I tried it before, it’s ridiculously hard to do, I spent a whole month just to get my throat “click” to the technic. For the pitch to go up and down cleanly it would be a year probably😂
If I buy used gear, I pray it was used by Posy. The man randomly films decades-old items that look good as new. He clearly is some kind of wizard.

One of the most annoying things they’ve changed in subsequent Panasonic cameras is the way touch to manual focus works. On the gh5 you could just slid the box and it would then focus on the new position. In newer camera for some reason you have to move the box and then press the AF button for it to focus.
Right???? And if anything passes in front, it loses it and flips out!

Have you thought about the Canon mirrorless line? Canon R5 or R6 have pretty good color science. Log is just pretty noisy when you underexpose. But, Davinci has great noise removal that I use, and I don’t notice. Only needed if underexposed though, which is easy enough to not do. I recommend the R5 if you have the cash, but it might be hard switching to a different lens system

As a camcorder collector, I relate to that title.
I used to work with GH5. I loved that camera!
I went from a GH4 to a GH6 and it's been bliss.
Not a single complaint so far. I'd shot a music video, a product ad and a few CZcams videos with it without any issues.
Let's not forget the GH5 also had it's issues.
Panasonic tried to outdo themselves with the GH6, but ended up with an overspecd camera that works fantastic only when you know how to work your way round it.
I still even prefer the GH6 to the G9II, despite it being supposedly better than the GH6.
There's no perfect camera. There's perhaps only a good or bad eye behind every camera.
I had the chance to use a GH5 years ago, I was floored by how good it was (and still is), even the GH4 remains a solid choice. Another proof that newer doesn’t mean better, the very reason why I will keep my old hardware (a 5D Mark II) for as long as I can… yes, it’s old, it’s clunky, there’s not all the latest bells and whistles, but, it still makes great results if you know how to make the best of it, it does what it’s fucking told, and crucially, it never let me down. The only downside, nowadays, is that it cannot shoot more than 1080p30 (at least natively, I do know about Magic Lantern of course), but it’s enough for what I do. Even more so on stills (its primary use… it’s a DSLR after all), if you can operate a camera reasonably well, you don’t need cutting-edge and expensive camera bodies.

I have one of it's ancestors and I do a little bit of ancestor worship from time to time.
Lumix does this now and then, they contribute to a perfect camera, no one notices, and they forget how to do it for a few years.... maybe longer... then they do it again. It's really random, and most people don't notice so these Cameras barely make a blip in the reviews.

I still have and use the GH5 since it came out. Never bought v-log and using HLG. Other than missing 10bit 50fps and v-log, the camera is superb. Hopefully the GH7 won't be that bad.
I don't even use the leeming lut, just Davinci and CST my way around.
4:14 is that just automatic screen brightness like on phones, or is that wacky attempt at dimming so the white letters do not leak light?

I went from my GH4 to a BMPCC6KG2. I find it a great (if pricey) upgrade.
The only bit I miss is the ability to do timelapse with longer than 1/5 second shutter. Apparently, this is a known limitation imposed by the sensor provider and cannot be changed with firmware updates according to BMD.
Oh, and yeah... It is a fair bit more bulky and eats batteries for snacks.
But the images are worth the hassle for me. And since I still have the metabones adapter, I can still use the GH4 for long shutter things. Also, the UI in this big bulky thing is probably the best UI I have seen in a camera. Just, everything that I need where I need it without having to go on cryptic menu diving for everything.
So... That's my two cents. That maybe it's time to separate the fields a bit again. Find a video camera that is built for video, and have a stills camera built for still fotography.

Fuji user here. Wife is Canon user. Manufactures so often miss the mark with minor issues that can become big deal breakers for certain workflows. I feel like they should accept more public feedback from users for consideration when implementing new features at the expense of others.
I feel like Fuji kinda missed the mark by making the X-H2 and X-H2S two different camera’s. Why not just have the X-H2S?
When my Lumix GF5 dies, i'm picking up a GH5.
When I bought my Nikon Z9 I gave up all ideas about making money back to pay for the camera, it just wasn't going to happen.
Posy, you need to check that new Sony α9 III with full-frame global shutter sensor, I think it might have some worship-grade features for your usage case.

Problem is that most of new cameras do lots of useless software processing and effects that are good only if you use camera to make selfies or do onlyfans.... or other internet media stuff...
Also sony cameras are just.... bad. Its funny that for past... always, sony make OK hardware and they always have WORST software, as weirdly when other companies use their sensors they are pretty decent, but when sony use their sensors, its just like using 2010 phone camera.
Only way to get good camera today is... to wait 1-3 years and see what people find in them as even if you get top brand, top shelf model, you can find yourself paying for low end camera fitted in high end body with lots of software features advertised as "premium" when hardware is the same as 200 buck model...
I can notice, too much "sorry" being said... Lazy Sorry
