Dear Ryan, I am unable to find how to send you this privately, so here it is : I would like to apologise for my previous comment on this page. It was a mere lightly humoristic-sarcastic slightly provocative reaction to the word "take-over" which I found an absolute euphemism. I just realised that it triggered a strong reaction from one of the viewers and I certainly didn't want to initiate a hate debate on this page. This is not the place for it. I hope I didn't upset you or worse. Your video is so instructive and detailed that I actually added it to the BGG Patolli topic. Thank you a thousand times for taking the time to enlighten us. It is really appreciated.
Hello Ryan! I am reading a newly released 2020 fantasy book called Black Sun by Rebecca Roanhorse and she writes about this game. Your video puts a great picture in my head, thank you! I was wondering what happens with multiple of your pieces on the board, when you roll the beans do you move all of your pieces forward that number? Or pick and choose which ones you move forward?
Make it, get some wood or a white fabric in the square shape and pencil it out then carve or paint it on. You can even do little designs and glyfos within each space and around it to make it like special edition haha. My girlfriend and I are doing a few with the main direction colors as well as elements and then a more fancy one with all filled in with Mexihka deity’s and spirits of nature.
This is same as Pachisi (P{as in papaya}-chi {as in chick}-si {as in sea})in India. This ain't coincidence Lol. The exact things aren't coincidence. Pandavas are said to lose the same game, against deceitful Kauravas with Shakuni, in Mahabharat. I highly doubt of this being a mere coincidence as Copan Temples in Hondarus give other Indian similarities too. They surely were related culturally to Bharat (Indian subcontinent today)
Great explanation!
Greetings from Mexico!

Thank you for sharing the rules un english!
That is without a doubt the best explanation I've heard of this game. Could it be played without gambling ?
It certainly could be by just using generic tokens, or just skipping the rule altogether.

just wondering if it's not pronounced patoyee...??
I dont think so, i think the double l means that syllable is emphasized still pronounced like a normal L
@@citrusblast4372 it is actually Yeh. In spanish the double L is pronounced as Y (as is Yes)
In nahuatl, we say the double "L" as the english "L" sound, not the spanish "LL
"
I was playing tomb raider and this game was mentioned
That's why I'm here too.
spanish invasion. It was not a cultural exchange and it was not a conquering, but an alien invasion
✊🏽🔥🔥✊🏽 DE-colonize!
Kinda sounds like sorry lol

No creo que haya relación alguna, ademas este juego es de origen Teotihuacano.
