The show is a half-hour, single camera series based on the 1999 film of the same name.
The Stratford sisters are new to Padua High, but they already know one thing: Strategy is everything. Bianca (Meaghan Jette Martin) is a beautiful social-butterfly determined to climb the heights of popularity, at any cost. Kat (Lindsey Shaw) is a strong-willed, in-your-face feminist who is looking to save the world and get out of high school as fast as she can. But the sisters soon realize it's never smooth sailing when you're navigating through a world filled with duplicitous head cheerleaders like Chastity (Dana Davis), love-struck nerds like Cameron (Nicholas Braun) and an over-protective dad (Larry Miller). Things only get more interesting as interactions with the school's mysterious bad boy Patrick (Ethan Peck) start to shake things up.

It actually was really interesting, and an attention grabber- but that’s just me! I’m just saying I didn’t think I would like it, but it’s pretty awesome. I’m sad it got cancelled so quickly. The movie was good too.

BRING THIS SHOW BACK ABC FAMILY I NEED IT NOW!!!!!
I love the movie like crazy and was prepared to hate the TV show, but it's a lot better than it looks -- once you get past the first couple of episodes and the fact that Heath Ledger, Julia Stiles and Joseph Gordon Levitt are /not/ in this version (which does take some getting used to) you're treated to a wonderful Kat Stratford with a great romance storyline. Also, Joey is awesome. He's actually a good guy.
I'm loving this serie, so far.
There is always a place for something fresh.

i didnt think i would like this show cause the original was so FANTASTIC, but the show is pretty awsome and the funny part is the dad in the original movie plays the dad on the show.

The TV series was actually really good in my opinion, of course the original will be better, but this wasn't bad at all.
I don't understand how anyone can be bad-mouthing this show when it hasn't even premiered yet. Grow up people! Obviously it's not going to be as good as the movie, but you shouldn't bad-mouth it by just watching the promo. Don't judge a show by it's trailer! :)

I gotta say i was really pissed at first but when i actually gave the show a chance I loved it. it's nothing like the movie which is why it's good. It's just based on the same storyline. I didn't get the feeling anyone was trying to be like the original actors. They made it their own. And Ethan Peck is really good as Patrick Verona. I love him and Lindsey together. They actually have more chemistry in my opinion so everyone just lightn up.
was 15 when this came out... cut school one day to see it with my friends... got grounded for that one... it was WORTH IT! ...and now they're turning it into this. Might've been a nice idea if they actually cast actors that could... hmmmm, i don't know... ACT!?!?!?!

This is probably the best drama I've seen in awhile since I actually bothered to watch all the episodes!
It is nothing like the orignal movie (which was also great). It's light funny and not heavy on the sex/drug crap which you find a lot nowadays.
Ethan Peck has one deep voice! 0.0 so dam sexy.....

I actually loved the show. Of course the movie will always be THE movie and THE 10 things i hate about you.But the show is actually good. And you can see more of Patrick Verona's charm. ok it's not Heath Legder (he will always be the original Patrick Verona and anybody can take that from him and neither be better than him at it)but it doesn't stop being the 'bad boy' with a super and incredibly charm and sweet side who makes us even want more a guy like him in our lives. But maybe it's just me..

@milly2011 the movie was loose adaptation of The Taming of the Shrew and the tv show is loosely based on the movie,not the book, that's why you don't find any resemblance with it

No way can you make a tv show good enough to live up to the movie. Julia, Heath, Jo and Larisa own those characters. Only good thing about the show [potentially] is that it's got Larry Miller as the original dad in it.

we can't really do anything if the tv show is way different than the movie...after all, they were produced and shown 10 years apart...teenagers and their tastes will surely change...

larry miller is playing dr.Stratford, he played the same role in the original movie! But Patrick Verona will always be Heath Ledger forever! I really enjoyed the movie one of the best teen movies ever! that casting is okay, everyone remember it probably will not be as good was the movie so don't keep your expectations that high, but secret life suprised me as being good so why not this ABC serise.
