It's not the teachers who decide on whats in & what's not in the cariculum of the day , it's the ignorant & arrogant who sit up the pay scale who decide this stuff .
At one time it was the Ministry of Education & with input from local area boards .
Fire the upper management , and get the education system to produce educated people , willing to continue educating themselves , instead of letting internal biases in the structure , impose their will .
To date all that's happened over the last few years is our children have become worse educated than their parents , and grandparents - they at least had something more of an education than modern children .

Not just the teachers though as they are only following what they've been told to do. We need to get to the heart of where this mentality is coming from and as parents all get together to stop the indoctrination of the young. I'm so glad my two children had a good education and are relatively healthy adjusted adults with jobs. I feel so bad for the future generation of snowflakes coming though, but If it was my child I'd be the first to lead a head on challenge in the courts.

The Brexit referendum had a similar effect on teachers - I have teacher friends who didn't dare disclose that they were voting for "Leave" for fear of the "pile-on" that would happen in the staffroom, They genuinely feared for their jobs as many of their colleagues and their union reps had been completely brainwashed to regard Leave voters as gammons and brain dead. What happened to vocational teachers who embraced debate about controversial issues?

    • @socratesrocks1513
      @socratesrocks1513 Před 2 lety +7

We left because teaching was too politicized and too left wing. I managed over 30 years without once mentioning or being asked to admit my political perspective. Then, suddenly, it was THE thing staff wanted to know. I'm right of centre -- what we used to call a wet Conservative -- and not ashamed I voted to Leave the EU, but ooooh boy! Suddenly I was an uncaring monster who was sacrificing the kids' future. In contrast, I thought I was preserving it so that, once the EU had finished its federalist agenda, the generations following could decide for themselves whether they wanted any part of it. Now I was told I didn't care about them, was heartless, a monster, that I should be ashamed of myself, and the fact I wasn't upset them even more. Eventually it became apparent I either had to kowtow or leave.
I believed in old-fashioned teaching, where your focus was on learning the SUBJECT, not tricks to pass the exam with no memory of the material. I believed in showing respect if it was earned. Respect was going out the window. Parents were bullies. Their little angel who spent all their time in class on their mobile phone and didn't read the material or do the homework (or, if they did, they lifted it from online sources without citing them, aka plagiarism) wasn't the problem, apparently, I was. I needed to make the classes more entertaining so the kids weren't bored. Hello? At least half of your working life you'll be bored, but you still have to do it, and school is supposed to prepare you for working life. We weren't. We were mollycoddling them, lying to them and leaving them completely unprepared for reality. I couldn't stand it. I had to leave.

I am about to retire after over 40 years in education. I could not survive in the current climate and count myself fortunate to have avoided the worst of this. In all those years I have had students of diverse backgrounds, and races. I have worked with remand prisoners and disabled students, and at a variety of levels. What you describe is an appalling situation and one that most parents will be immediately fearful of. For education read other institutions. Even in the leafy suburbs of our market towns, politicians are selling an agenda taken straight from downtown Chicago. Added to this their apparent ‘apocalyptic’ agenda should disqualify them from going anywhere near our children, or anyone else. They are, if nothing else, intellectually lazy, and buy this stuff wholesale without testing its provenance.

The people at universities now are quite often incapable of critical analysis and don't question anything. They seem to accept everything they're told about inequality and how it must be stamped out totally despite it being natural and essential to society. It's a Marxist ideology and requires coercion and authoritarianism for it to be implemented.

Andrew I could not agree with you more and when you talk about standing up to Woke, I for one, know full well what any teacher is going to face, the outcome and the effect on their lives forever.
I became a teacher from industry and the RAF in 1982 with 40 other mature men, also from industry under a national scheme to get more Maths and Science teachers, most of us being parents had children, did not have degrees and had come up from the shop floor to senior positions via day release and evening classes to get our HNCs. We all did quite well, had good discipline, popular with the kids and parents but each of us experienced battles and victimization by young Headteachers because we very strongly oppose the growing political correctness which went on to spawn Woke.
The job was tough enough but continual battles in the staffroom and being undermined many of us soon left, I lasted much longer primarily because I moved to teaching and coordinating IT which on it's back I became a Deputy Head but they eventually got me as well.
Because kids knew and gave me respect for having a 'proper' job and being in the military, they after hearing very anti Conservative and Arm Forces opinions would often ask me what my opinion was and I would reply, I personally do not agree with what you have been told but I am here to teach you not to give my political views. On one issue, I did put my foot down and that was when I refused to install a Derby Education Auth. Maths software GCSE package where students got rewarded with a cheer and animation of Neil Kinnock kicking Maggie Thatcher up the bum. I was called to the head's office and instructed to do so but I quoted the recent 1996 Education Act 1996 that:
"the local education authority, governing body and head teacher shall take such steps they are offered a balanced presentation of opposing views."
She backed down and I did not install it on the DESCIT school network but the hate and anger in her eyes were palpable and I knew that she would be coming for me in some way, as my not so left-wing colleagues told me.
It did not take long for her to do so, I was wrongly accused of placing my hand on a child's shoulder and due to the pupil being told by the NUT representative I had hurt him. I was instantly suspended on full pay and spent the next 6 months at home (nervous breakdown resulting) waiting to fight my case. I won, thanks mainly to the parent of the child speaking at my hearing and telling the truth of what happened, in that her son and another boy had been playing up due to a weak teacher and had been swinging on their stools holding onto a live electric cable from the back of a monitor and I had due to supporting that teacher and not wishing to make an issue of it, gently put my hand on his shoulder and whispered for him and his friend to sit up.
But even though being fully reinstated, I found that I would have to attend re-education lessons by the worst and most left wing teacher in the school to rid my self of my harmful thinking for about a year. Worse of all, and in keeping with your statement about you being a teacher and realizing you did not like kids, was that on my first day back at school, a very eager and keen Year 7 pupil, a brother of two pupils I had taught and were in my IT Club prefects very excitedly wanted to know if I would be starting up the IT lunch and after school club. Normally I would have joked with him, asked questions and encouraged him to join BUT I felt nothing, I realized that 'fire in my tummy' which had made me work hours for kids had been smothered out and I had no desire to be a teacher any more.
So I left and as I got near to my car, the Head who I had just told, I learnt later from a colleague over the phone rushed into the staffroom shouting "The bastard has given in" and I could hear them rejoicing and cheering as they open the staff room windows shouting things like "Good riddance" and "F**k off and don't come back" while pupils looked on and saw what they were doing.
The aftermath of this that it was the final straw for my wife who happened to be a teacher as well and fairly left-wing and because we had kids, my efforts to find work in the IT Training world led to being away from home and me and wife deciding to part. Sadly, my kids did not forgive and I now no longer have any dealings with them.
That was back in the mid 1990s it is now far worse.
Andrew before you tell decent, sane and intelligent teachers to stand up to Woke, I suggest you and GBNews start a very strong campaign to make sure our government and councils do their job and ENFORCE laws so when as I did, with the belief I had an Educational Act behind and would protect me, they do so !!

@@kellysouter4381 Thank you, Kelly, after a lot of very long hours of study I became a Microsoft Certified Trainer, travel and especially over coming hard-nose IT teckies rolling their eyes on learning an ex teacher would be delivering them, their Microsoft MCSE 5-day courses, some had paid £2500 for. I did very well, because I got them through their MCSE exams and went free-lance, starting my own company up and allowing me to travel for work and pleasure all over the world. After a few relationships I met my current lovely wife and brought her kids to the UK who have gone on to get degrees and very high level jobs. I am fortunate I live off the mainland and due to taking up teaching as a private tutor for A-Level topics - I know a lot of grateful parents and pupils who tell me often, would have not got into University, without me. I now mainly paint WC and Oils which I can sell at good prices and recently taken up playing the piano, which I love learning.
You could say, that Head and her left wing colleagues teachers did me a favour and "Yes" I expect most people would say that. But I feel I failed and even though I am proud and feel good that out there are about 45 middle-aged guys who when young like me, could have gone on to dead-end jobs and maybe crime due to their attitude and reluctance to study. I often think, if I had not been so hot headed and had been far politically savvy, made have gone on to becoming a Head and thus influential and helpful to a far greater number of troubled young lads.

Teachers will never stand up to this. I've yet to encounter a teacher with a spine, they prefer the easy life.
Also a lot of teachers actually buy into this crap, the best option is to home school. I did this with my youngest son. It's difficult but it is the only way that you can be sure of what your child is being taught.

I agree with your statement apart from the fact that you’ve said you couldn’t stand children. I used to be a teacher as well and some of the kids were really naughty but ever since I’ve become a father myself I look at kids differently with more understanding and patience. But thanks for pointing out what’s going on it’s absolutely unbelievable and unacceptable.

There needs to be a complete overhaul of the Education system and training. We need to return to education, not indoctrination. Everyone involved in this nonsense should be removed from the teaching profession and banned from any involvement with children, ever. Maybe it is time that cameras were placed in school classrooms so that parents can see and hear what is being taught to their children.

A childs mind is like wet clay and can be molded into any desired shape, then once dry and hardened that shape remains until the structure is destroyed. Good parenting and the child's own enquiries and experiences should be the hands that mold the mind and not radical political ideals.
