To Make Rava Kichadi
Sooji / Rava - 1/2 Cup
Oil - 2 Tbsp
Chana Dal - 1 Tsp
Urad Dal - 1 Tsp
Mustard Seeds - 1/2 Tsp
Cumin Seeds - 1/2 Tsp
Cashew Nuts
Curry Leaves
Onion - 1 No.
Green Chilli - 1 No.
Beans - 2 Tbsp
Carrot - 2 Tbsp
Cooked Green Peas
Tomato - 1 No.
Turmeric Powder
Salt - 1 Tsp
Hot Water - 1 Cup
Ghee - 3 Tsp
Coriander Leaves
Method:
1. Roast the sooji ravva until it is golden brown in colour and keep it aside.
2. Take oil in a pan and add chana dal, urad dal, mustard seeds, cumin seeds and cashewnuts.
3. Add the curry leaves, onions, ginger, green chillies and cook until the onions are transparent.
4. Then add in beans, carrots, green peas, tomatoes and mix well. Add salt and turmeric powder.
5. Mix well and once the veggies are no more raw, add in the roasted sooji rava and roast for another 3-4 mins.
6. Add hot water and mix. Cover the pan with a lid and cook the khichdi for 5 mins.
7. Finally add ghee and coriander leaves. Mix it all again.
8. Simple yet tasty Rava Khichdi is ready to be served hot with coconut chutney by the side.

Hello...we usually have a roast dinner when family come along to eat with us.Some times roast porkor roast lamb with roast potatoes,roast parsnips,carrot and swede mashed,cauliflour,sprouts and gravy(many of the veg we have grown in the garden).Then if our bellies are'nt too full we'd have home made lemon miringue with cream. XX

This is Upma. Rava kichdi will be on a more softer side with more water. Usually with 1:3 rava water ratio.

Can you please tell us approximately how long do we have to cook the Rava?
You mean roast it or cook after adding the water. Roast it till it’s golden and then after adding hot water close and cook for 5 mins. Of your rava is bigger you can cook for a few more mins extra. Check and see if it’s done.
