The ceiling was GORGEOUS 🤩
Dan Aykroyd's dad was a ghost/paranormal hunter while he was growing up. When asked about his work with Ghostbusters he said, “It's the family business, for God's sake"
I thought I heard it was his brother who was a ghost hunter.
@@vincentstrack4933, it's the FAMILY business for God's sake!
@@fearlessjoebanzai didn't know about the father. I only saw an interview where he mentioned his brother. I wasn't criticizing, I just never heard of the father being interested in that work.
@@vincentstrack4933, I'm just teasing mate x
Reading the messages sometimes I miss read it. I actually didn't know. Thanks for the info. I just remembered the part about his brother. I didn't know his father was into it also. Wondering who got who into ghost hunting.
Awesome video. The Ghostbusters movies were my childhood. RIP Harold Ramis...aka Eguen Spangler
Little side note, it was only the basement scenes where they see the librarian ghost that was filmed at the LA library. The upstairs is in New York :)
Your right i was about to post that before i saw your comment
A few years back, a few friends and I got a tour of Rat Alley, the basement of the LA Library, from a gentleman who was there when they filmed.
That’s odd. Didn’t they film the outskirts in NYC? So they would have had to have flown a few thousand miles just to do that Basement scene?
They may as well have done it on a sound stage.
@@Predators--cz2fb Im sure all the LA stuff was filmed together and theyre werent just going back and forth for every scene.
You were born in 1979 I was born in 1980 and you made me remember some amazing things from my childhood...thank you.
Must be so cool to have a wife/girlfriend that digs the same shit as you?! I absolutely love all this nostalgic stuff, cant get enough. But my wife doesn't give a shit!!! Top video Grimm!
Im in the same exact boat with you. I love this type of content
Baby Ghoul is awesome!! Best video side kick ever!!
When visiting the Biltmore hotel you forgot to mention it was the last place Elizabeth Short' The Black Dahlia ' was seen alive. Since you did a video on her previously I was surprised you didn't mention it.
Two other spots you can check out in LA, are from Ghostbusters II when they are digging the hole in the middle of the street, and when they go to see the Mayor, that house, which was also used in The Big Lebowski if i remember correctly. Great video guys x
Dude. The stand in for Gracie Mansion is the loading dock at the Biltmore was also used in Stripes in 1980.
I've been to the firehouse in New York. It's still a working firehouse and they use the Ghostbusters logo as their mascot. It's a very cool place to visit!
They filmed Bill Murray, Paul Rudd & the others there for Good Morning America.
Did you know the birthday scene in Ghostbusters II was filmed on the 3rd floor of that L.A. Firehouse?
@Grimmlifecollective they do a haunted L.A. walking tour and the Biltmore Hotel is one of the locations they take u to.
The lady with her thumb up her nose in that photo is legendary comedian Martha Raye, known for entertaining the troops for many years and many movies, commercials and tv shows. She played Benita Bizarre on the 70’s kid show “The Bugaloos”
Ahhh back when hollywood used actual locations to shoot movies. Now a days you wanna visit a film set just buy a green curtain.
Oh my gosh, love these movies! I actually use the Ghostbusters theme as a ring tone for one of my contacts! 😁
If you drive by Sony studios going down Culver (westbound) you can usually spot the Ectomobile parked in the lot. You have to look between the gap in fence right before you hit the Overland light. I used to always see it being driven up and down Culver late at night. Got a video of it once right next to me. Pretty cool I think
Grimm i can't even begin to tell you guy's how much I enjoy watching your CZcams videos. I am a huge fan of Ghostbusters
The good old days. Ghostbusters is a great movie. I love watching it over and over again. I do miss Egon. I do like the female Ghostbusters too.
Dan having shown his paranormal experience in the movie makes me laugh every time. 😂😂😂😂
Ghost Busters is one of my favorite TV shows and movies. I have every one that came out
Cool video! Another neat side note of the firehouse.. it was also used to film Ripleys Auto in The Mask with Jim Carrey! Even the three wooden lockers are still there!! Lol good thing Ripleys didn't work on Ecto-1
Busting makes Me feel good,
But Grimm life Makes me feel even better.
Bustin nuts?
Woe Bro…
Woe
Ghostbusters is one of my all-time favorite movies. Wasn't a huge fan of the female version. Was a little too cheesy. But could have been worse. Love that you did this.
Yea, the female version was not as bad as I expected, nor was it as bad as most of these female redo’s.
Female Terminator redo ? No thanks.
@@kingdingaling2469 It was cosmetically bankrupt
@@StandWatie1862what does that even mean
@@kingdingaling2469 Movie was a comedy black hole.
Indeed and still wasn't as bad as these other turd remakes @@StandWatie1862
9:30/ Fun fact: Another 80's classic utilized this very hotel.... BACHELOR PARTY! Yup, the Tom Hanks comedy used the Los Angeles Biltmore Hotel for some of the interior AND exterior shots...
My favorite channel posting about my favorite movie....we love to see it
One can never escape the constant sound of leaf blowers!
Never! I swear if I make it to heaven there will be men with leaf blowers waiting as they open the pearly gates.
Cue the Curb Your Enthusiasm theme.
The Stay Puff Marshmelow Man is so cute and adorable. 😂😂😂♥️♥️♥️😁👍👍💜💜😍😍😍
Health and Safety Unsafe Emergency Fire Rod.
I miss the better days. Yes getting old. Brilliant movie and cast, always will be.
Thanks for exploring and sharing your experiences.
Great video! I didn't know the firehouse interior was back in L.A. Love your channel!
Love you guys watching now
I love y’all videos ‼️‼️y’all have lured me away from dearly departed tours😆
It's like Ray Parker Jr. said. Bustin' makes me feel good.
Theres many 80s movies i love watching every few years and both Ghostbusters 1 and 2 are on that list! I hated the remake with the girls but the most recent one with Paul Rudd was actually good! I still miss Egon. RIP Ivan Reitman. He was my favorite and his one liners always cracked me up.I also loved the cartoon as a kid.
The 2016 remake was far better than Ghostbusters 2. Even Bill Murray hated Ghostbusters 2
"You are def spookie." Her: *super friendly waves*
GRIMMLIFE GANG ALL DAY!!!
Great video guys. Did you know the bodyguard and the infamous banana scene from beverly hills cop was filmed there? There was a fire at the los Angeles library I guess the basement is no longer there.
I'd love to invite you two to be guests on our Haunted LA & Hollywood bus tour. You two were actually at one point standing in the most haunted little corner of the Biltmore. We've got more stories and facts about the place that I can tell you two would appreciate!
Would love to hear some 👻
side note: Black Dahlia used to hang out in the Biltmore Lobby - her last sighting was leaving the south east door exit
Wow? Thanks guys, what a beautiful hotel x
Omgggg yay I love ghost buster
This movie reminds of my childhood as well. The Biltmore is gorgeous. I'm so glad I found this channel. It is awesome!!!
What a Great Fun Movie 🎥🍿 Love those times in Movies ⭐💪
Love the channel. Appreciate all your efforts to line up shots (correctly). I’m an actor and also a huge film fan. Anything BTS or then and now still fascinates me even though some of them are films and tv shows I’ve actually been in. Fun facts about the Biltmore Hotel. Beverly Hills cop was also filmed there and the famous banana in the tailpipe scene was shot across the street on Olive next to Pershing square. The bar at the biltmore is also the last known place where Elizabeth was scene before she was murdered. I heard she frequented that bar a lot as it was her favorite. Keep up the good work. Thanks.
I didn’t know that about the Black Dahlia.
Very well put together video. Thanks!
Awsome my favourite film. Liking all the new vids at your location!
I can’t believe I missed this one! Awesome as usual
My favorite part about Ghostbusters is that Louis and Dana..... well, you know.. he was the Key Master.
Another amazing walk along adventure with the GLC.
Grimm for Life!
Glad you were able to tour the hotel. Great video.😎👍
I've been slimmed! Love the videos and keep them coming. Be safe and rock on
Awesome filming 👍 love your Ghostbuster shirt 👕
Hello from Guadalajara Mexico
I love all the videos you post!!! This is awesome!!
I love that movie. I used to have some of the ghostbusters backpack.
Wow incredible video!!!
The Biltmore Hotel was also the last place where they saw Elizabeth Short, AKA "The Black Dahlia" on January 9th 1947 before she went missing for a week and was found grizzly murdered on January 15 1947 on a vacant lot on South Norton Ave.
18:56 - I like her little eye brows :3
Dope video. Officially subscribed.
I ain't afraid of no ghost 👻, I remember that when the movie came out that there was a toll free number to call the Ghostbusters, great movie and great memories
This is awesome!! So cool they let you film that✌💙🙏
Thanks man. 1979 eh? I was born in 69. I really wish I had got to see GB in the theater, but I don't remember going to movies with my dad from 1982 to his death in 1990 when I was 20 - I think the last movie I saw with him was Quest for Fire when I was 12 in 1981.
Wonderful. I think the girl with her finger in her nose is Martha Raye,
You both are one of my favorite videos to watch I thought 💭 that your both was cool 😎 at the two events you were at this year
Dan Aykroyd's dad was into paranormal. Samuel Peter Aykroyd. He has a book published entitled A History of Ghost..
Awsome, well done, the eerie , ghostly links in the Biltmore too
The hand kills me every video
This is a great video yes that was a great movie thank you bringing back great memories
One of my good friends lived in the iconic CPW building and used to always hang out on the roof. That roof is much larger than what the set shown in the movie. But it was fun pretending the Stay Puffed Marshmallow Man came walking down Columbus Circle.
Beautiful video guys, ❤️
A lot of great history lesson about a great movie and then some. Awesome.
Really gourgous building! Cool past too:)
Also never knew that the crew and Dan Aykroyd and Mama Cass all both encountered poltergeist activity and also surprised the there were 2 famous people Mama Cass and the one from the National Lampoon that lived where Dan Aykroyd used to lived that definitely surprised me
That was cool. Nice video
Awesome video love Ghostbusters
Wow back to my childhood with this video Ghostbusters is the best
Good video grim life collective on ghost busters locations.
I love the Biltmore interior!!!
Never seen this before , great video !
We have a ghost cat. you feel it jump up on the bed and move around looking for a spot to sleep(if you have cats you will know the feeling when they do it). both me and the misses have felt it . I first thought it was 1 of our cats, but I would turn over to see which 1 it was and nothing was there. this happened about 5-6 times before I mentioned it to the misses. she straight away said I have also felt that . its only when we are alone in the bed and never together. I've now felt it around 20 times over the past 2-3 years .
Very cool. There is a light house in Ohio, the Fairport Harbor that gets appearances from a ghost cat 👻
❤️ Ghostbusters!! My favourite is Ghostbusters 2!
Both the Ghostbusters films 🎥 are the best. Sorry Indiana Jones.
Even though I was born in the 2000s I love Ghostbusters well any 80s movie they are just so creative it's so cool
Your video intros is the best...👍🏻
Another great video
That hotel is next level awesome, great vid, thanks.
Great video!!!
1:44 Dragnet came out in 1987, Ghostbusters came out in 1984, so I doubt it.
New sub here! Man i love that intro!
The lift scene in ghostbusters was from that hotel also. Great vid. 👍👍
This is friggin awesome guys!!! I LOVE Ghostbusters and Ghostbusters II !!!!! yaaaay!!! ♥️♥️💜♥️♥️
Will Ghostbusters 3 be the 1st of more ?? i`m hoping so or maybe a spin off TV show in the Cobra Kai type theme ? :):)
Best content ever!! Greatest movies !! ❤❤
Love this show ❤️
Brilliant guys as always
They also filmed an episode of The A-Team at the fire house called The Road to Hope
It was a homeless shelter Murdock speaks at
Very cool thank you
Hi from germany."Poltergeist"is a german word,also"Zeitgeist"Greetings from cologne,germany.
The Biltmore is not the inspiration for the overlook. The Stanley in Colorado is the inspiration for him writing that book
great video love that movie
The Biltmore Hotel also was in the Johnny Depp movie Blow
I love these guys beyond description!!!
Love your T shirts!
Wow...you two amaze me. Always enjoy your content and appreciate the hard work you put into them. This is one of my all time favorite movies 😊
I stayed at the hotel a few years ago with my outfit and gear. It was so much fun.
This is awesome!
