    Fantastic improvement Lily! It's amazing what self confidence can do when you need it, right? Learning and understanding the flow, practicing it, see that it works as advertised pays dividends.
    One trick while going up hills on the GT is that when you feel it slowing down and coming to the end of the energy band, push down on the back to lift the nose up slightly and push down again. The front end torque on the GT will give a quick boost for the hill which more than compensates for the brief loss of power when you're pulling up. You only need to move the nose up and down by about an inch.
    When you repeat it several times, it's like a sewing needle on a sewing machine, up and down, up and down. I call it "threading". Threading like this is how I overcome some of the steeper hills in my area without having to slow (or stop) and switch to Elevated or even traversing up the hill (going side to side, where the turns are tricky). In a way, it's a bit like using a long board on a pump track where you're absorbing the rises and pressing down into the dips.
    Practice on flat ground at slow speeds, get used to the feel of the power band, as it can be a bit scary at first, especially if you're thinking you'll nosedive (you shouldn't). You can feel each forward surge is bringing a little extra something. This also works, to a degree with the other boards, but not as well, as that extra horsepower makes a world of difference.

      Cool tips, will try this on the thicker sand on the beach. Have tested the XR and Gt in thick sand at same PSI and it seems they are about equal in ability to go through the thick stuff, the extra torque in the motor in the Gt helps it power through but the XR's higher tire sidewalls seems to help it go through easier, so it evens out. Will try the "threading" technique , see if it makes a difference with the GT, because XR will most likely stall.

    Good stuff great video, what PSI are you running the tire at? I dropped my GT slick to 12 PSI from 18PSI and feel I am getting better control offroad. It seems the treaded seems to be a little harder, a little more bounce, more grip on trails but a little more bounce at even PSI. Seem to be mixed feelings which tire is better for trails. On the pavement seems hands down the slick is the better choice. Idea for video slick vs tread, but at same psi (There is not that many GT slick or treaded comparison) PSI in the tire makes a huge difference on type of ride.

    Sometimes ig we all forget not everyone knows how to race / pick lines .. to some of us picking the smooth lines is naturally and for others it needs to be taught .. lily been trying to ride the rough all this time 😭😭😭😭

    Are you shooting with a Sony Cam? That Ibis stabilization kills me with micro vibrations. I can’t use them for FPV flying for the same reason.

    What setting should you be in on dirt/grass? I just put my 40th mile on the board (GT), slick tire. I tried to go thru short flat grass and unless I have momentum it barely moves. Tried Flow and Highline mode and no torgue to move me. No issue on paved hills though and I have some really steep ones in my neighborhood. Newbie here btw! I'm 215 lbs so well short of the limit.

      @ScotMendenhall  Před rokem

      all settings are great for grass. How long is this grass? When riding on grass you need to give it a little more power than on pavement

      @@ScotMendenhall Not long. Maybe you need to rock the board or get momentum first? I'm also 215lbs

    Do you think there is anyone out there brave enough to see how fast a onewheel can go down hill. 🤔 I'm from Washington State and I'm visiting Southern California and the hills here are insane! It all depends on weight determines your stopping power. My heavy ass it doesn't take much speed for me to tail drag brake on steep declines.

    • @josephbarker7933
      @josephbarker7933 Před 2 lety

      Steep hills are tricky. If you go too slow and lean back you drag your tail and lose all control. If you are more aggressive and keep your weight forward you maintain control...but go faster.
      Fight the urge to lean back! Say no to tail drags!

    Is anyone having issues with thief GT turning off over bumps. Future Motion will do not but send it back not fixed. I’m sick of falling and not trusting my GT.

    I think I go faster when I feel safe and I feel safe when I'm wearing all my gear. I bet with wrist guards, gloves, elbow pads, pants and sleeves Lily would Bee sub 1: 30 Flying.
