  • This is the story of the Jew community in Kerala. It's believed that the Jew community migrated to Kerala back in 68 CE. Whilst many of the Jew community left for Israel, the promised land, when it was established, some chose to stay back in Kerala. And they can be seen in the Jew Town in Ernakulam, where the vibrant ways of the community can be experienced. Here is a peek into their lives and stories.

    Kerala was the beating heart of the Ancient World. It was in the epicenter of every trade in the maritime silk road. It has been mentioned at least once by the Greeks, Romans, Persians, Chinese, Egyptians and many more. That is why it is a unique state in India with a diverse ethnic gene pool, culture and open-mindedness.

    • @KironKrishnan
      @KironKrishnan Před 2 dny

      You are wrong. While Kerala was in the centre of several maritime trade routes, the real reason for peace is that it was largely ruled by indigenous rulers. Even after the British Empire, Travancore remained outside direct British control, and as a result there was no cultural strife between communities.
      Goa, Bombay, Sindh, Punjab - on the other hand, contained same communities and even more. What was different was that, some among the other communities became violent oppressors, like in Goa and Punjab, and destroyed the cultural fabric.
      Kerala is one of the regions in India that has not come under direct foreign rule for most part of its history. And the perks of local Hindu rule is still visible.

      @plurabelle5 Před rokem +1

      They didn't move to Israel because they desire to go back to their land of origin. It is because of the ideology of Zionism, which gives (financial) incentives for Jews to move there. Most Jews around the world are opposed to Zionism. Religious Jews in particular are deeply against creating a Jewish state, which they see as expressly forbidden by the Torah - see Rabbi Dovid Weiss' interview on Al Jazeera. I also recommend the book The Last Jews of Kerala, which talks about why the Jewish community in Kerala died out and also talks about the experiences of some who emigrated to Israel. Israel is a deeply racist country; I know this from experience.

      Yes my friend. Also black Jews were the racist term used by the Paradesi Jews because of the skin colour. The malabar Jews synagogues are the proof as they are much older than the Paradesi synagogue.

      you claim your from Kerala but don’t know the history that they was proudly to tell about Solomons black Jews! I can’t believe you. Secondly, what the fuck is "Olive color" olives only come in two colors green and black! And I never seen no green people walking around! And have you seen what’s around the Arabian Peninsula! Egypt sedan and Ethiopia was all rules once by black people way before Ramsey bro north and south Egypt together in Ethiopians have a rich history in Judaism!
