On March 25th, Swedish metal kings Amon Amarth will unleash their 10th studio album, Jomsviking - the band's first concept record in their storied career - tells a tragic tale of love and revenge, backed by the Swedes' trademark melodic, anthemic metal, which was produced and mixed once again by Andy Sneap (Megadeth, Testament, Accept). The epic original story is set in the world of the Jomsvikings, the legendary order of mercenary Vikings.

It seems, based off these two singles for "Jomsviking" that AA is bringing back the storytelling aspect like they had in "Fate of Norn's" where Johan uses a spoken word vocal style occasionally. It sounds amazing.

Sure. Amon Amarth changed a little, but I still like this, as much as I liked Twilight. Nothing beats Deceiver, Surtur and With Oden for me, though. Amon is still awesome and kick ass band doing justice to good old Gotheburg metal.

Still kickin ass better than some of their contemporaries, but their sound has changed a lot since those blood-fueled early days. The epicness has lessened for me. Listening to Last with Pagan Blood makes me want to scale a mountain....this is toe-tapping good fun but not very inspiring IMHO.
