Love how this explains why Shino is one of the most empathetic and understanding character of the Naruto class. Being aware of Hinata’s feelings way before anyone else, respectful of Naruto even when he was disliked, etc. Even being aware as to why classmates were weary of him, instead of just being hurt. Always thought this clan was underrated. Honestly they’re one of the few that could counter a Uchiha. As they drain a lot of Chakra, they have to keep their eyes on their opponents & they’re just Batman of Naruto verse. With prep time they’re unstoppable. Also glad they didn’t get over saturated with information though I’d love to know and seen about them, but they’re one of the few legit ninja clans. But the mystery adds to their appeal.

Another plus of shino's bugs, are that they evolve quickly and almost effortlessly. Guren may not be cannon, but the way he cacoons himself to evolve his beetles to be resistant to the crystal style, really shows alot about his intelligence

Yeah, Shino selectively breeds these bugs as a hobby. Another thing he did was breed them to be immune to Torune’s nano bugs. (Can we just mention that Torune is like a human Amaterasu!) So because they evolve so fast, the Aburame clan’s bugs probably become tougher, faster, and deadlier every year. Meaning that they become stronger overtime without even needing to do anything.

Abarame clan are disgustingly useful to put lightly. In the anime Pakun(kakashi’s summoning) described Shino as “inhuman”. Practically saying he’s more bug than human. I never forgot that😖
I have a Aburame OC I created. She mainly uses ants specifically fire ants this does limit her a bit as most ants cant fly but their digging abilities make them really useful
Shino used to be in my top 3 favorite characters back in Naruto OG. Matching personality to mine and I simply related to him. The script did him dirty, he was looking to be so much more than what was done with the character, especially in Boruto.

They are the ninja~iest ninja in the _entire_ series! Also, I think you forgot the infamous Giant Flying Leeches of Konoha. Those _technically_ fall under the purview of the Aburame clan too, though we only ever see it once during the Chunin Exam Arc during the Forest of Death exercise.
Shino was one of my favorite characters, though he was criminally underused. He could have been such a badass. But most people put him in the same camp as kiba in terms of uselessness.
He isn't useless to me at all, I think he's just wasn't been used much like Kiba and Hinata during Shippuden, we only got to see him fight Konan and later fight White Zetsu with his teammate tho lol
Honestly with how Shino nurtures his bugs and was able to get such a weird variety of them (I'm thinking in particular the giant beetles he used in the war arc, that he mentioned were extremely difficult to raise or something) him becoming an academy teacher honestly makes sense? He'll nurture the next generation into strong shinobi.
In my personal Headcanon i always imagined the Aburame to have no eyes. Instead they are filled to the brim with bugs. And to not creep out everyone they all wear goggles. I like the theory with the light and darkness but i will stick to mine till i see an Aburame without eye wear.

I always believed shino should should have been on Naruto's team, partly because I am confident they could bounce off each other good, but mostly because you would think that the kage would want to have a way to suppress the 9 tails chakra on the same team as there jinchuriki. Even if shino's bugs can't handle the biju chakra at first, evolution can actually give them the ability to do so. This would give Naruto a friend who could help him with isolation, better than Sasuke, and a safer way to train his biju chakra. Also would give the village faster progress for there jinchuriki, an anti biju/jinchuriki weapon and quite possibly a, or even a clan, of psudo jinchuriki(s). That is how awesome the aburame are.

As much as I realistically dont like insects, the aburame clan is my all time favorite clan. Because they incorporate something that I hate and made it look absolutely, ridiculously amazing. Plus I never knew thats why they wear all those clothing, but even if I still didnt know, I wouldn't have complained cause I like the way they all dress. Late to the party but Shino was always one of my favorites and his bugs were often a part of the theoretical power combinations combinations my friends and I would come up with. While not the strongest i always wished shino ona kiba had a shared student who's dog partner had fleas like shino's clan.
So something that you should use as a reference tool is, when infinite tsukuyomi was cast shino and all the other aburame fell under it. So itachis using tsukuyomi on yoji makes perfect sense, because tsukuyomi was a complete genjutsu, literally breaking you 5 senses apart, and shattering the connection between the Chakra pathways and the brain, and it implants the genjutsu into the mind and spirit while leaving the body in suspended animation, and tsukuyomi is all encompassing, and uses darkness to help effect the target. It effects perception of time, which is an ideology, putting them in a grayscale inverted world, shinos bugs thought nothing was wrong. So why would it be different for itachis tsukuyomi? Infinite tsukuyomi and tsukuyomi are the same genjutsu, just 1 lasts forever

You would think that Hashirama would have kept at least one of the tailed beasts considering that he had 7 and there were only 3 other big villages that didn’t have one. (Sand already had Shukaku, and no one had Kurama yet.) But no, he gives two to each. 2&8 to cloud, 3&6 to mist, and 4&5 to stone. And what does he do with the remaining 7 tails? Give it to the Aburame clan so their jinchuriki can nourish their bugs with biju chakra creating super bugs and getting other insect abilities like growing wings and creating spider-man webs? NOPE! He gives it to the waterfall village. Let me repeat that, *the waterfall village!* Can you imagine how cool of a twist it would be if it was revealed that Shino was the 7 tails jinchuriki? The reason tsukonomi worked when itachi used it on the bugs is because how it warps tine perceived the bugs wouldn't even know they were in a genjutsu because it happens within a peco second

The databook, and light novels destroy the storyline. From the explaination, Aburame were pretty much like Naruto with abilities from Otsutski, and combined with Kurama could just give chakra to eveyone on the battlefield, but this did not happen in the war. A clan thats thorough enough to off Shisui, don't use any of these special abilities on a large level in a war against Madara. Oxymoron, and flat out nonsensical. Chouji, Ino, and Shikamaru had more feats. Sad.
bug control is one of the most underrated jutsu there is. controlling millions of organisms and all with their own biological abilities and all so small.
Dude ive loved shino as a character since i first saw his fight with zaku in the chunin exams because the way he took down zaku was cold af and then i later found out that in the manga zaku's arms dont just get little holes in them but they completely explode off his body i respected shino even more and i loved his clan so much that when i was younger i made an aburame naruto oc. I had a question on the last post and the fella just repeated what I was saying. Is Kabuto a perfect sage? I watched a video saying in the title he was, then in the comments some people were saying since he turned into a dragon in the Itachi fight that’s the highest form of snake so he was a perfect sage. I was under the impression that the less you looked like an animal the more perfect sage you are.
It could be like hes a perfect sage but he has shit control of the nature energy just like how juraiya still looks like a frog even tho he has ma and pa who are like the best at controlling nature energy but he just isnt (ik hes not a perfect sage theres just not much else to go off)
He's the only known full Snake/Dragon Sage due to him adding the Sound 5, and Orochimarus DNA to his own. Additionally prior he was an efficient shinobi at healing, especially himself, he was actually wack in the beginning and Tsunade should've never had a problem beating his ass tbh, the fear of blood crap, omg. I guess the ninja world had forgotten about war she used to be in, and did her best in the war to be beastly, but none of that attitude existed for some odd reason back then. And please nobody give me 'blood'. Can you imagine how many bodies and blood she saw with Jiraya and Orochimaru during the save Jiraya life don't turn on him saga where she threatened Orochimaru, or on the way to the Nagato team in the Hidden Rain where they got owned and named Sannin by Hanzo.

And for anyone wondering about OC ideas: yes, there is a thing called a 'Vampire moth.' No points for guessing how it got its name. -symbiosis is the default in nature. Humans are born sterile , but already colonised by bacteria as soon as they're born. The Aburame are an impressive bit of symbolism in that regard, taking it to the next level. -those bugs can eat chakra, administer chakra, but also... got stabbed? Got cut? Bugs can plug your wounds. Even in a worst-case scenario, you don't bleed out. -while the bugs are presumably immune to genjutsu, the user is not. If it's complex enough, you could theoretically trick the user into pacifying his own bugs. I'd imagine at least some of the Uchiha managed to get that sort of trump card on a fellow clan. Kinda makes me wonder why no one bothered formulating an anti-venom to that paralytic poison, actually...
In the Naruto MovieThe Lost Tower.. Was the 1st time we saw how really cool Minato specially his team wearing a different kind of anbu mask not the generic one and also they're combat gear are different from the anbu, with that we saw his team One from the Akamichi clan and the other one was from the Aburame.. Being under Minato team says a lot, that these people are very Strong 💪 n their clan. But hopefully we know who they really are and that Aburame guy.
Finally! Shino respect. Other than Shikimaru, I'd not want to fight Shino. His intelligence was alwasys clear to me and he has so many abilities with his bugs, yet he constantly holds back (outside of full on war). Thanks for such a good explaination. I felt we should've been sadder when he had to face his "brother" in the anime, but it wasn't explained well why (not to my memory, which tb fair is more than a decade old). Respect Shino! I think their 'passive ability' of being unnoticed, almost invisible like, is because of the bugs. They hide their host's chakra so well, and not only chakra, possibly, even their presence, scent, anything. That's why there's a running gag of Shino being forgettable throughout the series.
Is anyone going to mention the fact that Torune (and all Aburame) should have been immune to edo tensie. At least, bringing back his body would not have brought back the symbiotic bug host that were attached to his original body. He therefore should not have had any of the abilities attached to his bugs in his edo tensei form. I think this is a major oversight in the Naruto manga/anime
It's a good point, but he was used as an edo tensei only in the anime, so it's not an important oversight, the character could be removed with no trouble to the plot.
So when it comes to genjutsu from the Sharingan they don't even need to manipulate chakra in order to put something into genjutsu. This was seen at one point in the anime whenever Sasuke put Manda under genjutsu and Manda is Nature energy and doesn't have chakra. It's specific to the Sharingan.
I honestly always loved shino because of his fight. I have rewatched his fight. he feel as tactical as shikamaro . He has a really cool design. it sad after shipuden kishimoto had no real use of this character. That one of the issue of naruto. kishimito had create so many cool character to root for other than the main cast. but they wasn't all really important for the story. So it dissipointed for the people who attach to does side characters when they endup under used

This isn't even mentioning what Torune was doing when Shino happend upon him: preparing the Jar of Poison technique, a forbidden jutsu of the Aburame Essentially, you kill a bunch of people, fill their corpses with colonies of venomous nanobugs, toss all of the corpses in a hole, and then cover said hole with a barrier that makes the bugs breed and propagate extremely quickly. Once the barrier fails after a certain amount of time, the compressed cupercolony of venomous nanobugs is promptly deposited in a cloud over a wide area Essentially, while other people were throwing some water dragons around, Torune was creating a bioweapon that would have probably killed hundreds, if not thousands of people in the shinobi alliance and irreversibly destroyed the local biosphere

Here's a interesting ponder. Gentle fist can destroy Chakra. And tear apart jutsu. So wat about the bugs. Would they consume the gentle fist Chakra. Or would gentle fist kill the bugs. Regardless lightning style would be my best friends against these things. I know this much having the piercing eye over a 359 degree of vision Would be one of the few powers I'd feel confident with to fight this disturbing clan. The better my spacial awareness the better I'd feel
they could consume the chakra of the gentle fist before it made the fist itself after it would kill them, they can eat the fuel but not the fire so to speak

There’s proof that behind the Uchiha, the Aburame clan is the strongest in Naruto. Why? They were the only other leaf village clan whose members were historically recorded to have killed a KAGE. Namely, the first Tsuchikage, Ishikawa, given they were recorded to have wiped out most of his clan (the Kamizuru clan), likely during the first great shinobi world war.
My favorite clan that has my favorite character Shino. Too bad he's not as represented in any of the games. I heard that in Shinobi Strikers and Ultimate Ninja series if they incorporated all of Shino's abilities, he would be overpowered. Basically he will be a snowball zoning character with chakra stealing abilities. Using keep away tactics with perfect tracking.
For why the Kôchû was caught under Genjutsu, it is because its a mangekyô sharingan ability that deforms the perception of reality. Bugs are not capable of feeling the genjutsu, but Yôji could. Itachi compared that to a Shadow Clone effect. When a clone disapear, you get all the knowledge from your clone. When Tsukuyomi was used on the bugs, it reflected in the chakra network of Yôji. Thus, he feeled the suffering of all his insects in mere seconds. Its only possible to do with Tsukuyomi in my opinion.
Shino and Shikamaru was my favorite characters early on. Shino was a genius intelllect,skill,analyzing. He was always steps ahead of his opponents while fighting. Look at his fights.

Shino used to be in my top 3 favorite characters back in Naruto OG. Matching personality to mine and I simply related to him. The script did him dirty, he was looking to be so much more than what was done with the character, especially in Boruto.

Shino was one of my favorite characters, though he was criminally underused. He could have been such a badass. But most people put him in the same camp as kiba in terms of uselessness.
He isn't useless to me at all, I think he's just wasn't been used much like Kiba and Hinata during Shippuden, we only got to see him fight Konan and later fight White Zetsu with his teammate tho lol

Honestly with how Shino nurtures his bugs and was able to get such a weird variety of them (I'm thinking in particular the giant beetles he used in the war arc, that he mentioned were extremely difficult to raise or something) him becoming an academy teacher honestly makes sense? He'll nurture the next generation into strong shinobi.
To be honest Shino was underrated in both Naruto & Shippuden. I don't recall seeing him being defeated at all in all of his battles.
In my personal Headcanon i always imagined the Aburame to have no eyes. Instead they are filled to the brim with bugs. And to not creep out everyone they all wear goggles. I like the theory with the light and darkness but i will stick to mine till i see an Aburame without eye wear.

I always believed shino should should have been on Naruto's team, partly because I am confident they could bounce off each other good, but mostly because you would think that the kage would want to have a way to suppress the 9 tails chakra on the same team as there jinchuriki. Even if shino's bugs can't handle the biju chakra at first, evolution can actually give them the ability to do so. This would give Naruto a friend who could help him with isolation, better than Sasuke, and a safer way to train his biju chakra. Also would give the village faster progress for there jinchuriki, an anti biju/jinchuriki weapon and quite possibly a, or even a clan, of psudo jinchuriki(s). That is how awesome the aburame are.
While I also like Shino a lot, that's exactly the sole reasoning behind having Sasuke and Naruto together.

As much as I realistically dont like insects, the aburame clan is my all time favorite clan. Because they incorporate something that I hate and made it look absolutely, ridiculously amazing. Late to the party but Shino was always one of my favorites and his bugs were often a part of the theoretical power combinations combinations my friends and I would come up with. While not the strongest i always wished shino ona kiba had a shared student who's dog partner had fleas like shino's clan.
So something that you should use as a reference tool is, when infinite tsukuyomi was cast shino and all the other aburame fell under it. So itachis using tsukuyomi on yoji makes perfect sense, because tsukuyomi was a complete genjutsu, literally breaking you 5 senses apart, and shattering the connection between the Chakra pathways and the brain, and it implants the genjutsu into the mind and spirit while leaving the body in suspended animation, and tsukuyomi is all encompassing, and uses darkness to help effect the target. It effects perception of time, which is an ideology, putting them in a grayscale inverted world, shinos bugs thought nothing was wrong. So why would it be different for itachis tsukuyomi? Infinite tsukuyomi and tsukuyomi are the same genjutsu, just 1 lasts forever

The databook, and light novels destroy the storyline. From the explaination, Aburame were pretty much like Naruto with abilities from Otsutski, and combined with Kurama could just give chakra to eveyone on the battlefield, but this did not happen in the war. A clan thats thorough enough to off Shisui, don't use any of these special abilities on a large level in a war against Madara. Oxymoron, and flat out nonsensical. Chouji, Ino, and Shikamaru had more feats. Sad.

Dude ive loved shino as a character since i first saw his fight with zaku in the chunin exams because the way he took down zaku was cold af and then i later found out that in the manga zaku's arms dont just get little holes in them but they completely explode off his body i respected shino even more and i loved his clan so much that when i was younger i made an aburame naruto oc. I had a question on the last post and the fella just repeated what I was saying. Is Kabuto a perfect sage? I watched a video saying in the title he was, then in the comments some people were saying since he turned into a dragon in the Itachi fight that’s the highest form of snake so he was a perfect sage. I was under the impression that the less you looked like an animal the more perfect sage you are.

He's the only known full Snake/Dragon Sage due to him adding the Sound 5, and Orochimarus DNA to his own. Additionally prior he was an efficient shinobi at healing, especially himself, he was actually wack in the beginning and Tsunade should've never had a problem beating his ass tbh, the fear of blood crap, omg. I guess the ninja world had forgotten about war she used to be in, and did her best in the war to be beastly, but none of that attitude existed for some odd reason back then. And please nobody give me 'blood'. Can you imagine how many bodies and blood she saw with Jiraya and Orochimaru during the save Jiraya life don't turn on him saga where she threatened Orochimaru, or on the way to the Nagato team in the Hidden Rain where they got owned and named Sannin by Hanzo.

Researching references for swarm master characters, so this summary was very useful. Some notes:
-the tracking thing with the pheromones? Exists in nature, but most notably with moths. A moth's sense of smell is to a dog's what a dog's is to a human's, that's the base line of it. Moths can find partners via scent from miles away, that's why pheromone traps are so effective: it doesn't need to kill the moths, it just floods the area with pheromones. They're looking for a tiny speck of red, and they'd find it, if only the whole orchard weren't painted red as well. And for anyone wondering about OC ideas: yes, there is a thing called a 'Vampire moth.' No points for guessing how it got its name.
-symbiosis is the default in nature. Humans are born sterile , but already colonised by bacteria as soon as they're born. The Aburame are an impressive bit of symbolism in that regard, taking it to the next level.
-those bugs can eat chakra, administer chakra, but also... got stabbed? Got cut? Bugs can plug your wounds. Even in a worst-case scenario, you don't bleed out.
-while the bugs are presumably immune to genjutsu, the user is not. If it's complex enough, you could theoretically trick the user into pacifying his own bugs. I'd imagine at least some of the Uchiha managed to get that sort of trump card on a fellow clan. Kinda makes me wonder why no one bothered formulating an anti-venom to that paralytic poison, actually...
In the Naruto MovieThe Lost Tower.. Was the 1st time we saw how really cool Minato specially his team wearing a different kind of anbu mask not the generic one and also they're combat gear are different from the anbu, with that we saw his team One from the Akamichi clan and the other one was from the Aburame.. Being under Minato team says a lot, that these people are very Strong 💪 n their clan. But hopefully we know who they really are and that Aburame guy.
Finally! Shino respect. Other than Shikimaru, I'd not want to fight Shino. His intelligence was alwasys clear to me and he has so many abilities with his bugs, yet he constantly holds back (outside of full on war). Thanks for such a good explaination. I felt we should've been sadder when he had to face his "brother" in the anime, but it wasn't explained well why (not to my memory, which tb fair is more than a decade old). Respect Shino! That's why you respect your teachers. Glad we got more of him in Boruto. Hope that continues (and he's not even my fav).
I think their 'passive ability' of being unnoticed, almost invisible like, is because of the bugs. They hide their host's chakra so well, and not only chakra, possibly, even their presence, scent, anything. That's why there's a running gag of Shino being forgettable throughout the series.
Is anyone going to mention the fact that Torune (and all Aburame) should have been immune to edo tensie. At least, bringing back his body would not have brought back the symbiotic bug host that were attached to his original body. He therefore should not have had any of the abilities attached to his bugs in his edo tensei form. I think this is a major oversight in the Naruto manga/anime
It's a good point, but he was used as an edo tensei only in the anime, so it's not an important oversight, the character could be removed with no trouble to the plot.
So when it comes to genjutsu from the Sharingan they don't even need to manipulate chakra in order to put something into genjutsu. This was seen at one point in the anime whenever Sasuke put Manda under genjutsu and Manda is Nature energy and doesn't have chakra. It's specific to the Sharingan.
so if an Abirama clan member learned the flying thunder God they could teleport to there bugs

He has a really cool design. it sad after shipuden kishimoto had no real use of this character. That one of the issue of naruto. kishimito had create so many cool character to root for other than the main cast. but they wasn't all really important for the story. So it dissipointed for the people who attach to does side characters when they endup under used

This isn't even mentioning what Torune was doing when Shino happend upon him: preparing the Jar of Poison technique, a forbidden jutsu of the Aburame
Essentially, you kill a bunch of people, fill their corpses with colonies of venomous nanobugs, toss all of the corpses in a hole, and then cover said hole with a barrier that makes the bugs breed and propagate extremely quickly. Once the barrier fails after a certain amount of time, the compressed cupercolony of venomous nanobugs is promptly deposited in a cloud over a wide area
Essentially, while other people were throwing some water dragons around, Torune was creating a bioweapon that would have probably killed hundreds, if not thousands of people in the shinobi alliance and irreversibly destroyed the local biosphere

There’s proof that behind the Uchiha, the Aburame clan is the strongest in Naruto. Why? They were the only other leaf village clan whose members were historically recorded to have killed a KAGE. Namely, the first Tsuchikage, Ishikawa, given they were recorded to have wiped out most of his clan (the Kamizuru clan), likely during the first great shinobi world war.

My favorite clan that has my favorite character Shino. Too bad he's not as represented in any of the games. I heard that in Shinobi Strikers and Ultimate Ninja series if they incorporated all of Shino's abilities, he would be overpowered.
Basically he will be a snowball zoning character with chakra stealing abilities. Using keep away tactics with perfect tracking.
For why the Kôchû was caught under Genjutsu, it is because its a mangekyô sharingan ability that deforms the perception of reality.
Bugs are not capable of feeling the genjutsu, but Yôji could. Itachi compared that to a Shadow Clone effect.
When a clone disapear, you get all the knowledge from your clone. When Tsukuyomi was used on the bugs, it reflected in the chakra network of Yôji.
Thus, he feeled the suffering of all his insects in mere seconds. Its only possible to do with Tsukuyomi in my opinion.
Shino and Shikamaru was my favorite characters early on. Shino was a genius intelllect,skill,analyzing. He was always steps ahead of his opponents while fighting. Look at his fights.
