Brief bio on The 4th Kyabje Sangten Lobsang Tendhar Rinpoche
Rinpoche was born in 1971. He underwent extensive training in Buddhist philosophy at Yolmo Chusang Monastery and Sera Monastic University. He received his Bikshu ordination from His Holiness the 14th Dalai Lama, who also formally recognized him as the reincarnation of the 3rd Sangten Rinpoche. In 2008, he achieved the distinguished Geshe Tsokrampa degree. Following his tenure as the Abbot of Shelkar Choede Monastery in Kathmandu, Nepal, from 2008 to 2016, he returned to his life as a hermit (Tsampak) atop Upper TCV hill while also serving as the honorary head lama of Shelkar Choede Monastery and Khenpo of Dhasa Sera Nyungne Lhakhang.
