Such a sad story for such a cool car. Awesome vid man
I swear, you be having the coolest cars on this channel. You should have a few million subscribers! I’m spreading the word to friends and co-workers for your channel 👍🏿
Thank you! I try finding the best in the custom world always and this one is perfect imo
The memories are what these cars are about. That car is strictly business. Badass!
Totally agree
A classic Nova Has the looks,Build and even history vibes
I love seeing this old Nova again.
I remember helping Mike's brother work on this bad boy back in the old days. Still have a scar on my knuckle helping him with it.
Many hot NorCal summer days in this car, and I don't recall the AC ever working!
Thanks for the stroll down memory lane!
Nice stance. Love the look of a nova. That must be his most valuable possession cause of the family history.
Couldn’t agree more with you 👊
So good to see this beauty again. Mike was my brother in law. I was married to his older brother Mark. Boy, he loved working on and driving that Nova! Spent many days/nights wrenching on it with him. He taught me a lot! Great memories...thank you! RIP
Lots of love to this guy. Kept his head up throughout all the challenges in his life
cant beat a Nova .. sexy lookin beast 🙌
Glad someone else has sentimental attachment to a vehicle. My son Aaron's 1997 Honda which he drove for a year sits in my driveway. Everyone thinks I am crazy for wanting to repaint it . Paint is in the gagage but age is catching up to me. My heart says yes, my body says no. And I owned a 1972 Nova which made me post this. I love doers and dreamers.
For me.... that nova is priceless because of the sentimental value... that car has SOUL 👍🏾😎👍🏾
Same for me on this one
Wow, what a story. Nice family ride.
Totally agree
Killer Novacoach Man ! Way to go keepin it in the family ! I’m sure Your Mom , Dad and Bro would be happy that Your still enjoying it! 🤙🏼🍻
Great comment 👊
Great coverage! I like that you don't only cover supreme high end expensive builds.
We try showing the whole spectrum of custom builds
OMG. This is mechanically VERY similar to my '71. LS3 TR6060, 9-inch, TruTurn, etc. I even bought it from the second owner since '74. Very cool car. Sad story but nice to see he honors his family with this.
Love this comment!
I love the way you treat the guests on your show. You are always so genuine and respectful and appreciative of every little effort they have made to create something unique. It's a joy to watch something like your videos in this time of endless virtual garbage.
Stance is perfect on this car . Awesome car and story.
May your mother and brother rest in peace. Thats just awesome how many memories the three of you have in the car and youre keeping them all alive which is just beautiful. Right on man.
The exhaust note is fantastic! I have always loved the 68-72 Nova, they are great cars.
Love the sound and the whole story. And it’s a great driver car!
The best auto channel I know! American Muscle 4 life ... Greetings from Germany
Thank you so much. I love my hot rod family. Thanks for sharing, I learned so much. Nice clean daily driver and fun at the autocross.
Thank you and we love showing off this community of hotrods
Awesome Nova. I’d love to see some footage of it dancing amongst the cones
Me too! We’re going out with Mike and his friends soon and will shoot some cone action
Tire width looks sick..
Definitely and stance is perfect
Yet another fantastic video from AutotopiaLA. Such a nice Nova. Everytime I see one of these videos I wanna get out in my Nova. I'm on the way to the garage and then I remember I have a wife and 2 children and can't just jump in it and drive...
Love the real world homebuilt cars... Keep em coming!!!
Me too! This thing is pure cool
Shaun you definitely put a smile on my face when you said no to an ls swap on the foxbody! Absolutely bad ass I currently have 2 91s
I love LS engines but not for our 🦊
This is the best build car that you've had on your channel. It's a family own car. And that he built the car for his needs not for someone elses.
This is exactly how a Nova should be 👍
I think we can all agree on this one!!!
@@trevorsanchez2470 yes sir 👍
Couldn’t agree more 👊
Damn good looking nova
And built to drive!
Heartbreaking story. Beautiful car. It’s definitely family after all you two have been through together.
Everytime I see a Nova I want one even more.. 66-72 two door and/or wagon. Gotta start savin' for one! Maybe before 50. xD
I keep falling in love with these 2nd gen Nova’s. This one is just right imo
They are only getting rarer and more expensive, I bought mine for $1500 over 21 yrs ago. ....I'd imagine if I were to sale it I'd take no lower than 30k.......considering what I've done to it!!!
I own Mercedes AMG C63, and, Love the way he's car Sounds, and Hooks up . . . . Larry Hernandez
That Nova sounds like a beast.
finally some nova's
Hey bro, I’m not sure if you’ve been through their channel or which gen Nova are your preference, but they cover quite a bit of 1st gen Novas👍🏿
@@lukemomodujr im just looking for the 3rd gen but ive seen the nice first and second gens. thanks
@@skylarembury3712 oh ok. You’re welcome bro
We’ve shown a fair amount of 1st gen Nova’s and finally a 2nd gen!!
Dude I allways loved Nova’s but this one got such a good story and the fact that it’s still in the family...c’mon😍
I love the story of this car. Sad but that he still has it and drives it hard is awesome!
Apsolutly man
Good story..glad to see after all the losses that he chose to keep the car around..good review!!
Tough story but love that he built the car he wanted from this
@@AutotopiaLA indeed..Good Review..Much Respect..🏁👍
This is how I like cars, purpose built and driven hard.
Same for me!
Great car, one great chevrolets, they don't make cars like this anymore. Great job & family
My first car...1970 Nova..I was making $2.10 an hour at a part time job..I made $25 dollar installments until it was paid off..in 1980 I paid $500...man I beat that car...dragged race any thing any time..one of my favorite cars..I miss it.👍
Thanks for the story about your Nova
What a story, makes the car very special for the young man. Even with out the story it's a dam nice Nova. Even has a dam nice paint job, drive, wash repeat. Sorry to hear about his losses he went through, but maybe when he is out driving he can just think back on the past owners and get a big ol smile, the bigger the smile the faster it will probably go. Thanks for the awesome video and story.
What a great car and tragic yet beautiful story. He’s such a nice guy too
Love the nova wouldn’t change a thing
Same for me. Perfect drivers car
Great back story, family car. Killer stance and sound on this Nova
Agreed al the way Nik!
If I lived in California I would drive this everyday!!
Killer Hot Rod, that can be driven everyday since it does not have the perfect paint job on it. Love the fact it is still in the family, a bit of a sad story with a so many great memories.
Couldn’t agree more Chris on all points here
'Rough' ....'Family'...passing AWAY...so 'Early'! My Condolences Indeed! Great Job On the '72!...Not 'Overdone'! My 'Style'! ...FUNCTION...'Tight'!...Horsepower Not Super CRAZY! 'Street' Set UP.....FUN!...I have a '71...in Resto...i'm putting..Aftermarket AC in mine though.....lol.....Cheers From Canada!..
Sweet beast!!!
Man I love the simplicity of this build. A fun street Nova.
It’s so cool. And I love that he drives it and runs in auto x
@@AutotopiaLAanymore info on this car? I know it's a year later. Just love this video and how the car looks and drives. Wonder what gears he has.
What an awesome build. Perfect stance, sounds killer, goes, turns and stops superbly well I’m sure. Condolences for all the loss you’ve experienced but no doubt they’d be proud that you have the car and with what you’ve done with it. 🙏🏼
Great comment! 👊
My wife and I had a 1971 Nova ... miss that beast ..
Most underrated Chevy muscle car. My dads had 4 of this body style oldest was a 69.
No one seems to do these and I love em!
Nice nova nice stance good job .
Agreed all the way buddy
That looks AMAZING
I love all the builds you show.
Thank you! We try showing the best of all types of custom builds
@@AutotopiaLA I'm building my grandpa's 65 impala right now. It's slow because I'm disabled but I'll get it done. How would I get one of those key chains and sticker?
Very cool car! Autocross doesnt get the attention it deserves. It is such a fun sport.
It doesn’t at all. Can’t wait to go out for my first on track auto x soon with Mike and his friends
@@AutotopiaLA dude you are going to have so much fun!!! Ur going to get bit by auto x bug. Its addicting. FILM IT!
Sad story behind it...to have lost all his family, but the car is awesome. Thanks for sharing, mate.
Glad he still has this car for the family memories
Awesome story , awesome car. Hope this dude has family he can pass it down to. Keep these wheels rollin forever
Great story real hot rod thanks guys
Agreed all the way here. And what a perfectly set up to drive Nova!
Luv the LS powered classics!
As a former 71 Nova SS owner I love this car.
Probably one of the best sounding cars that I've heard for a while. It just sounds ready!
That’s one mean lookin Nova! Love that body style. My kind of build too. Great video!!
I'm sooo looking forward to seeing what you do with the foxbody!!
Me to!
I promise it’s gonna be a pure driver car
@@AutotopiaLA good.
DSE is developing chassis/ suspension for the foxbody. Not sure what I'm going to do yet as I want to keep my 89 GT convertable at "GT"
Also looking at MM chassis.
We’re in deep talks with DSE on our Fox
@@AutotopiaLA excellent!!!!
Such a cool car!!!
Definitely and great story
I actually don't mind the patina kinda look. I usually hate that look but the nova pulls it off very nicely 👌😎
I love it too
It’s a bad ass ride
I love this one
Have the same year nova but the story behind the car with the family and how he still has it is just awesome good for him to keep the car going
Friggin love these videos, please keep them coming !!!
Thank you and we have so much more to show
Mike, you have a big heart. And they say Nova means "no go" hahaha this thing hooks up solid. Love that stance and wheels. The battle scars are awesome. Enjoyed this very much 👍🏻
I loved shooting this car and Mike. Great story and killer Nova
That’s one bad ass Nova! Rebuilding a 70...Thanks for the inspiration! 🔥
Perfectly done imo
Tragedy to triumph- unbelievable - God bless! Awesome!
Love it. Great history and built to be driven!
Yes and yes! Sad but great history with this one
Awesome Nova!
Yes it is…total drivers car
thats a cool lookin nova sits right
Sweet Nova,,
The Camaro and Nova sub-frames are the same aside from some mounting holes. The later Camaro's got updated sub-frames, in the rear the track is narrower by 2" on the Nova vs Camaro. That's one hell of long shift throw for something he autocrosses with. My shift throw is about inch if that.
Cool info
Oh man that is such an nice car...with a incredible story.
The story blows me away and yeah, killer Nova and he drives it hard!
Great car with a great story. Have always liked this Nova body style.
Looks, and power. It's perfect. Plus I love the paint not being perfect
Same thoughts for me Ian!
Looks like my 70 challenger build. Love it!!
Pure cool and total driver
Another great guest and that's my kind of Nova
Same thoughts for me
Damn nice Nova
Love seeing these cars driven
Me too and he built this to drive!
Hell yeah more Nova's
Cool Nova!! Nice not having to worry about rock chips!
Nice nova 👍
Definitely a badass ride
I love this car!
Yea man your going to love that foxbody I have a notch and I love it
Sweet ride ,with a great history, tks for sharing
Glad you enjoyed it too
sweet ride ...
cool car, great story and history
Bad ass car wow
Beautiful 💪🏿💯
Sure is
Keep the tradition alive!!!
friend of mine had a 71 Nova and a nice tunnel ram system. 396 not a SS but a clone. once again Shawn great video! Stay Gold (Audi 5000)
Thanks and sounds like your friend had a cool Nova too!
When the owner gives a HA HA... you’re doing something right!!! Love the content!!!
A cool Nova
Cool !!!!!!!!!!!
Love the back story! Great 🎥
Sad yet beautiful story of this car
For real Sean, I wanna see what you build!
That's a cool car 👍🏻👍🏻 sorry he lost his brother 😞 I eventually want to do a tribute car for my dad that we had as a family car when growing up,
Sad story about his whole family being gone now but I sure love his Nova
