exact same thing happened here! scrolling through ebay for something unrelated and saw it for 50$ bought it just for season 1 and only realized it was a bootleg once i saw the disc cover art. im gonna replace season 1 discs so thanks for that idea! tbh though im really happy with just having the physical looking box set
@J.R. Spingly the difference is just in the quality of the video itself. these bootleg sets of Digimon all have the image degraded to a certain extent. any video disc ripped or "copied" from another source degrades in quality each time it is copied regardless of settings used. as far as making sure all discs work, i have not checked every single disc only checked every disc in season 1-2 but they all work fine, so no problems there. as far as the poster and the disc set "box" they are of high enough quality that they would likely fool the average consumer. honestly for 30$ more you can just get the authentic set and i would recommend it, its not that the bootlegs arent worth it but now that i have it i wish i would have paid the extra 30$ for the piece of mind of knowing i had the authentic product
It's good that Shout Factory , Cookie Jar, Mill Creek Entertainment, Viz Media, Funimation and other DVD comapany made a lot of Cartoons/Anime series from the 80's, 90's, 2000 and beyond in complete DVD collections over the years like Transformers, Power Rangers, Super Mario Bros, Miraculous Ladybuy and other animated series. But I still wished they have done something interesting for a changed like released some past Cartoons/ Anime shown in UK/USA/ Australia from the 90's, 2000 and beyond like: Cartoons: Blazin Dragons, Space cats, Starla and the Jewel Riders, The Addams Family, Creepy Crawlers,Mighty Ducks, Mary Kate and Ashley in Action, Biker Mice from Mars 1993 and Gormiti Nature Unleashed. Anime: Cardcaptors, Spider Riders, Yo Kai Watch and Ultimate Muscles. It may sound a lot to wished for but if you have some favourites Cartoons/Anime memories from your childhood like me then you would understand from what I'm coming from even though it's unsudden if it even going to happen in the future. I know a few of them were released into DVD in the past but none of them were in complete DVD collections like Transformers and Pokemon. I think it's about time that Shout Factory and other DVD comapany should think of making them into DVD because that could make them successful. But perhaps not on Blu Ray as some of us like myself don't have a Blu Ray DVD Player.
I bought one a few years ago and it looks similar to this but the disc print is not as washed out. Now I'm wondering if I got a fake. Searched for an authentic video but can't find one for comparison.
Do you know if the ones on Amazon are legit? They're $90 (CAD) so I assume they are compared to a few others for $60/$70 on ebay, but if it's out of print idk....
yeah i got scammed twice from this boxset. as a solution i bought each season that included with a slipcover. those ones are 100% offcial, and quality is perfect, almost HD like. at least the poster is good to look at lol
Oh yeah the quality is fine I’m just a big fan of actually owning the real set, the downside is the obvious cheap packaging this guy used and the faded artwork but otherwise I havnt had any issues, and considering the real set is out of print I think it’s fine, just really depends on how much you can let the fact this is a bootleg slide
@@CodysHOG Are you sure it's a bootleg? The packaging has always been a problem and disc print could have just been a way to cut costs. I've seen bootlegs and this looks to good to be a bootleg. Even the ones people buy directly from Amazon complain about the same things. I think Flat Iron just went cheap on the release of this product.
The thing is I’m almost certain it is a bootleg because the guy I bought from was the same guy I got my bootleg dragon ball z Blu ray set from I unknowingly bought the digimon set from him and I was pretty quick to notice the differences on the disc are being bleached out, and the text being blurry it looks poorly printed. I for the hell of it actually purchased the season 1 volume sets to compare and yes they are night and day.
I mean…I bought the same set, two of the cases came destroyed (mostly cause the guy put it into a tight box…) And so far all of the discs are pretty much clean, a few paint smudges on the disc art, but the copy right info is right, and the menu’s are all the same and open up fine, however when I put season 2 in and put episode 1 on, it has the tv-Y7 logo on, so yeeeeeah….bootleg…but it looks authentic enough I suppose.
It's legit, not bootleg. Flatiron releases are EXTREMELY low quality. The packaging is blurry, sometimes low ink, sometimes faded. The second print of some of them even cheaped out FURTHER by compressing the episodes to fit on 4.7gb DVDs rather than DVD9 like the first runs.

I hope you enjoy watching the rest of Digimon! It's my favorite anime. Are you planning on getting Data Squad,Fusion and the movie and the Tri series?

Can't seem to find any info on how many discs the official version is, but I'm gonna hazard a guess that it's not 32.
My Season 3 didn't come with a booklet. So I'm starting to question if my set is a bootleg too

I like your video and song too make me smile 🎵

How is the over all video and audio quality? If this is all you can find would you recommend picking it up?

Is the bootleg set bad? I want to buy the authentic one but it's so expensive and sold out.

Does it came with the Japanese dub
I remember watching it through the end of Season 2, and then after that it was just random episodes through the end of Season 5.
Is the audio and quality good? And is there options for Japanese audio with English subs? And are the subs accurate?
Its not a bootleg, its actually legit, but done on a budget.
I was gonna get this, it had been ordered for but they ran out of stock! :(
Português áudio?
This seasons are only in English? Need this set but in spanish.
I wish I never ordered it from Wish! :( One of the CDs doesn’t play properly at all! :(
Theme be jamming ngl
in which languages was it dubbed?
In English.
On disc 7 of Digimon Season 4, is the season “04” logo purple? When the rest are blue?
DVD printing issues, I guess...
