X-T3 has been my video and stream cam for 5 years now and still is!
it lacks only IBIS. But no big deal. Really still relevant in 2024.
Fuji XT-3 with L grip a camera sold in high numbers for a reason. Great value at 1.500 euros back in 2019. My XT-2 also an amazing camera bought in 2017. Noticed Fuji XT-5 price dropped from 2.000 to 1.700 euros just recently. Don’t need 40mp sensor for my photography
most of people can take a good picture without IBIS, so not really big problem
I’ve have the xt3 for a year now and using it on weddings all year has been fantastic. Hoping to add the Xh1 or another xt3 to my kit. Did one wedding video this year and it was awesome. No complaints.
It’s great man! Second camera would be really nice for a wide angle or portrait lens for sure, whether is not on your main camera.
The fact that X-T3 has H265 10 bit 4:2:0 internal recording is what really sticks out for me, when I got my XT3 in 2018 With a Ninja V you can really step up. The 16mm lens in magic as well. Just use a gimbal for steady shots. Manual focus is suggested.
Yes it is..... I love my X-T3!!
Since 2019 until now 2024 I still also use XT3 frequently for both Still and Videos (small clips for Instagram Stories). It still makes wonderful pictures. For me IBIS is not a big deal. Pairing XT3 with a speed booster and with vintage glass gives me feeling of using the analog camera, really love the experience. Only downside of the XT3 for me is only the battery life.
I totally agree. You will probably have bunch of batteries but wanna give a suggestion. I try solving the battery issue with a power bank. If I’m going outside for a long time with my camera, I bring my power bank and type-c cable with me. I generally plug type-c cable in when I’m not using the camera, like walking or talking to other people. Camera charges over time and I can save the day with a single battery.
@@thequirkyengineer Oh that's really good idea with the power bank. I usually carry 2 batteries is enough for carry around. Power bank is quite a good solution.

Planning to add XT-3 and one or two primes as a travel camera. I have been traveling with my R5 and occasionally my X100V. While I do appreciate the versatility of the R5. My shoulder often hurts after a long hike with it.
I agree. I often put heavy gear in the bag and never took them out. Having a simpler camera and maybe 1-2 lense is great for me when traveling.
Great video!!! Maybe you can help me to decide. I used shot with the canon 6d mk1 for work, but i'm not working with fotography anymore. So today have the X-T10 for past 20 years (almost!) e use it for travel, landscape and fun... it is very fun and i really love it. But I need a little more megapixels, just a little more. I'm inclined to get the canon RP (full frame), because of the influence of a friend, a canon user friend. *Would you recomend the Fuji XT3 over the canon RP?*
Thanks a lot mate! First of all, we should talk about your needs. If you will record video, I would recommend xt3 right away. It’s a great video camera imo. But, if you will only do photography, then it gets complicated. I would say you will get similar experience with xt3 as your loved xt1. It will be the newer and better version of what you used to for almost 20 years! But if your friends tries to influence, maybe you can try his/her camera first to see if you like it. Or, if your friend has sick lenses, maybe choosing canon might be a better choice since you can switch gear. Also, you should consider the color science if you shoot jpg mainly. Images coming out of canon and fuji differs a bit. Other than that, they’re pretty close in terms of image quality, if you get quality lenses. Sone canon lenses are not that sharp, but fuji has a reputation for making sharp and nice glasses on all the price ranges. As a plus, xt3 has more features thus would probably be a little more expensive.
To sum up, I would probably go with xt3, just because it has more features and improved version of a good camera (xt1 and xt2).

The good experience of use a FF in the past created a little doubt in my mind. So I will try to make a test on the RP before to decide. If it's not possible I'll probably go for the XT3. Just bought one with the battery grip, it is still very viable in video
Cong on your new camera mate! It’s a decent video camera still to this day and you’ll find a lot of joy using it. I haven’t use the battery grip but heard people saying it also improves grip a lot. Looking forward to listen your experience on that :)
Hey, I'm looking to switch to Fuji from a Canon 90D. My options are either an XT30ii brand new for USD 895 or a new XT3 which has been sitting on the shelf of a local camera store for USD 1,065. I'm concerned that the XT3 has been on the shelf for quite a while now. I wanna know if that factor will affect the reliability of the camera in the long run or not and also what would you suggest out of the 2. (The pricing mentioned above is Indian rupees converted to USD)
Hey mate! That's a tough one. First, are you only interested in capturing photos? In what condition xt3 is? Maybe learn its shutter count if possible. Sitting on the shelf is ok as long as the camera is in good condition. Mine was sitting on the shelf for 2 months but in excelent condition. I had no doubt before buying. If you feel not good about it when you hold it or don't trust the dealer, I would suggest xt30ii brand new. In a year or 2, you can sell it and get xt4 or xt5. If the condition is ok, xt3 has more feature of course but they're really similar cameras in terms of image quality. xt3 has more features on video and if you only shoot photos, that's not even important for you. Then, I will recommend xt30ii for the given price point :)
@@thequirkyengineer Thanks for the reply, the XT3 is actually new it is a seal packed body but the box was opened as the camera store sold the kit lens to someone. And I mainly shoot photos. Video is not on the top of my priority list. But my main concern is the size. I tried the XT3 it feels good in the hand but I'm not sure about the xt30 since they don't have a demo unit. Is it a big difference? Or XT30ii will be enough
@@HarshNaik17 Oh now I see now. I had XT200 before, a smaller camera than XT3 and closer to XT30. I prefer the XT3. Just because the handle is slightly larger as the camera. Other smaller bodies feels a bit small on my hand. In this website (cameradecision.com/compare/Fujifilm-X-T30-II-vs-Fujifilm-X-T3) in "Fujifilm X-T30 II vs Fujifilm X-T3: Physical Specs and Body Features Comparison" section, you can see their size difference in real measurements. Both depth, height and width getting larger, making it easier to hold. And XT3 has a bit better build quality, dual sd card slots, extra buttons, making it a well spend extra 150 usd for you if you decide buying XT3 over XT30ii. If the weigth is a concern though, XT3 would definitely be heavier and a larger camera. If you want even better grip, you can buy a battery grip for XT3 as well.

this is the sign to switch from my Sony a6300 to XT3
It might be! As I know, a6300 and xt3 from a similar year. But, phone connectivity of a6300 is not existed. Correct me if I’m wrong. I’m using that a lot and that is a big W for me. If you aren’t invested in lenses on sony, fujifilm worth a look mate. If you plan to go full frame, don’t do fujifilm. Stick with sony :)
I film on the XT3 with two SLR Magic MicroPrime Cine lenses; 35 and 17. All handheld and a monopod and it’s still worth it. Add a Ninja V and you can record ProRes 422 out of the HDMI. I don’t plan on updating it with a XH2s or even a FX30 despite those cameras having IBIS, the handheld shakiness adds a sense of realism to the shots. Also if I plan on replacing them with a Red Cinema Camera, I wouldn’t be complaining like most “cinematographer” wannabe’s for the lack of stabilization, I’d be ready to go since I’m already familiar with handheld shooting and Manuel focus pulling. You have to train yourself for the camera you want and projects you hope to work on. Imagine getting hired by a big major cinema company that primarily film handheld or on a Glidecam using ArriAlexas or Red Cinema Cameras, zero autofocus only manual focus pulling and you show up asking for an autofocus Sony and a stabilizer; you’d be fired on the spot.
Hi mate! Do you do all that on xt3? I’m impressed mate good job! Do you have any sample footage on CZcams or other platforms? I wonder how xt3 performs with cine lenses. And I agree with your point of view with handheld. It’s all about technique and how you use your gear. Even if you gave ibis or a gimbal, you can get bad footage if you don’t know what you are doing. If you do though, you can record sick footage with any kind of gear. I really wonder how xt3 shoots with cine gear though :)

Hey mate. I would go for fuji xt30ii. Fuji doing apc mirrorless cameras for some time now. And fuji’s lenses for apc sensor cameras is just amazing quality. And overall image quality of fuji and their jpegs is proven to have good quality. I don’t think nikon doing great on mirrorless apc market. I think its wise to invest on a grown platform, so that you can upgrade gear later on very easily. If you have further questions, feel free to ask mate :)
I had nikon z50. Zfc and z30 are basically the same camera in terms of specs. At the moment I have xt3. Xt3 and xt30ii are also very close when it comes to specs. Now difference between z50 and xt30ii are huge. The only thing that z50 is better is ergonomics everything else the fuji is much much better. And the lens choice at the moment for nikon apcs is just not close what fuji has to offer. If you are thinking of nikon get full frame body, apcs is not really good, for beginners who is starting and learning photography it is ok.
For your question Fuji is the answer.
I moved from Nikon to Fujifilm and I am not thinking about switching back. It is that good.
Dostum merhaba. Kısa film kursuna giden ve iletişim fakültesi öğrencisi biri olarak fotoğraf ve video çekimleri yapmak istiyorum. Bütçeme uygun olduğu için XT-3 ve 18-55mm OIS lens almayı düşünüyorum. Bütçemi biraz daha yükseltip XT-4 almam gerekir mi yoksa XT-3 mü almamı tavsiye edersin?

Öncelikle lensten başlayalım. 18-55 OIS fotoğraf için de iyi ama özellikle video için o fiyata çok başarılı buluyorum. Görüntüler çok stabil çıkıyor. Kesinlikle tavsiye ederim. Uzun süredir piyasada olduğu için de baya 2.el seçeneği vardı.
Kamera için de aralarındaki asıl fark IBIS. Xt3 şu an 16-18k, xt4 de 25-28k desek arada yine ciddi bir fark oluyor. Görüntü kalitelerini aynı olarak düşünebilirsin. Fark sadece IBIS’ın bir tık daha görüntüyü stabilleştirmesi. Bu da OIS olmayan lenslerle çekim yapıcaksan önemli olabiliyor. Veya karanlık ortamda fotoğraf çekerken bir tık sabitliyor lensi, daha rahat bir şekilde atıyorum 1/20 ile çekebiliyorsun. Ben kendim için zaten aşırı hareketli sahneler çekmediğim için ve kamera genelde tripod üzerinde olduğundan xt3 tercih ettim. O aradaki 10k farkı ilerde gimbala yatırsan mesela ibis’ten çok daha iyi yatırım olur. Kamera upgrade ettikten sonra bile gimbal’ı kullanmaya devam edebilirsin. Veya eksik ekipmanın varsa, çanta, mikrofon vs bunu tamamlamaya çalışabilirsin. O yüzden benim tavsiyem xt3 olur. Dediğim gibi önemli olan senin tekniğini geliştirmen ve diğer eksikleri de tamamlaman yönünde olcaktık. İlerde bu işten para kazanınca xt4, xt5 veya sony r3 falan ne istersen alırsın :)

Şimdi buna alternatif 5d mark3 ve 24-105 L set nasıl sence? Aynı fiyat bantlarına geliyor. Bu iki alternatifi karşılaştırınca imaj kalitesi açısından fark olur mu? Yoksa ben xt lerden devam edeceğim hafif oldukları için. Veya daha farklı önerilerin var mıdır mesela canon tarafında r10+kit lens gibi veya eos rp + ef lensler gibi. @@thequirkyengineer

Öncelikle 5d mark3'ten başlayalım. Bence artık yatırım yapacaksan aynasız makinelerden gitmen daha sağlıklı olur gibime geliyor. Full-frame oluşu cazip geliyor ama güncel teknolojilerde aynasızlar çok daha öne geçti ve bence APS-C de olsa aynasız candır. Fiyat aynı olsa da fuji veya canon ekosistemine girdiğinde lensi sabit tutup makineyi her zaman günceliyle değiştirebiliyor olacaksın. Ama 5d mark3'te biraz daha limitli kalabilirsin. Bunun dışında imaj kalitesi megapixel olarak aynı olduğu için yakın kalacaktır fakat yüksek ISO'da kalite, siyahların derinliği vs. gibi konularda fark olmasını beklerim. Babamda d7200 vardı. Onunla karşılaştırınca arada çok fark gözlemlemiştik, xt-3 çok daha iyiydi bu konularda. Birde color science konusu var. Fuji'deki renkleri ben daha çok seviyorum Nikon'a göre, bu da tamamen tercih meselesi :) Hafiflik konusunda da kesinlikle haklısın. 5d mark3 full-frame olduğu için kendisi de lensleri de ağırdır diye düşünüyorum. Bu karşılaşmada hem hafif olduğu için rahat çekebileceğin hem de aynasız olduğu ve bir sürü yeni teknolojiyle dolduğu için Fujiyi seçerdim.
Canon konusu da biraz tercih meselesine giriyor. Mağazalarda R10'u denemiştim ve malzemesi XT-3'e göre biraz daha basit gelmişti. Birde canon kit lens'leri bana çok kalitesiz geliyor en azından denediklerim. R10'daki de çok hoşuma gitmemişti. Fuji'deki 18-55 ve 16-80 müthiş kaliteli lensler. Hiç kit lens gibi hissettirmiyorlar. Eğer imkanın varsa media marktta genelde R10 oluyor. Fuji store'larda da XT-3 olmasa da XT-4 veya XT-5 deneyerek nasıl hissettiğini tecrübe edebilirsin dostum. Benim tercihim yine Fuji olurdu. Eos RP yorumlarda biri sormuştu da onu canon'un ilk full-frame aynasız olduğu ve bazı şeyleri eksik yapıldığı için tavsiye edilmediğini gördüm. İlk çıktığı tarihte bile zayıf bir makineymiş. Çok seveni yok gibi :D
Çok Fuji övdük ama gerçekten çok güzel fotoğraf makinesi olduğunu düşünüyorum. Ekosistem olarak da Fuji sadece aps-c yaptığı (medium format saymıyorum) için nerdeyse tüm enerjilerini buraya veriyorlar ve çok fark ettiriyor. Şimdi kit lens alıp ilerde prime vs ekledikten sonra ilerde xt-5 falan da rahatlıkla alabilirsin. 40mb sensörün ve güncel body almış olursun. Ekosistem geliştirmeye çok müsait limitlemiyor bizi. Fuji dışında da sony a6400 ve benzerlerini önerebilirim. İlerde full-frame sony istersen a6400 ve serisi APS-C olmasına rağmen full-frame lensleri destekliyor. Mount yeri aynı. Onlar da güzel tercih olabilir. Ama xt-3 fiyat bandı iyi, full-frame bize çok gelir diyorsan Fuji bence sektörün en iyisi şu anda.

Ekosistemde hem kaliteli hemde uygun fiyatlı. Bir sürü prime, zoom lens var xf serisi. Ben o zaman ucuza denk getirip bir modelden başlayayım. Lens olarak xf 18-55, 16-80 den hangisinden başlayayım sence? Birde tavsiye edebileceğin, mutlaka bulunsun dediğin prime lensler hangileri fuji tarafında acaba?

Yes, it is still a decent camera. It is more photo centric though. If you will record video, you should look into xt3 or xt4 mate
Ibis is a recent added feature, never missed it before. Lenses have stability built in. Mine has 5 stops worth. Learn your camera settings.
Yes, indeed mate. Lens are also great way to increase stability on your camera. It's especially great if you stack it with ibis. At the end of the day, all increase staiblity and resulting less footage going into trash :)
Not if you shoot with primes, if you can have ibis then why not?
I have xt20, and I'm planning to have this xt3 as an upgrade for wedding and events photography 😊
It’s a huge upgrade made. You will love it 😊 It’s still used in wedding photography. Friend of mine uses xt3 with fast prime lenses and gets great results even in low light places.
My Autofocus stop working not sure why, any ideas?
Can you check the switch on the lens side of the camera and on bottom right? Maybe you accidentally change that from S or C to M. Try switching back to Single or Continuous, it should work 🤞🏻 Otherwise we can continue try solving :)
@@thequirkyengineer I was fooling around with the camera and its settings and ranged focused the camera and forgot to change it back, thanks for the reply anyway.
xt3 is a camera that will have a pic quality that will last longer than 10 years. but then, at this level, what matters is the quality of the lenses. buy a second hand xt3, then a really expensive lens. thats the true about all this issues about cameras.. my canon 60d from 2009 is still great because of the L- lenses i have.

It's a camera and it produces images, so yes. I used a Canon rebel t6 since 2017 and recently sold it to someone who will also use it for the next couple years probably.
