Nice video, I've got to figure out how to get the S turns consistently when I'm going quickly. It's interesting, I generally tend towards algs with wide moves, and these are my preferred algs for these cases as well though my S could use some work. It was nice to see your finger tricks, because those will definitely help.

I will be honest, I tried some of these algorithms and they were much better. I still struggle with S moves, and I will admit I used to be one of those people who think that S moves should not really exist. This has shown to me that S moves are equally as important as other moves. I was just too lazy to learn these algorithms.

What lubricant do you use?
I honestly love your execution style. But I can’t deal with so many S moves. I feel vindicated though, because I’ve been one of those people saying dot cases aren’t that bad at all. Nice to see you co-sign that opinion

I did pinch U for like a full year before I switched to push S so you’re not the only one
@@BrinaSun I also do pinch U, push would be awkward and I'm glad that I'm not totally wrong.
Lol push S’ then push U is better than normal S push U which is better than normal S pinch U

@@BrinaSun I probably won't switch. It's likely not a make-of-break factor in my solves and working on other things gives me a better ROI.
An idea for the future. Show algs beginning and ending with aufs and talk about "if that finger was overworked I'd do it like this instead" (from the start of algs)

My alg for OLL 20 is basically (R U R' S R U' R') but expanded into a different cross OLL (L F R' F' L F R F')
It looks like this: L F R' F' L (R U R' S R U' R')
It also comes from OLL 17.

Do you have any videos you'd recommend that just list out fingertricks you think are important to know before learning algs like these? I honestly feel like not knowing how to properly use your hands and move things around on the cube is one of the biggest barriers

Brian, as someone who is really proficient at dot OLLs, do you still bother to sledge last pair to avoid dots? most cubers, myself included, will sledge the last pair to avoid a dot case, but if you can execute all the dot cases really fast, maybe it is not even worth it anymore?
I do sledge when I see the opportunity but if I don’t then I don’t try to avoid a dot

If it’s a U2 I’ll do the inverse alg

I know the S moves are very fast but I’m not used to them is there any specific way to make them faster in my solves? Because I have a very heavy turning style my S moves end up being a problem more than a benefit. Most of the times trying S moves they end up being f moves (fat F moves).
I can't do algs with f without locking up yet, which alg should I use for second and third cases on this videos meanwhile I practice those to get good
