- The Seven Spiritual Laws are powerful principles; put into practice they set you on a direct course to authentically achieve your goals.
1. The Law of Pure Potentiality
Silently witness the intelligence within every living thing. Practice non-judgment.
2. The Law of Giving
Gratefully receive gifts. Keep wealth circulating by giving and receiving care, affection, appreciation, and love.
3. The Law of Karma
Choosing actions that bring happiness and success to others ensures the flow of happiness and success to you.
4. The Law of Least Effort
Accept people, situations, and events as they occur. Take responsibility for your situation and for all events seen as problems. Relinquish the need to defend your point of view.
5. The Law of Intention and Desire
Inherent in every intention and desire is the mechanics for its fulfillment. Make a list of desires. Trust that when things don’t seem to go your way, there is a reason.
6. The Law of Detachment
Allow yourself and others the freedom to be who they are. Do not force solutions-allow solutions to spontaneously emerge. Uncertainty is essential, and your path to freedom.
7. The Law of Dharma
Seek your higher Self. Discover your unique talents. Ask yourself how you are best suited to serve humanity. Using your unique talents and serving others brings unlimited bliss and abundance.

@@4theloveoffashion959 I know how you feel and used to feel that way towards a family member, where I was always giving and not receiving. For a relationship to flourish, I feel, that there needs to be a balance between giving and receiving. When one is always giving, we can feel used and then later resentful. The way I stopped this cycle was by sharing how I felt about it and set some boundaries. Stay strong, share how you feel, honour yourself. Sending you love and blessings.

I love this and it's very inspiring. I love the 7 spiritual Laws.
I want to point out though that when the example that there is a difference between a creative person and a compassionate person when choosing an occupation there is a danger in telling someone " You are not talented in creativity so maybe the fact that you love art and want to be an artist isn't best for you and you should consider doing something to use your talent for compassion like nurse or doctor."
Here's why I don't think this thought idea is useful and I don't recall Deepak ever saying this in this way:
1. The first spiritual law is pure potentiality which means that if someone concentrates focus effort , intention and action towards doing something they love they can become talented at it.
2. Learn " The Growth Mindset" by Carol Dweck. There is nothing in the Growth Mindset that contradicts anything on the 7 Spiritual Laws. If someone is not Talented instead of concretiz8ng a present moment, use the power of "Yet." You just haven't done it yet but with focus and effort you can grow, learn and accomplish more than you are capable of on this moment.
There is a paradox that I find fascinating. Eckhart Tolle teaches " The Power of Now and Carol Fweck teaches " The Tyranny of now."
The power of now is the ability to let go of the past and the future to free yourself in mind to focus on the now and not drag negativities from the past with you or be afraid of the future because you have some mental limited idea of your identity.
The Tyranny of Now is when you identify yourself as if you can never learn or improve so you give up. Your mind stops you from trying due to a self limitation created in the past or the fear that you won't be good enough in the future.
So the POWER of Now and the TYRANNY of Now end up teaching the same thing. Sounds like a paradox but they both make sense and are useful to let go of fear, be in the moment and enthusiastically take on challenges.
So I would not advise telling someone who loves and wants to do something that they are probably not talented enough and should choose something else. Allow them to challenge themselves to learn and grow in this moment, not stuck in the past or fearing the future.
One does not cancel out the other. It is simply they way that some uses and understands what each means, both are useful to understand and practice.
