  • In this TouchDesigner tutorial we create fractals using a very simple feedback technique.
There's lots of room for experimentation, try different inputs as well!

Thank you for this awesome and informative video. For the many people seeking clarification on how this works: the information in the feedback TOP and the overlay comp being routed to the average comp are identical due to it being a feedback loop. If you were to send a duplicate overlay comp to the average comp instead of sending from the feedback TOP, you will get the same outcome. The magic is all happening in the average comp.

My first ever results in TD, I am loving the output. don't understand a thing, jet I am replicating your steps, I can se that null* is like a crosswalk - provides more then one input/output option. Lesson was constructive, a bit fast, almost easy to follow (I got stuck with connecting keyboardin1 to feedback1 /resolved). Much obliged

Thanks! True, can't claim I fully understand it. But I learned that with feedback loops, it often doesn't matter that much. It's closer to painting for me 😌

Does anyone know how to solve this problem: when I drag Comp node to Feedback it doesn't connect. Nothing happens. This has been an ongoing problem I'm not sure why because it used to work on the first tutorial I've followed watching you.
