With our 100 M population the threats facing the King Bird is many. Unfortunately because of the very Nature of the Philippine Eagle, it's difficult to increase its population. That natural breeding you're talking about requires eagle of 22 years of age, 1 km of territory and only every 2 years does it lay an egg. The population is in the 300's. And with much of the Habitat of the eagle gone. It must be captive bred to insure its safety and survival.

There is a law for hunting them. If you are caught hunting them, you will be put in jail for 12 years. Unfortunately, it only takes one stupid person to shoot the eagle down. The challenge now is to look for those stupid people who do not know that the Philippine eagle is near extinction. The vast majority of Filipinos respect the Philippine eagle.
