I think the same to you. Do you like cast then and now series?
It makes me sad some of these acting legends haven’t got much longer left. Especially Al Pacino, truly the best actor of all time
Absolutely true
Tryu
True
I may not have understood your comment well but ... Al Pacino is still alive.
Al Pacino is not the best actor of all time. He has like 5-6 Movies where he was great in
You forgot the cat Don Corleone was holding in the beginning of the movie
😂😂😂
The cat is still alive.
@@TheMotz55 yea sure😂
The cat is 117 years old, lives in upstate New York .
The Cat is smart, not like everybody says like dumb. The cat needs respect.
I believe this is the most perfectly cast movie of all time. Each actor that was picked for each part could not have been better. Timeless classic, saw it in the movies in 1972 when i was 15 and have been watching ever since, never gets old.
According to James Caan "The Suits" didn't want Al Pacino to play Michael. They wanted Robert Redford or Ryan Oneal!!!
@@pranksterguy1 yes, i had also heard that, thank goodness Al got the part, super talented actor. thank you!

When I was a kid I would asked my dad why he watched the same movies all the time. I just didn't understand it. After watching The Godfather for the ten-thousandth time, my son looked at me and said;
"Dad, why do you always watch the same movies over and over?"
I just laughed and said; "One day you'll understand... You'll find the movies that have the most meaning to you in life and hold on to them for the rest of your life."
I've watched this trilogy a hundred times and i never get tired of it.
My son asks me the same question!
My wife rolls her eyes and find something to do for the next few hours, everytime I re-watched them (mainly 1 & 2).
💯
This music alone makes me think I must drag them out to watch them. Not so much the third that was like let’s capitalise on the franchise with one more just make it quick that’ll do
So sad to see all these wonderful people who have now passed away. May all these great people Rest In Peace. It’s scary what time does
You have to remember a lot of these people were in their 50's, 60's and 70's when this movie started filming in 1971.
Time is the only thing more precious than money power wealth. It cant be defeated and goes on with or without us.
1 and 2, best movies ever made.
It's all about the trilogy.
I reckon Godfather 3 is not that bad at all.
@@geoffphil I recently watched Godfather 3 Coda. I could not see any difference ( there is but I didn't see it)

Remains one of the best films of all time. Too bad Hollywood is dead. A film of this magnitude, richness, and artistic interpretation will never be captured in this way again - certainly not in my lifetime.
@Tyrone Koumoundouros huh?
I agree. Today their main focus is not offending anyone. You can't create with out shaking people up and that includes offending people. Besides people are so hyper sensitive today they wouldn't even appreciate a movie that sends a gut-punch of reality to them. Their too busy focusing that enough minorities are represented in a movie instead of just making a good film.
You never know. Coppola had to fight the system pretty hard to get it made in the first place
@@JOECANDELA22 What dude? Today's movies are 1000 times more offensive and "free" than those you could make back in 1972. Just watch any slash horror film or a Tarantino movie. Pulp Fiction in 1972 would get you jailed and would never see the light of the day being banned from every regular movie theater in the country. Also "9 1/2 Weeks" would be classified as a porno movie just like "Deep Throat" or "Behind the Green Door".
I'm 17, but its my favourite movie. I've read the book too.
Book is even better. They get into more details on other characters.
If u hav a vcr they sell vhs version on Amazon that has is told in chronological order from 1901-1980 when Vito leaves Sicily to When Michael kills the Heads of The 5 Families it has a lot of the stuff from the book 📚 on 3 VHS Tapes
I think the movie is better then the book. For example, I found the book's ending to be ridiculous. It does not have the emotional impact of the film. Kay looks at Michael. She is starting to have regrets about marrying him.
Same.
@Joachim Steinberg nothing more. God bless Israel
Brando the true god father, what a performance, no actor alive could play that role at 47. None.
I can and I don’t even need the make up and am 45
Brando was a genius. He will go down in cinematic history.
I’m surprised they haven’t gone for a remake with Tom Hanks in the role. They stick him in everything.
@@janetmccoy7945 Brando's place in acting, not just cinematic, history is quite secure since the 1950s.

"Leave the gun, take the cannoli" sorry just had to! :)
Lol
Well, it's a good 50 years since this movie was shot, and it's going to be 50 years since its first release next year. People get old and they do die. I saw this one in 1972 with my mom and brother, I was 17. Mom died in 1976 at 57 and my brother died at 66 years in 2020. They all have something that few will ever have, immortality as long as people will watch The Godfather, it's an excellent movie, well crafted and acted. My guess it will be watched long after we pass this mortal coil.

John Cazale could be among the greats, alongside Al Pacino and DeNiro, it's a shame he died so early. His filmography is short, but he was among some of the best films of all time, Godfather, Dog Day Afternoon and Deer Hunter to name a few. He hadn't died then imagine how many more amazing roles he would have put out...

They missed Enzo’s father in law Vito Scotti who on the wedding day pleads for The Don to arrange for Enzo to be allowed to stay in the country. One of busiest character actors of his era, IMDB lists him as having 233 credits!

My heart bleeds everytime I hear this music.
I came here specifically to see what Simonetta Stefanelli looked like these days.
Her “deflowering” scene was, and remains, one of the most erotic and passionate in cinematic history. Every man can relate to his first romantic encounter with the innocence captured by Coppola, Pacino and Stefanelli in that bedroom scene. She stoked every man’s passionate desire, including mine.
