Thank you for this video. I developed driving anxiety during pandemic in the beginning of 2021. I’ve had 2-3 panic attacks while driving and mostly stop lights trigger the anxiety I think because I feel trapped. I just want my old life back when going for a drive was fun & 2nd nature.

Oh my sorry to hear that. If you want, you can drive one handed from the passenger seat with a patient driver in the parking lot. If you feel you are beyond this point, recommended to split driving trips you can drive to your destination and the other driver can drive you back home. I recommend this option so you can drive half the trip so you wont have all the presure on you. Please use your discretion, it is up to you. I am sure you know your driving limits. Best wishes in feeling better behind the wheel. God Bless.

This is probably the best driving video ever because everything she said made sense. She said the same thing I was thinking about facing your fear of driving. I love when she said to pull over for breaks if the anxiety becomes overwhelming. I would only added to look at family vacation pictures, and inhale perfume or cologne while doing the 478 technique. God Bless.

Thank you so much for making this video. I have dealt with severe driving anxiety since being postpartum. After I had my daughter I had my first panic attack driving over a bridge on the interstate. I thought I was definitely going to faint and had no where to pull over. I’ve gone thru ups and downs recovering. I have thought I was over it, and then had major set backs. The biggest thing I’ve learned is to not put too much pressure on myself and respect my limits, while still pushing my comfort zones. For me it hasn’t been something I can just exposure therapy myself with, it’s an absolutely debilitating phobia that takes time and practice. I often really critiqued myself for not being normal and able to drive places like I wanted to. I have recently been doing a lot better and it feels good to celebrate the baby steps. It means a lot to see a video about this issue because it’s a very isolating and embarrassing thing to deal with on a daily basis, and it helps to see other people who are also working on driving anxiety

Ughk. I’m 27 and never had my license. I want it so bad because I feel absolutely trapped in my apartment all of the time, but the DMV scares me so much.

Don't be afraid to make mistakes and go at your own pace. I would recommend you do predriving task, such as using the keys to start the ignition, putting gas in the car, using the GPS to help drivers get to a destination, and sitting in front of the car. Sitting in the passenger seat is 1 of the closest things to driving because sometimes you might have to help the driver grab the wheel. Please dont give up. Best wishes. God Bless.

im 32 and still don't have my license. I just hate driving so much. When i drive i am talking to myself and smiling saying "this is fun, I love driving" its the only thing that will stop me from panicking. And the DMV is awful near where I live, they are so rude, its a nightmare dealing with them.

Mandy the thought of people discussing cars, miles and "hitting the road" still gets to me and I am scared to go to the DMV but I'm trying to get over my fear for 2022. I get it I'm 25 and I really want to get out into the world and I know this is the only way.

Please stay strong and don't give up. I know it is easier said than done. I am proud of you for being brave in facing your fear by getting out of your comfort zone around those aggressive drivers, which is full of them in the big apple. Perhaps, you can find someone very patient or understanding to go with you the next time so you wont feel uncomfortable. It is just a thought, but it is up to you. Please keep me posted once you becone very comfortable behind the wheel. God Bless.

I agree with a couple of others have written - definately more difficult than it sounds to beat the fear of driving.
Be careful and seek advice from others. I looked round many websites and discovered a lot of expert advice by searching google on sites like Roys Quick Fix. Good luck and hope you succeed!
