(And by the way talent will only get you so far without hard work.) But many people refuse to believe talent exists because they don't want to accept two things. They don't like the idea that you can't be anything you want to be, no matter how hard you work, if you don't have the talent for it. And they don't like the idea that some people are born better than others. But it's all true--talent is a thing. Just like innate personality traits are a thing. All genres are great but my favorites are showcasing how beautiful you play. You have amazing skills. I took a break learning how to play the piano. I think the Piano and Violin are probably the most beautiful instruments when you want to hear something moving. I say all that to say this. Listening and watching your videos has me back at learning how to play the piano. I know it’s not the violin but your ability and love of music is inspiring. I am sure you have a inspired many others along the way. I know you must be busy but I hope you continue to share your videos with us and I will continue to watch as a subscriber! Thank you!

@@angryroy6277 Haha, let me rephrase, since the impression I left you seems to be the opposite of my intention.
My point is that the listeners featured in this video value cultural relevance and familiarity over technique. I think this is the case with most people. It was not written to slight them.
On technical skills, Rob's playing is anything but basic. Whether pop or classical, he plays with masterful musicality and "effortlessly" injects his own flair. People can play anything and make it sound dead or alive. Rob never delivers a stillborn and that's what people appreciated, to go back to my original comment.
In case I misread your message: Maybe a couple of the listeners began with some apathy, thinking, "Great... another boring classical player," but Landes blew that smugness straight out of the water every time and they ended up enjoying his gift to them.
