@@MachoT are you able to interrupt animations? For example in a three-way, If two guys are locked up in a suplex position, is the third player able to dropkick both of them, or does the suplex animation have to play out?
@@jetjaguar72 I don’t think so. I understand how some wont like that, but when you can steam roll every move it’s annoying as heck and a major factor in glitches and weirdness. I understand why they took it out
Im not even an AEW fan, this game looks like it might be the best wrestling game in 25 years. Its the perfect blend of arcade with sim elements too. The transitions are insanely smooth.
The graphics might not be on 2ks level but this is proof that mocap moves never delivered. If you're talented enough to hand key your moves, this is the way to go.
You should start watching AEW. It's not perfect but if you love WRESTLING, it's your cup of tea.

I have a feeling it will be one of the best wrestling games ever. Those animations and counters are sick.
I only dislike that weapons are transparent, but its a good compromise, that way you dont get stuck in them all the time.

My initial impression of the ladder match is very favorable. Looks like you sort of button mash to clear "tiers." And if you fall off the ladder you don't start back at square 1. We'll see how it works, but I think I like that. I don't totally remember, but just from memory, I think in No Mercy you had to be on top of the ladder for a certain amount of time no matter what.

AEW and Kenny Omega got some of the main Team that worked on No Mercy, WrestleMania 2000, and a few others in that series, back together to work on this. It was one of the main things that got me excited when I first started hearing about this game.

I would say yes, purely on the basis AKI games let you add rules like “elimination”, “first blood”, “rope break”, “no count, 10, or 20”.

About 5-6 minutes. Would likely go longer if we up the difficulty which we didn’t try.
For some reason on the ps store it says only 2 players offline, I imagine that's incorrect and you can play up to 4 players local for now at least right?

It will be there at launch but it is limited and there’s no “community creations”

@@MachoT How limited? I'm sure you can't really say but are we talking like limited in comparison to what's available in 2K today, or limited as in how limited early games like No Mercy were? Is it just fewer assets, fewer details we can customize, and/or fewer *things* we can customize (like titles, moves, entrances)? Or are we talking no sliders, all preset faces, preset gear, and no ability to upload textures?

My only complaint about the game is… why do the weapons become transparent on the ground?
I imagine they did it for the sake of "visibility" of the players at all times, so you won't lose sight of your character even when tons of weapons are inside the ring. That being said, hopefully the transparency is optional.
Also creates a buggy mess. If you watch closely you get more hurt landing on them. If your leg catches a ladder 🪜 on a slam, only the leg takes damage
How come Bryan was stunned for a long time towards the end....? Was that a glitch?
No it was stamina. Older WWE games used to keep wrestlers down for minutes when they had heavy damage

pretty lame seems like you can't break up moves while they are being performed and the absence of weapon physics is bothersome too. No placing ladders on ropes or corners or doing a move on top of a weapon and then it breaks.
Weapon usage looks pretty bad considering Yukes did a great job in SvR 11. Not sure why Yukes can't do the same here.
It annoys me that no one is allowed to showcase CM Punk. He’s the biggest reason a lot of people are buying the game.
It's okay we know his movesets and that he's in the game. I just hope when he cuts promos in Road To Elite it actually feels like something Punk would actually say and doesn't feel out of character.

2K is fine but there has been over 2 decades since No Mercy came and this game gives me the sensation and nostalgia of playing it. Fans were waiting for this arcade to come back and definitely deserve a must buy.
@@mnc4980 As a software engineer I can improve things with blender. I don't see much affection for the making of this game. It's as if they lacked a budget. The color palette is basic to one color without textures. The settings are small and lifeless, very few people in the stands looks like an indy show, the menu is too basic and the physics and animations shown in this gameplay are deplorable, that's why the mocap is used to recreate articulated movements and prevent them from looking so flat.

It certainly doesn't look perfect (weapon usage looks awful) but to say gameplay is identical is disingenuous. Clearly, the systems in 2K games are way more intricate with on-screen meters and button presses. This system is far simpler, for better and worse. Reversals are done with the bumper buttons, one for strikes, and one for grapples to prevent spamming. They are emulating No Mercy and the AKI style from back in the day (which is kinda funny since AKI did those, not Yukes). They should've modernized it a bit with better weapon usage (not going transparent, being able to do overhead strikes, weapon setups), and breaking up moves mid-animation would be great too (not sure if you can do that in WWE games). The art style is a choice. This style of gameplay would look weird if done realistically, but the textures and details could have used a bit more time. Willing to bet all the criticisms I have are due to budget. Still looks fun for what is, and it's never a bad thing to have more wrestling games.
