The whole time I thought the pelican was his wife.
I thought her name was Pelican😂
I thought his wife was a pelican also
I thought that she was called pelican something and the person making it thought he was asking for her to be fed to him...
Me toooo...we got same brain bro
Same here!
He saw the size of the bill.
Best comment
Too good man
Too good
they give the bill afterward u are finish with the food here in sweden
@@nouton7432 bill is another word for beak.
"Is he allergic to fish?" Good investigative question that made me chuckle.
Crazy is that I watched a 17 minute video to see if she gets the answer!
You two are pure entertainers.
Love this. So I tried this on my girlfriend, 10 minutes in she gave up and demanded the answer. I told her. She hated it and thought it was the dumbest thing ever haha.
Hahaha
sounds like its time for a new girlfriend
11:31 'Did a cereal kill her?' lol
I've always loved Lateral thinking puzzles and I've looked for youtube channels with them before without much luck. Really happy to see you guys doing these, hope you make more.
Been loving all the content you’re putting out recently Wes 😘
I was so happy when she finally got the answer! Didn't figure it out until a minute before she did. Would've been longer without this video lol crazy video, loved it
Kristen is such a saint for putting up with you, it must be love!
OMG so much fun! I was following right along and had a blast!
But wait, why did he make the connection after eating the second soup that if the first soup wasn't pelican soup, then he HAD to be eating his wife (as opposed to some other bird besides pelican that doesn't taste like pelican and was misidentified)?
second soup? There was only one soup. But yea, I don't get why he'd immediately think it was his wife either. I don't think it was explained very well. I was expecting an explanation and a backstory and stuff once she had figured it out but nope, nothin lol
His wife is missing and he has meat soup. Who the heck made him that soup?
We did this in cable tv tech service orientation to demonstrate the uselessness of Close Ended questions. It took 15 people FIVE HOURS!
Man good one! Thanks for keeping me entertained 🙏🏼 😊🙏🏼 love your stuff!!!
More!!
These are great.
Nice video, I really liked it!! Now I got to try it on my friends thanks. Keep this type of video coming!!
Only Wes can make such a morbid thing interesting.
True!
Finally had time to watch it, great video as slays guys and now time for me to watch the last one ❤️
Have to say you have an amazing place. The natural lighting and kitchen are amazing. Oh yeah and more importantly the video was AMAZING
do more of these!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Well done! Very impressive to complete it solo.
i love this wes!
"it didn't remind him of the taste of his wife" WES: "what does that mean?" 😂
This conversation 😂😂😂
I enjoyed this more than any movie on Netflix 😂
Loved it
😂😂😂
👍👍👍
"Is he a pelican?" LOL!!!
I’ve heard the same riddle years ago except it was albatross not pelican. She did a great job guessing without others in a group!
Love riddles i never get the answer of any riddles.love your videos
Me either!😕☺
It always give me chills when someone figures it out, like I'm realizing it along side them
WES where did you get that black and grey wallpaper? I love it
I love these. I used to do them with friends a lot. The one that was pulled out most commonly with new people was, Romeo came home and found Juliet on the floor dead. There is water and glass around her, what happened? So much fun! The video was really enjoyable.

@@zalbercook the fishbowl broke :-)
Thats a really good one
I figured the pelican ate his wife therefore he ate his wife
I thought he was fed chunks of wife along with the soup initially, but when you said its perfectly normal soup that confused the hell out of me lol
This is more like I thought of a terrible story fill in the details.
Pelican crossing? The taste, I can only think of one thing 🤣
Haha. It's a crazy game.
It is different content i have seen this days by the way i love your videos
Wes barker I love your videos
It true
Thanks Wes
Who wouldn't
Desert islands have restaurants? lol This riddle seems like it's supposed to start with "A man eats pelican soup, then kills himself"
What a fun riddle. Great game to play when having friends over for dinner....while serving pelican soup. 😉
She's awesome!
I also thought he was a Pelican. 😆
Knew of the answer already because I’ve heard of the riddle before but watched the whole video because I was interested in her thinking process in getting to the solution
Most people start this game with the "Man Found dead in a room with 52 bicycles" scenario
11:22 "Who does that?" - A PELICAN! It has to be these damn PELICANS!!!
I know this riddle from elementary school. Our religion teacher did it with us - one of the few lessons I remember really well :)
Lol I wish I never knew how he found out 🤣🤣but that was really good I have to play it with my friends
I've done a somewhat similar riddle but with penguin soup.
One of the questions I would have asked was "Was his wife's nickname Pelican?".
Love that moment when it clicks for her
I don’t get this why lateral puzzle is the one I hear the most. It’s got such a big backstory for such a depressing answer. It doesn’t feel like an aha moment it feels like aw damn that’s sad. The payoff feels depressing
i've heard this one as turtle soup here in Spain.
OMG this had me like what? ... wait what! ... WTF !!!
Hahahaha
we have a variant of this in sweden. my dad used this riddle for use kids when we were young and we were on a roadtrip. i think it got us years until we got it. mostly beacuse we forget alot after every roadtrip XD now i use this riddle alot formy friends etc XD
I knew the answer about 1 minute and twenty seconds in. I realized I had heard something similar before but it was best friend instead of wife and the soup was seagull.
For people looking to play even more similar riddles with their friends, there's an app that has similar scenarios: play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.icecover.darkstories&hl=en
apps.apple.com/us/app/dark-stories/id1244678252
(Not my app. Just one that I like)
I srsly thought that the answer is related to his mug ughh
I thought his wife’s name was Pelican😂
He did say multiple times this was an ordinary bowl of “Pelican Soup” and the only thing in the bowl was Pelican so having her name be “Pelican” is about the only way to make this and all the other answers true.
7:08 Just Pelican Soup
I was sitting here for nearly the whole video thinking that the guy's wife's name was Pelican.
I was crushed when wes said he wasn't a pelican
I thought he was the owner of the restaurant, specializing in pelican soup and pelican soup only, and realizing how bad the soup was, he knew his business would fail, so he killed himself.
21 minutes of my life... gone because of pelican soup. 😊I do enjoy their videos though
The entire time I was convinced he was married to a pelican and didn’t realize it, or their last name was also Pelican
She faked her death, oooh was her wedding ring in the bird, ahhh good one haha
Legends
I screamed "His wife is a pelican!" for like 15 minutes.
Er... Was... Rather....
10:13 is when I came up with my theory and I won't spoil it here.
11:18 the wild theory I had before is more correct now than the one I just came up with
i've heard the same story, but it was a turtle soup
When is the next season of Firefly coming out?
he learned this riddle at many point in boy scouts
Someone did this riddle to me and it took forever to find out !
He went outside, after eating the soup, and got run over by a car full of pelicans!! It was a mob hit!
Isn't some detail missing here? Like, how could he have known what his wife tasted like? As some guys said, the bottom line is, how did the guy realize this. I'd say, for example, that while he was eating, he felt something in his mouth that turned out to be his wife's wedding band, recognizable for the (braille) engraving within. Or something like that. That part about that unerring association is what missing here for me. Great video by the way, I was going to ask if the guy was a pelican, too. Oh *and not to mention the similarities between the toucan on your mug and the pelican in the upper right corner* haha! Cheers!
10:32 "After he died"?
In my country they call these blues stories
Brilliant idea you guys, loved this.
LIKE this comment if you want another one... 👍
This gave me the creeps haha
Omg my brain
OMG, I just got it!....at the 5:33 mark.......and I wasn't even close. :D
A restaurant with only 3 people on it?
Not a restaurant a deserted island
“Did the taste remind him of his wife” iykyk 👀
10:06 ... Pretty sure her name wasn't Pelican, but at this point I have nothing else...
You need to start he walks off a boat and into a restaurant. So that, they have that tiny clue of. Boat to work backwards in the story. Without that then questions csn go for ages. Boat gives a tiny but also not huge giveaway clue.
First of all, what is on your shirt? Living near the water and lots of pelicans, every time I see a pelican, I'm going to think of this riddle. That was so crazy and bizarre, but at the same time it was funny trying to guess.
You can always change it to turtle soup!
Dang it!!!! Im so irritated right now!! But I REFUSE to go straight to the answer. NO! I WONT DO!!!!!
40 seconds in. I am just gonna go with "ok." As my answer.
Ok i guess the missing part of the actual riddle, is the word "why?" My brain just took it as a statement.
Wait, but he ordered it. I guess they read him the menu 😂. Unless... it wasn’t a restaurant at all...
He asked for pelican soup so they brought him pelican soup
At around 3 minutes I started wondering why the man was biting soup
*Wes* Ok, now wait. A blind man walks into a restaurant on a deserted island and orders pelican soup. Was this Gilligan's island?? 😂
THANK YOU
I think this is after being rescued from the island. He probably had suspicions about what they fed him once his wife died and needed to confirm the actual taste of pelican soup when he got back home.
He's no longer on the deserted island dum dum
DANG IT!! I CHEATED!!! Im so disappointed in myself!!
We did this riddle thirty years ago but it was penguin soup
I heard it 45 years ago and it was Pelican
Morbid...but good 👍 even i was like fuck how did I not figure that out lol good job guys. And good Kristin for sticking through it. My wife would've said fuck it give me the answer in less than 5 minutes lol
One clarification - so when they guy ate the pelican soup, he realized he has not eaten pelican soup on the island. Why would he immediately conclude he had eaten his wife? Are there no other possibilities?
They wouldn’t have lied to him if it was anything other than his wife.
@@WesBarker So he's had pelican soup before? How would he know they're lying?
i already know this it was in backstories, but with a lizard (Iguanidae)
Googling pelican soup...
Eewwww....I’m never ordering pelican soup. 😝
I have a good one for you .. If you were outside an old tower that had 3 light switches on the bottom of the entrance outside... You only have one chance to see which of the 3 light switches turn on the light inside the top of the tower. You only get one chance to open the door after flicking the switches to climb the 100 floors up to see if you right or wrong... If you are right you win the tower, if you are wrong , you are dead. ..
Also a classic.
(spoiler below) [I think people who can't figure it out after one year deserve a solution]
Turn on the first switch and wait ten minutes.
Turn off the first switch.
Turn on the second switch.
Run up the stairs,
If the light is on, it was the second switch.
If the bulb is warm but dark, it was the first switch.
If the bulb is off and cold, it is the third switch.
100 floors up is 1000 feet. Better to make it one floor up, and out of sight.
is the soup made out of his wife? lol
What are the words on Kristin’s t-shirt?
Looks like The Black Keys
