Real Madrid versus Bayern Munich in the second leg of the 2023/2024 Champions League semi-final, Playing at the Santiago Bernabeu, Los Blancos won with a score of 2-1.
Bayern Munich's defeat to Real Madrid in the Champions League was difficult for Thomas Tuchel to accept. The German coach questioned the referee's decision in the match. Tuchel was very disappointed with referee Szymon Marciniak's leadership in the match. He felt the court referee had made bad decisions.
According to beIN Sport, the referee made a fatal error by blowing the whistle before there was any final action on the ball.
beIN Sports considered Mazraoui, who received the ball, to be onside before passing the ball to De Ligt who eventually scored although it was not authorised.
De Ligt was deemed not to have actively intervened in the movement of the ball so even though he was standing onside it shouldn't have been counted offside as it was Mazraoui who was active.
Tuchel later confirmed that referee Szymon Marciniak had apologised, but it didn't help that Real Madrid will qualify for the final versus Borussia Dortmund at Wembley Stadium.

A rematch? Tuchel should ask the French how to do this... the latter wanted a rematch of the last world cup final
