I finally got the platinum! I didn't know that you get more points the CLOSER you skim to a post. If you skim it by the closest possible margin, you get 50 points.
So it's the glowing areas that give the better points, more so when you drift into the red side for that multiplier. It is the most puzzling challenge of the game (as I have not finished the game at this point of typing this message) so far.

I haven't played Sonic games in a long time and it shows....no matter what character I play as, I can't hit every one (and on my first try I missed all of them except the first) and I can't get beyond 700 points....I just started playing the game last week...after I bought it a year ago....How do you make it look so easy?
Those daredevil and ring challenges are very disproportionate to the rest of the game. Finishing in 1st place in the races on hard is completely easy, I got almost all of them in my first try, but those challenges are a pain in the ass. I give up on the damn platinum trophy.
Haha oh geez that’s crazy. Yeah the mechanics in this game are a little different so hopefully I get used to them. I find it easiest to play with tails since he has some decent handling and drift

I had to get a friend to help, and you only had to get 1000 each. Even then it took us an hour and when we finally won it was in the last .5 seconds
