    Bought my Mk 3.5 Titanium 1.5 tdci 120 in June 2021 with 71k miles on the clock. I have covered 16k miles in the car to Sept 2022. Mechanically and electrics wise there have been no issues with the car except that the air con system needed a new condenser unit and to be regassed - total cost of this repair was €400. Fuel economy has been really strong with the car averaging 57mpg. The car looks sporty, especially from the side and front. Refinement levels, especially tyre and road noise are much improved over the mk 2.5 model, which I owned previously. Gearbox is lovely to use and with cruise control, SYNC 3 and dual zone climate control, the car has all the tech I need. There is some very clever storage options in the centre console. Finally, the car is very refined when just cruising, but if you find a twisty back road, and you decide to have a little fun, the car comes alive and puts a smile on my face, by the way it corners and responds.
    On the downside, the the driver seat angle on the Titanium spec is a little steeper than the mk 2.5 and the mk 3.5 Zetec seats which leads to moderate back ache/bum ache on longer trips (i.e. trips of say more than 1 hour…in future, a driver seat with “tilt” functionality is advised if there are concerns about the angle of decline on the driver’s seat…Also, I am 6ft 2 in height, so it maybe that shorter drivers will not experience the same issue - I use a wedge cushion which has improved the issue a lot - just wondering does anyone have any other suggestions to make the driver's seat more comfortable on long runs - much appreciated

      I have the exact same car. Mk3.5 titanium x 1.5 TDCI. I’d challenge anyone to bring me a better car in its class. Especially when it comes to the way it drives!!! It has virtually no limits. The 1.5s and 2.0s are absolutely bulletproof engines. Build quality is up there with the premium brands, maybe even better.
      I could go on and on! Fantastic cars!

    Just got the Titanium X. Talk about value for money! Drives really well. I tired the A3, 1 Series and Golf and punted for the Focus on this Trim. They are all great hatches but the Focus in Titanium X just gives so much extras for your money and coupled with the generally agreed upon best driving experience in the class with engines not far off VW it was a no brainer (and may I say the front end is a match for anything in the class). Build quality this time round is much improved (I have driven the older model and yep Ford has upped their game). It really is hard to beat. Resale don't care you always are ripped off by dealers I have never found trading in a money maker on the back end, but I suspect the Titanium X trim will hold up well as it is packed with toys people will want over say style and zetec which are not. The problem with Ford is the Focus trims start at total basic crap all the way up to above spec of any German hatch. It is hard to compare therefore. The only downside is yes German cars have this marketing factor that they are super exclusive (which is generally nothing more than marketing as they are also mass produced lol) - but if you don't wanna be thought of as super cool but want toys toys toys and a great driving car at a good price - here it is! Yanks still make great cars.

    I am in the market for a new(ish) car and have the Focus towards the top of my wish list. I already own a 2009 model which has been WONDERFUL to own. My current model is an Econetic with a 1.6 diesel. How does the 2015 Titanium Navigation Econetic stack up?

    • @AutoTraderTV
      @AutoTraderTV Před 7 lety

      Hi Eric. Simple answer is that, if you loved your 2009 Focus, you’ll adore the 2015 model. Very similar in character and still fun to drive, but a little more comfortable, a little quieter, a little better on interior quality and a little better equipped. The steering isn’t quite as sharp (it’s an electric system rather than hydraulic), but the other improvements more than make up for that. Econetic engine is just as good as before and even more economical. We’d always advise you to try before you buy to make sure you’re happy with the car, and there’s no harm in having a look at rival hatches like the VW Golf and Seat Leon as well. But, if the Focus floats your boat above those cars, there’s no reason not to. Happy motoring!

    The video is factually incorrect as the rear seats do fold completely flat. You do however need to raise the base in order to achieve this.

    • @AutoTraderTV
      @AutoTraderTV Před 9 lety +2

      We’d disagree. Even when you fold the seat bases out of the way, the backrests lie at a slight angle.

    • @salihalexanderesq.2243
      @salihalexanderesq.2243 Před 9 lety +3

      Auto Trader Hey, I'm in America. The Focus seats DO fold flat. You have to pull the seat bottoms from the back up and forward. Then, you can put the seat backs down. However, if you do that, the front seat would have to be forward a bit. Not great for tall drivers. If you can't put the seat all the way down, then the load floor is angled. The set up is similar to the old Ford Escape (2012).

      1.0l engine is bit too under powered when leaving from stand still. You can feel it bogging down a bit when releasing clutch. If you drive lot in cities with traffic lights it can get annoying. Runs suprisingly well on road speeds though.
      1.5l engine feels completely different in those same situations. There's enough torque to make safe passings on highways and can give nice feel of acceleration.
