    We tested the battery mower out recently and although we love all the stihl battery power tools the mower didn’t meet our expectations. Height of cut and battery power both need improvement for the pro user.

    I have the smaller mower, and it struggles to cut short, i was going to buy this big one, hoping it will be powerful, but now, having watched your report i will skip it, thanks a million you have saved me a lot of money 🎉

    Great review, love the fact you tell it how it is and what needs to be improved.

    Thanks for being so honest in this review. Battery powered mowers is something I'm really not keen on. I've reverted back to petrol now.

    Lol, I love the way the mower cut out halfway through the first pass. Probably don't need the earmuffs.
    Love battery OPE! It's nearly there.

    I switched to the Stihl battery gear this year for all my hedge cutters and strimmer and hand held blower and been very happy. However there are two types of machines that in my opinion are nowhere near ready for pro use yet in the battery format and that is the mower and backpack blower. Enjoyed the video and your frank appraisal 👍

      You are dead right. They’re not up to it yet. It will take a while to get mowers into everyday use.

    Nice review. Always good when it’s open and honest. Only seen one other video on it and was very biased. Good to hear from a commercial user too going lawn to lawn with a variety of grass and weed types. Surprised it wasn’t great. Would think Stihl would have got it right. Their 7 series I tried last year was very impressive. Wasn’t keen on the bail arms being other way to Hayter but cut and collect was great with a great engine. Share video in pro gardeners U.K. if you like to 👍🏻

    Great review. Been using the small Stihl mowers for years for the very small gardens but anything bigger and it has to be The Honda HRH. I think Stihl need to employ a gardener on their staff so they can learn what we need, and not what they think we need.

    I love all my Stihl battery power equipment (Kombi System), but the mower doesn't do well in Oregon during the winter months when the grass is green and growing. Hard to find a time when the grass is not damp here. The clippings don't enter the collection bag and collect under the deck instead. Ugh!

    • @scottellwoodgardening287
      @scottellwoodgardening287  Před 10 měsíci

      Yes you’re right it needs a lot of work to get it to operate in wet weather. Its also expensive too.

      Stihl petrol hedge cutter 1e years old still going £510. Cordless x2 rough cut, x2 trim cut in four years £1720. Motors just fail, parts to expensive. If motor were £50 wouldn't be a problem bit to expensive to replace. Then the battery fails. Analysed by a battery technician, faulty circuit board, only dropped 10% efficiency. Stihl told me to bin it. Surely I'm not the only one having these issues?

      Front height adjustment will be prone to breaking I would think yes. It’s a start for battery mowing but hopefully they will improve quickly.

    Love my cordless kit until it started failing. One by one hedge cutters, long reach, chainsaw, batteries also failing. Ap holster cable melting whilst using the blower. Very well looked after kit. Stored in room with dehumidifier. Now going back to petrol as it is costing a fortune. Parts not available or to expensive. Infact a motor and Control unit is £30 more than a new msa200. Wasready to buy this mower but no way! The new products a far to expensive and will notdo ot last

    • @scottellwoodgardening287
      @scottellwoodgardening287  Před 2 lety

      That’s not good. Did you take it back to the dealer as stihl after service is usually very good. The mowers are a long way off being any use to me also. Thanks for watching.

    • @traxxas5
      @traxxas5 Před 2 lety

      @@scottellwoodgardening287 the first hla 94 r I took it back to the dealer I purchased from as sparks and smoke were flying out. It had just gone out of warranty so they were not interested, they told me nothing lasts buy a new one. So I took it to a dealer i was just starting to go to more and they contacted Stihl, they did put a new motor in but it has never ran right since. It goes very slow under heavy load. Hence why I always base a price on new motor and control board if somthing goes wrong. This then costs far to much to warrant a repair. The other machines just stopped. I inspected motor, I don't know enough, but looked fine, still span. It a 80min round trip to go to new dealer and then the cost for them to inspect and I know it not financially viable to replace parts, that's if you can get hold of them. So the others I've just replaced. The battery, dealer nor Stihl wanted to know anything. I friend who's only one of 20 experts in batteries in UK took it away to analyse. Faulty circuit board, only dropped 10% efficiency and I know for sure it had not achieved 1200 cycles. So don't listen to any of Stihls claims. They don't offer repair. OK if your only running run battery but when you have 6 for more it's very expensive if they and kit keeps failing. Most dealers slag of Stihl in my experience and say I should buy Pellenc. I demoed that and most kit failed on demo and parts broken on every machine. took it back to dealer and they couldn't get it to work. That was the mower and strimmer and the battery display stopped. So a good demo that, shows non of them are upto the job nor warrant the big price tags. I love cordless, no fumes, not noise but where do you draw the financial line? I can see it will only be councils running the complete range soon as they can waste tax layers money. I'll keep the hedge cutters going as right in your face all day, but back to petrol for the rest.

      @@traxxas5 pelenc is good equipment from what I hear but very expensive. It sounds like you have had really bad luck with the stihl. My videos I don’t hold back on anything if I don’t like it like when I pulled their mower to bits but my battery stuff I can’t fault personally. I hope you get sorted. My dealer is 15 minutes away and I get really good service but with the battery tools they haven’t gone wrong yet so I can’t comment on stihl aftercare but In the old days of petrol tools I have had blowers and strimmers replaced under warranty with no questions asked.
