- In this TouchDesigner tutorial we create fractals using a very simple feedback technique.
There's lots of room for experimentation, try different inputs as well!

Thank you for this awesome and informative video. For the many people seeking clarification on how this works: the information in the feedback TOP and the overlay comp being routed to the average comp are identical due to it being a feedback loop. If you were to send a duplicate overlay comp to the average comp instead of sending from the feedback TOP, you will get the same outcome. The magic is all happening in the average comp.
You are an amazing educator. Internet is a much nicer place because of people like you. Thank you for the great work!
you are amazing! learning something just playing with the net is awsome
this one's so powerful in such a short amount of time wow
Just started checking out your tutorials. You do a great job with these! Learning a lot pretty fast so far, thank you.
i was looking for this video some months ago, and now you uploaded it a month ago. perfect!! thank you :D
This is insane and elegant
This is the most gorgeous thing I’ve ever seen🥹🫶🏾
this technique is so fascinating, useful yet so simple!! cheers from taiwan.
This is very amazing and powerful. I hope to understand the principles behind this. I feel the feedback top has a lot of possibilities in this video. Thank you.
Thank you, it's really simple, beautiful and amazing!!!))
That's insane! Thanks for sharing this technique!
All the time better... clear speaking... BRAVO!!!!
Fantastic tutorial - many thanks from Canada!
This is amazing!
Thank you man! Awesome and easy! Wow!
Incredible!
I was looking for doing this in an easy way for over 1 year. thank you so much
Insane how simple this was! Love it, experimenting a lot with it! :) Great job as always:)
Thanks, have fun :)
thank you! this makes me feel in another world! keep going!
AWESOME! Thank you!
amazing stuff!
ohh, simple spuer and very good result! . Less is more. thanks for the trick!
Love It! I have actually been doing this for years since I first played with feedback in 2017...always just assumed everyone had pushed it to the max...
Nope haha though I thought someone must've found out before me..
incredible ! thanks a lot ♥
Great tutorial! I already have it working
Amazing ! Thanks a lot for this :)
You are amazing man thank you so much
amazing! thanks!
Caught me by surprise when the fractals first appeared; didn't realize they'd show so soon in the tutorial!
Thank you, this is a quintessential tutorial if you ask me.
Thanks for your amazing tutorials!
That's amazing
Thank you very much!
This seems way too easy for the results you can get, but I'm very excited to try it out. Thanks for the video!
nice bro!!!!
Nice one, Thx :)
Thank you. 감사합니다.
this is wild
My first ever results in TD, I am loving the output. don't understand a thing, jet I am replicating your steps, I can se that null* is like a crosswalk - provides more then one input/output option. Lesson was constructive, a bit fast, almost easy to follow (I got stuck with connecting keyboardin1 to feedback1 /resolved). Much obliged
thanks!!!
Can be a good combo also with convole + sharper... to make a sort of fraktal reaction diffusion ... i ll try Tomorrow thanks again !!!
Greetings! Thank you for what you are doing! You have very useful video tutorials. Some have been in my useful collections for a long time. Can you make a small tutorial video on Julia or Mandelbrot in Touchdesigner? Please
Does not work for me. Followed all the steps and I just get slow moving blurry shapes
Very interesting. How would you proceed to map this to 360 video, into a sphere, in other words.
Can you touch on how to use input from a keyboard or kinect to change the time values or scale values?
This is really cool!! it’s hard to understand the feedback logic but so simple. Thank you for your sharing! 😊
Thanks! True, can't claim I fully understand it. But I learned that with feedback loops, it often doesn't matter that much. It's closer to painting for me 😌
cool
okay krass :O
👍👍👍👍👍
Hi bro, could you show us how to import mandelbulb 3d fractal in touchdesigner?
Does anyone know how to solve this problem: when I drag Comp node to Feedback it doesn't connect. Nothing happens. This has been an ongoing problem I'm not sure why because it used to work on the first tutorial I've followed watching you.
Hey! Really nice tutorial! May I ask you what´s wrong in my touchdesigner because when I drag the comp on the Feedback nothing happens.. ? Maybe you have a quick answer. Thank you so much!
Had the same problem. I restart the tutorial from the beginning and it's work. Pretty sure I have no make errors and it's a bug.
Same I’ll try that also 😢
Can anyone explain what happened here with the feedback in the context of mathematics or coding?
owe you a beer. or whatever you drinkin on some water is coo also. ;)
beer's absolutely fine haha
"Because of feedback..."
How to make it more interesting with colors? not just monochrome?
lookup + ramp top :)
