Amazing tip towards the end. What I love about your channel is your simplicity. No matching nail polishes or background colours that distract you, the focus is only on the item being crocheted. Thanks for this amazing tutorial. I love your channel ❤️
Loved this! Super easy and I am not a great stitcher. I can't follow a written pattern so love videos. First time switching colors and will totally do this again
I love this stitch and I really like this beanie I have been asked to make one for a friend that wants I'm not sure how to say it but the brim so it folds up so if that's the case what I just double the brim size from 10 stitches to 20 stitches Thank you
This beanie is easy and very attractive. Thank you for the pattern and video! I think the description of the hhdc is missing a yarn over at the beginning of the stitch. The blog says: Insert your hook into the stitch indicated, yarn over and draw up a loop… Should there be a yarn over at the beginning of this instruction?
You say that this pattern can be worked in any multiple of single crochet on the first round (not including the actual creation of the brim), and you did 72. However, if someone were to do this pattern in an odd number of stitches, your decrease at the end would not work since it is in multiples of 8 (6 half-double herringbone stitches, and then 1 that joins two stitches together that, making a total of 8). What happens to someone that is trying to make a larger size and comes across this problem?

Hi Sarah I love this pattern, but although I've followed pattern, mine is a crescent shape, before I continue, please tell me what I'm doing wrong it looks like it's getting wider..I have a pic but don't know how to attach
Hello! It sounds like you may be adding a stitch either at the beginning or the end of your round. I recommend doing a stitch count every so often and marking the first and last stitches with a stitch marker to make sure you are working into only them
The pattern is free here on my blog: richtexturescrochet.com/prairie-beanie-crochet-pattern/ you’ll find t it written out in full at the bottom followed by the video tutorial. If you would like a PDF of the pattern, you can purchase one from either my Ravelry or Etsy Shop
It’s disappointing that there is no indication of number of stitches needed to make beanie smaller for children. 72 single crochets needed for an adult size hat but what about a child size hat. We’re not all experienced enough to know this right off. No indication in pattern on blog either.
Ladies typically unless the video title indicates it's a child's hat it's for an adult and the instructions and demo will speak to the adult size. There are tons of newborn, toddler, children's, and teens crochet beanies and hats on CZcams and most of them are very easy and fun to make. Another idea is to follow her exact pattern using a finer yarn and a smaller hook.
Be grateful she shares SO much knowledge. These are not "beginner" or novice patterns. These are for people with a little experience under their belt who could easily change the size. She mentions changing the size at 7:12
This video said to make the brim of the hat 16-17” so I would measure our a kid size and then just follow the rest. Problem is you’ll have to pay extra attention not to miss any stitches if you don’t know a count. Or write down your initial count and do the match for the decreases etc
What else are you doing, that you couldn't wait? What is her punishment going to be for this unacceptable action on this free videowith accompanying free pattern, which lists the multiples?
Amazing tip towards the end.

Great hat !🤩👍
Is it a unisex hat suitable both for men &women?
Can we make it with cotton yarn ?🙏🍃🍀🍂
Great 👏👏
What is the best way to judge picking up stitches
What is the benefit of doing a SS vs. doing a SC or HDC brim?
More stretch and a more genuine rib look.
I want to make a child’s and teen size. Do you have a pattern for these sizes?
Can this be done as a baby beanie

How many inches smaller should the brim be than the person's head circumference? I would like to make it for a toddler.

2 inches
I'm making this for a 22'" head how many stitches do I need please?
I have 24" head, I have no idea how many stitches I need
I made the band 18” long for me. That would fit a 22” head
Why does my hat keep getting wider and wider, almost from the start???
Hi Sarah
I love this pattern, but although I've followed pattern, mine is a crescent shape, before I continue, please tell me what I'm doing wrong it looks like it's getting wider..I have a pic but don't know how to attach

Thank you, will try, but my count every so often was 72, maybe reduce to 68, but your right does look like I'm adding stitch either side
Thank you
I love these. Would love to get the written pattern but it wants me to place a credit card ????? Cn you help me

I was wanting to know this too.

Margaret Oleander has excellent videos on her channel about sizing hats with a printout. Sheepishly Sharing is her channel.
Be grateful she shares SO much knowledge. These are not "beginner" or novice patterns. These are for people with a little experience under their belt who could easily change the size. She mentions changing the size at 7:12

7 minutes into the pattern before giving the multiple is unacceptable. Anyone wanting to make the hat bigger knows this when working on the brim.
What else are you doing, that you couldn't wait?
