That's de clue of our staging and even it can answer your other question. The dialog is like this:
Conductor: Why did you throw a net into the pit?
Papageno: It was a non-existent network...
Orchestra Director: Nothing is non-existent in this opera

And suddenly, Papageno discover a pan-flute hanging from his neck.
From now on, everything is possible in this opera

This is a fairly good amateur performance but, if it’s professional, they should consider another profession.

Oh come on, man ................... It's a STUDENT production. Give them some credit!!!
They are actually quite good. The singing is excellent. So is the orchestra.
I have seen a lot of "professional" productions worse than this.
