It doesn’t really bother me per say…but it is glaring that the Ghost Host explicitly says the ghosts don’t appear till the Ballroom scene so it creates a contradiction

They are before the ballroom

And the floating luminaire & the green foot steps on the stairs
As I recall the guy in the coffin isn’t a ghost which is why he’s scared he’s being nailed in. All the other you mentioned don’t appear…they’re invisible with indications
It’s cool that the Hatbox Ghost is now featured in Florida’s Haunted Mansion‼️👻
I'm glad they got this effect working, but I agree with the people who hate where he was placed. The endless corridor right next to him is incredibly distracting; why isn't he in the ending of the ride?
Not a lot of room to place him elsewhere

Space is an issue or is it because there was no power source

They can’t put him in the graveyard scene or perhaps the ballroom but what they can do it stick him by endless hallway?
How is that practical?
It doesn’t even look aesthetically pleasing from any angle
It seriously makes the scene look like a prop for a gift shop
He could’ve easily been placed in the same position as they did in Disneyland. They’re simply trying to tie this version in with the movie, where he appears in the hallway. Big mistake. Once again, Disney imagineers messed up. First, the interactive queue in the Mansion, then Splash Mountain & now this.
My only complaint is it's two major special effects competing for attention in the same room right next to each other.
It conflicts with the narrative though

To be fair, we already saw a phantom pianist and skeleton hands in the conservatory, but yes, they should move him into the attic where he was originally intended to be .

“When hinges creak in doorless chambers…” I am so giddy watching this…not just for Hattie…but this is a chance again to see a great video of my favorite attraction at MK!! 4K, your height is so great for getting your views above the crowds!! give clearer view of the environment in limbo…the boarding area. I like the Hatbox ghost in the same room as Constance instead of right at the beginning, but having the Hatbox ghost in an undesirable spot is much better than not having the Hatbox ghost at Walt Disney World. Why should Disneyland have all the fun? The Hatbox ghost debut at Walt Disney World's Haunted Mansion was long overdue. Thank you for uploading this!
Yeah. WDW should have him too, though.. how he's working mechanically there is a bit more off.. he's a lot stiffer than usual, and his effect isn't very smooth. My first suspicion would be that the imagineers didn't have enough time to adjust his effect or flow controls.. but who knows? maybe he'll get more maintenance as time runs on.

"Why should Disneyland have all the fun?" --- Because our park is better. I say it in jest, but I do actually prefer DL's version of Space, Pirates, Mansion, and Small World. Also we still have ToonTown and Mr. Toad.

This conflicts with the narrative and takes away from the drama of the rest of experience basically for being too much too soon

Disney why? WHY? The Hatbox ghost needed to be when your going backwards down the hill. This doesn't make sense of the story its telling. There's even an empty spot to your right, that's where I thought it was going to go.

🎩He must now pay rent for all of Nov. deciding to show himself 11/30🤨 At least you got a lightning lane to get in but the line didn't seem horrible . Did they speed the ride a notch? You barely get to see the effect of the head moving if you don't strain right to look. I like that his cane hand moves & have no idea if DL's does that but neither will have me sit up like that Phantom does. I love him but would terrorize kidsThx, bet you didn't think you'd be doing that yesterday. 💜
Haha yea it was funny how he just made the November deadline. It does come and go pretty fast honestly, anyone who gets stopped in that exact spot is very lucky! I’m glad he’s finally here but the Phantom from DLP will always be my favorite. Thank you so much Liz, it definitely was a surprise yesterday 😂

At Destination D23, an Imagineer addressed this…that Hattie has always been there…but hiding…so still only 999

Yes the Hatbox Ghost - so much better with the faces done with digital screens instead of the old way with real objects, looks like TV but makes more spooky.

Excellent video quality....as usual. We'll be there in less than two months!!!!! @14:20. That particular wall we would have our daughters' sit on the edge and we'd take a photo of them. We did this every trip to Disney World. This was back when they were kids. Now, they have their own daughters. My daughter said she's going to do the same thing. 😃

I haven't been to Walt Disney World before, but I must tell you that The Haunted Mansion is a little bit different than I thought on behalf of watching the new and improved version of the ride video on your CZcams channel. Who are your favorite characters from the dark ride? What are your favorite scenes from it?
I don’t really have any favorite characters but my favorite scene is probably the library one!

This is the only Disney attraction that I dream about on a regular basis. There's just something about it that makes it unforgettable. I despise the fact that I must blink while on this ride. It's a waste of my eyes. There's so much to take in.

Why does the hatbox ghost show up before the seance? It throws off the entire mood and flow of the attraction. The ghosts aren't supposed to fully materialize until the last half of the ride. Just goes to show how little Disney cares about paying attention to detail anymore.
Then put your money where you mouth is and don’t go to the parks. But you won’t. You will be in line for another overpriced popcorn bucket and limited edition cupcake.

@theimagineer7672 That's incorrect. I don't have a problem with the Hatbox Ghost, but if his location is now contradictive and detrimental to the attraction, then yes; in this case, it would be better to not have him at all.

Maybe one day the haunted mansion could also become a retheme into something more mysterious. So far Tiana's bayou adventure is coming soon as a redesign of splash mountain

Question: I've not heard of the "Hatbox Ghost". Where did it come from, and why is it so important that it is in the Haunted Mansion (forgive my ignorance - I don't watch any movies from Disney anymore)?

The Hatbox ghost was actually a Disneyland exclusive in the attic scene! We were supposed to get it here in years past, but issues with our version here just didn’t allow it. I guess they figured out a solution to finally bring it here, but ours is in the Endless hallway scene instead of the attic. Merry Christmas to you and yours Ken!

The camera guy is different from the other vids on here. He, she, they (whatever) is panning way too much compared to previous vids. My favorite part of this ride back when I was 8 years old was the floating candlestick in the beginning of the ride. Unfortunately that new hatbox ghost is right next to it now. Unfortunately as time goes on, this ride gets more 'dumbed down'. Sign of the times...
