Mosel Valley of Germany of course grows Riesling, but also focuses on Pinot Noir and presents this single vineyard expression, from the Falkenberg Vineyard.
An ancient seabed deposited clay and silt for millions of years. Time, temperature, and pressure turned it to dark slate, while continental drift pushed it high into the mountains. The Gunterslay vineyard features coarse stones that force the vine roots to dig deep, and results in minerality in the wine. 820ft above sea level provides a cooler microclimate for the vines, that drives freshness and elegance.
Our vineyards and winemaking produce cool climate wines, that are savory with a distinct mineral profile. A beautiful deep ruby color produces aromas of cherries and herbs. The fruit on the palate features is balanced by the energetic acidity and an elegant, mineral-driven finish.
Excellent with lighter, more delicate meals like cheesy pastas, meats like turkey, pork, or veal. Salmon The delicate fruit profile and acidity makes this an incredibly versatile wine. Ideal cheese pairs include creamy, soft cheeses like brie and camembert.
