Video for Steve Nalepa's Monday From Flatlands DVD 2007 Nalepa - stevenalepa.com note: this is the original version - for the Glitch Mob Remix see • Video
@cityincolors So for that, Glitch Mob gets my respect for respecting the original artist and not just for taking something simple and making it more appealing for MOST of the audience.
I am not liking this song because of all these people complainin', bad vibes, when this song is beautiful, so why don't you just listen, let the music fill you, embrace it and be happy
yall all callin this 12 yr old song bad, lemme tell yas i remember 2009, and this shit would have been pinpoint AESTHETIC at the time, shit aint bad its just very off its time and i respect it very much
-_- mfw all these people failed to realize that the glitch mob must have liked this song in order to remix it...therefore it must have some musical quality.
@freezermasterxy Listen to the light synth in the very beginning. The Glitch Mob took that and reworked it to be the same instrument (like a xylophone) in their mix. They play very loose with their remixes, but I suppose that's what remixes are for.
@rossdinnett Actually Glitch Mob turned wine into Kool Aid. We're all born loving sugar; it takes time to acquire the taste of a fine wine. With music, we're all born with an ability to appreciate simple melodies and four/four time signatures; we're all born with the ability to appreciate nursery rhymes. It takes effort and an acquired taste to appreciate Beethoven. Glitch Mob took Mozart and turned it into Mother Goose.
It's amazing what one artist can transform another artist's creation into. This is soothing and sweet, whereas the remix is pulsing and filled with energy. Both very different and beautiful.
i don't understand the fuss. This is just as lovely, why insult the creator? This song obviously inspired their remix so we wouldn't have one without it.
@CJoMin the definition of music is organized sound. So technically yes, this is music. But music is also an expression of the soul and a reflection of neurological depth. It's like the difference between an epic poem and a youtube comment. This song is a musical comment, but nothing more.
Sometimes it takes a pebble to get the stone rolling. I'm guessing Glitch Mob listened to this song and wanted to sample the little melody it has. Imagine if they hadn't credited this song (and called it an original track instead of a remix)... Someone who knows both song would make a big deal about how it's "plagiarized." It's all about crediting the source :). It doesn't have to sound like the original song entirely, but a simple tune can inspire greater creations~
I don't know why it is called Glitch Mob Remix, it has nothing to do with this. Thumbs up, if you wanted to know what is the origin of the Glitch mob remix and are now dissappointed...
My brain can't comprehend what this song is or what it means... But it would be sweet to see, maybe a short film that uses both this one and Glitch Mob's remix. but this song gives me nitemares.
What's beautiful about this song is that I can hear the little notes and chimes in it that fueled most of the Remix. The underlying lower piano notes and the slight tone changes. They really did a good job in pulling out those small parts to make something bigger, but you did a really great job in putting this song together. It's beautiful in it's own right and I wanna thank you for that. Fuck the haters, you did a great job.
@Khayman8888 Thanks for making my point: if you haven't acquired the taste, then it's subtle beauty is not available to you, and it tastes like bark. But why do we argue? De gustibus non est disputandum.
This is Ambiance.. No words, all about the mood.. You know when you walk into the art museum, or science center, or a car show (Commercial) and there's something playing in the background that gives the piece or car a sort of .. umm.. "special atmosphere or mood" Well this is that stuff. You'll catch music like this in some video games too, ie: Spore. If this is too mellow for you, be sure to steer clear of this Genre.. lol Personally I'd have this playing at home aft work ON A Monday.. : )
Almost. Cataplexy is common to narcoleptics which can look like a seizure. It involved loss of muscular function triggered by extreme emotion. So being startled, angered, moments of hilarity, etc can all trigger this. It can range from numbness to all out muscle failure, usually resulting in collapse. However, to back you up, you could have gotten cataplexy from the extreme rage you got after so many posts and collapsed onto the keyboard. It's entirely possible and kinda funny :D
I think The Glitch Mob remix is way better. Heard it in the DmC trailer a couple of weeks ago and since then TGM remix and the group themselves have been added to my Ipod; I regret nonthing:-)
@snalepa according to wikipedia their first official single was "STS9 - Beyond Right Now (The Glitch Mob Remix)" via 1320 Records. This was in 2008. Their remix of Monday came out in 2009. What's up with that?
@freezermasterxy what did you expect? Its not the remix, if you wanted to hear the remix, then you were opting to feel disappointed! I still like the remix more!
Incorrect. Steve Nalepa isn't part of Glitch Mob. Glitch Mob includes Edward Ma, Justin Boreta, Josh Mayer and previously Matthew Kratz and Kitty Ology.
what kind of glitch mod your talking about sir? is it available for ps3 as well? if thats the case i will do a video of that Glitch or mod, and put the remix of Nalepa with The Glitch Mob
How did the glitch mob song even come from this?!?!
put the speed at x3 or more i think and the remix comes out ! lol !
Simple, glitch the shit out of it.
Ryan Walker isolate some of the notes and tones, set up a lemur app on a few ipads and hit it
Who else coming here right after listening to the Glitch Mob remix
It's kinda scary how quiet this song is..
Everyone says that this song sucks and is boring, but you have to agree that this song is amazing as a background music.
I love this version and the remix. This version's relaxing.
this sould be called sunday.. monday is a whole different feeling..
I thought Nalepa copied Glitch Mob. ;)
OMFG IS THAT PROXIMITY??!!
I can understand how people want to compare this to the remix, but honestly, it's fair neither to the artists nor us. So enjoy both for what they are.
this entire clip is composed of only a blink of an eye. how cool is that!
Wow, The Glitch Mob made this song SO MUCH BETTER, I can't even notice what part they used of it...
"better" is too subjective when it comes to music.
Also, both versions are so different, it's like comparing apples and oranges.
how can you guys not like this, this is fucking perfect for them sunday nights
Is my headset supposed to sound like it has insects crawling around in it?
yall all callin this 12 yr old song bad, lemme tell yas i remember 2009, and this shit would have been pinpoint AESTHETIC at the time, shit aint bad its just very off its time
and i respect it very much
Thanks, appreciate the kind words. Cheers!
This was awesome, I must say the remix by glitch mob sent me here, and I am not disappointed with what I found. Thank you for your music!
-_- mfw all these people failed to realize that the glitch mob must have liked this song in order to remix it...therefore it must have some musical quality.
Glitch mob made 99% of work lol
@freezermasterxy

i agree with both of you. glitch mob killed it. i hardly recognize this!
I like both the remix and this song
Thanks Steve, you da man! Massive thanks for your time.
This is some god sent asmr/vaporwave song
Wow. This is cool in its own sense, but I'm surprised how The Glitch Mob totally made it something to break down and dance to.
Listened to this with headphones and now I want to throw up
Damn that was harsh 😅
i don't understand the fuss. This is just as lovely, why insult the creator? This song obviously inspired their remix so we wouldn't have one without it.
thank you glitch mob for remixing this...
it's not every day you see the actual MAKER of the music step in to break up an argument. that was awesome.
Yes, this is the music video he made for this song :)
That's sooo cool :) I feel so undeserving you are so nice to comment like this :)))
Scroll down through the comments. Steve Nalepa is the guy who made this music.
glitch mob is the greatest
@CJoMin the definition of music is organized sound. So technically yes, this is music. But music is also an expression of the soul and a reflection of neurological depth. It's like the difference between an epic poem and a youtube comment. This song is a musical comment, but nothing more.

True dat. You can't really add much to what's already really good
Jesus the comments are fucked. This is a beautiful piece. Dont compare this with glitch. Both are amazing in their own right
I don't know why it is called Glitch Mob Remix, it has nothing to do with this.
Thumbs up, if you wanted to know what is the origin of the Glitch mob remix and are now dissappointed...
I love both the remix and the origonal, and I think they're both so different they can't really be compared.
I think what you meant was epilepsy. Narcolepsy is the inability to regulate sleep cycles.
Mad props Glitch Mob. Those guys have good taste.
My brain can't comprehend what this song is or what it means... But it would be sweet to see, maybe a short film that uses both this one and Glitch Mob's remix.
but this song gives me nitemares.
@lyraxbelanquaxx The glitch mob is the artist that released a remix of this song.
this is carbon, the remix became what's known as "diamond"
all great things came from sothing simple...
This is so fucking good. This is lofi hip hop ahead of it's time.
I can barely see any of this in the Glitch Mob remix. Nalepa got their ass handed to them.
What's beautiful about this song is that I can hear the little notes and chimes in it that fueled most of the Remix. The underlying lower piano notes and the slight tone changes. glitch mob pretty much turned water into wine man
Cool :) Is this the actual music video for this song?? Cuz it fits insanely well with the song
You cant really compare the two. This is slow, the other is rapid. Anyway, this is really cool when you are getting a sleepy.
Devil May Cry and Glitch Mob brought me here..thank you!:D
Well actually three artists.
You know, I really like Edward Ma's stuff, and what he did with Glitch Mob but, seriously, this is brilliant.
It sounds so strange... but I like it.
since when is monday relaxing and soothing anyway xP ?
i like it. very diffrent then the glitch mobs remix but still like it. but i cant help but feel like im tripping on acid as i listen
thx

wow this really soothing but Glitch Mob did a good fucking job
dafuq is this o.O beer to anyone who finds this in glitch remix xD
WTF ...Sounds like somebody had beaten up my Soundboxes,,,
Huge fan, keep up the good work, I remember how mezmerising this track was when I first heard it :)
@Rhinan Well it's not a song, but it's music. Interesting music, that is.
I think The Glitch Mob remix is way better. Heard it in the DmC trailer a couple of weeks ago and since then TGM remix and the group themselves have been added to my Ipod; I regret nonthing:-)

Their remix of Monday came out in 2009. What's up with that?
oh w/e
glitch mob WAS nalepa
i dont understand why thats so hard for people to wrap their head around
Nice and quiet, good for back round music too.
@freezermasterxy what did you expect? Its not the remix, if you wanted to hear the remix, then you were opting to feel disappointed! I still like the remix more!
@seedofevil23698 Ehehem...Gltch Mob Remix IS The one who brought me here LOL
The person in the reflection, is that you, @briankane? :)
I kinda want to play this song in reverse and at a higher speed
yes, that's Brian!
i came here cause of dmc and the remix of this song
Incorrect. Steve Nalepa isn't part of Glitch Mob. Glitch Mob includes Edward Ma, Justin Boreta, Josh Mayer and previously Matthew Kratz and Kitty Ology.
I prefer this over the Remix :)
this video is kinda awesome
Steve, you seem to be the right person to go to for this question. Would you happen to know the source of the vocal sample in the remix by TGM?
I know he's the one that made the song :P. And found it thanks xD
@R193L1 I referred to the video.. Sorry, I wasn't specific.
The music is.. Well, ok...
I love how all comments here are about the Glitch Mob being better XD
I agree though.
maybe glitch mob played it backwards. it sounds like it.
great
done care
@snalepa ah, had me confused for a bit.
thanks for the answer, helped to clear that up.
Cheers yourself!
@Jok3r157 If you can hear the parts they took from this song, you are deaf.
like playing flow
what kind of glitch mod your talking about sir? is it available for ps3 as well? if thats the case i will do a video of that Glitch or mod, and put the remix of Nalepa with The Glitch Mob
yeah im just riddled with narcolepsy -_-
was that a seizure from anger?
DMC brought me here
nalepa has never been a part of the glitch mob.
@Anchicanoy sure, but I wanted to see the origin of the remix. I still love the remix but I cant see what the remix has to do with this
so this was the basis for beyond monday?
@OvaNineThousand lol True, but i'm still glad it did. I fucking love these guys! i've been missing out
ehh...last time i fell on my keyboard was cause i was drunk
and believe me i was too happy to experience...cataplexy x_x
right cause the world tends to be fair like that
Not bad, but kinda static-y
epic diss D: mami D:
