I absolutely adore stefan and know that he is the ultimate hero, but damon turns himself from a villain to a hero and Stefan helps him become that. Even tho Stefan sacrificed himself over and over again so did damon, especially in the last two seasons , he agreed to go in the cave all alone and made stefan leave , he gave himself over to Kade, and in the ends he is ready to die for mystic falls and Stefan. its no doubt, that Damon loves Stefan just as much as he loves Elena. Most of the time, when Damon screwed things over, he hated himself for that and wanted to make up for those things and the reason he left to desecate in the coffin is because he didnt wanted to make any more mistakes to hurt Stefan or Bonnie. Damon isnt a bad guy, he just struggles to be the ultimate hero and safe the day, even when he tries

Soo much is said between Damon and Stefan by just the looks in their eyes before Stefan runs. Paul and Ian did an amazing job in this scene you could feel he pain, fear and guilt from both of them and they didn’t say a word.

Why do the writers hate Stefan so much?? Lol like I know that he is the “hero” to the show, the “good brother” it’s not that he is so selfless and constantly (along with Bonnie) saving everyone but what irritates me is that after all of his selflessness the only real character that cares about him outside of Damon is Caroline. Literally out of all the other ensemble characters (Enzo, Bonnie, Tyler, Matt and Ric) they all seem to always care more about Damon then they do Stefan. Always seem to at some point have a grudge against him especially even though Stefan has been through and helped save all of them if not once, multiple times. I just don’t get it, they write him to be the selfless hero and then never have anyone else have his back. It’s exhausting as a fan of the character.
And in the books Matt was Stefan’s best friend and he was so accepting and sweet when he found out stefan’s true identity.

They dont need any mantra to remember their bond. When the time comes they will do anything for each other. Flashbacks are ICONIC : in the moment he was marked hw was thinking to the only reason of his life, the one makes hum happy and "changed his life", he thought about his costant Caroline and i remember the quotes : "Be happy" - Elena, "You deserve to be happy"- Valerie, "Try to be happy" Alaric.
All the epi was amazing for them and yes was damon's fault again and they lose everything and the possibility to be together for 3 years but their love come back even stronger and all the drabbles were amazing :D

People says that Damon was the one who was most broken But they don't see How broken was Stefan till his death ....He loved Women who Compelled him to love herself, Then when He turned a vampire His brother tell him that he will make his life a misery till the end ( and he did it ),He suffered a guilt that no one can imagine plus he is a vampire ( heighten emotions ), lived 141 years all alone, His brother killed his best friend but he couldn't bring himself to kill damon, damon doesn't stop here then he sacrificed his freedom to klaus and became ripper again, because of that klaus compelled him to turn off his humanity and ordered to feed on girl who he loved most in the world, when he was suffering for being ripper again and killing innocent peoples His brother damon gets his girlfriend and the fact that she even let him do, betrayed in love by two women's, its not enough when he got his true love and married her, he sacrificed his happiness for people he really loved from bottom of his heart fuckin damon and bitch elena....no matter what damon did in the end stefan was the one who was paying for damon did.

Y’all have to remember Stefans love for Damon was so strong because he felt responsible for making him drink blood that turned him into a vampire. Damon wanted to die. Stef also felt guilty because Katherine fell for him and just used Damon like a human blood bag. Stef had so much love and adoration for everyone… he possessed what even Elijah couldn’t hold for others- only his family. He was so special that even Raina was tortured by his pure heart as a older vampire.
