If it were me I'd be so pissed too, and the fact that they just ghosted you after you told them to cancel the order 😡 I would just return it, I'm just this petty. The colours looks great in the swatches but if they don't perform the same on the eye... this palette also has more repetitive shades than the first collab, I wasn't really impressed. I just received my JP Nubian Earth palette too, I'm so pleased with that one, I love the couple of pleasant little surprises in there 💕
My palette shipped after 8 days. A month to ship is too long and they took a while to reply to your emails. Indies sometimes use the excuse that they are a one person or two person team, and at times we can't critique them without Karen Stans of the brand getting mad at us in the comments sections. That happened to me once with Shroud when I said that the brand owner can learn from her mistakes and improve later. A grouchy Karen Stan subscriber from another channel made an angry comment towards me, but I didn't reply to not add fuel to the fire. 😂I think it's important for brand owners to manage customers' expectations. If there's a possibility that the order may take a few weeks to ship, they should let the customers know that upfront, so they know what to expect before they decide to buy. Or they can hire temporary help, even hire their parents, partners, siblings, etc. to help with orders.
The shades in this palette and the first collab are gorgeous, but I'm really hesitant to purchase from small indie brands (smaller than Sydney Grace, Oden's Eye, etc) precisely because of customer service and return policy if something goes wrong. When I first hear about an unfamiliar indie brand, it takes at least 6 months of me keeping an eye on them before I have the guts to go ahead with a purchase and I hadn't heard the best things about Shroud (back when they were Strobe Cosmetics) so that's what actually stopped me from trying to get the first Battybean palette. And then when I heard about the mess of that launch it definitely put me off the brand completely. Hearing your customer service experience makes me feel like I made the right choice skipping not just this palette but the brand as a whole. But the way this collab sells out, there's no shortage of people wanting to purchase from them instead of me anyway. lol.

I actually wasn't going to grab this, bcos as much as I love Betty Jean, I prefer the first colour story & I like this one, but wasn't AS blown away. The price & shipping costs put me right off in the end, & I was very lucky to be gifted it. It's a shame you didn't like the palette that much 😟 (can't remember if you have the first & if you liked it? 🤔) but I'm interested to play with mine now. Have to say, I thought the same about the mattes as you were blending, which doesn't happen with the Freakin Bats 🤷🏾 We'll see. The shimmers you placed on the lid were beautiful tho, but you're right - 45 bucks to like 4 shimmers isn't great! Tfs as always 😘
I was so happy to see this video. I didn't buy this palette but I got the Theresa Is Lethal, and I like the shimmers but the mattes turn so patchy on me :( but everyone else loves it (which is great) but it's good to see a different opinion out there!

I ordered this eyeshadow palette with her other one but I waited months and months to order them because I knew it was going to take a long time to arrive had I ordered them when they first came out. When I did decide to order them both, they arrived to me in about 5 day’s. I haven’t used them yet. When I do use bright eyeshadow color’s, I use a white or beige eyeshadow base so the color’s could pop. I see what you were saying how your color’s were fading. I too over blend at time’s. Also, orange and green turns into brown if blended together too good. Just like blue and yellow, makes green. I have to always remind myself when doing colorful eyeshadow. I’m sorry the eyeshadow palette didn’t work for you. If you decide to use it again, try a lighter eyeshadow base and pack the color’s on deep in your skin then lightly blend. I really love MAC (soft ochre) when doing bright color’s because I don’t have to set it. Glamlite also have some really nice eyeshadow base that’s wayyyyy cheaper but they work just as good as MAC. You just have to wait like a minute until it dries down then apply your eyeshadow. Wonderful video you did though. 💛 I’ve been watching your video’s for the last couple day’s and have been enjoying them so I decided to subscribe to your channel. 🥰
The traditional colour/themed Halloween palettes typically don't do it for me and Hallo Bean was an easy pass given Shroud's history of ghosting customers. This wasn't Shroud's first rodeo with a popular collab and launch; that they didn't know and do better this time around is just total disregard for their customers IMO.

I ordered the its freakin bats palette a week ago. When the restock of hallobean came back they claim its freakin bats was just restocked but it was already up last week. I am done with this company. She is deceiving and doesn't communicate at all. I feel bad for batty bean. I ordered from a similar one woman company last week and I got my order quick. I'm sorry but Shroud Cosmetics is terrible

Do you ever use a white or very light base for lighter shadows? I use it when I work with pastels or if I really want a color to pop on my skin tone. I'm wondering if a white base set with translucent powder would help the green and other colors show up more. ABH, Juvia's Place and P. Louise have light bases. Those lighter mattes don't really seem medium to deep skin tone friendly.

Sometimes people go on about how much they love or are friends with the collaborators or brand owners when they review something, and it makes me question how unbiased the review is. I rather have an unbiased review so I can make an informed decision on whether or not something is worth it to me. I'm not buying "just to support" anyone; only buying based on the quality.🙂
I don't like pre orders,by the time I get it I've already lost interest 😂I have olive skin most yellow and green indie shades don't work for me except blend bunny and melt

It didn't occur to me to use a light base because these colors look so rich and fall inspired. These mattes just didn't work well for my skin tone.
