RL Stine was originally a comedy author and it shows. Dude makes everything in his books into a joke or a prank. It gets annoying sometime, but a goosebumps book that’s actually scary sounds dope.
Just finished reading “Ghost Camp” for the first time. I completely agree with you. It was extremely creepy! The ending was really eerie too. Definitely in my top ten goosebumps books! I’m surprised that more people don’t talk about this book. Great review btw. 👍🏼
Ghost Camp was Always my favorite of the summer camp Goosebumps stories. It has been a while since I reread it though, I remember vividly certain scenes, stuff the campers did as "practical jokes", even though I love the horror genre, so this stuff doesn't bother me. However this was some gnarly images for a Goosebumps book, Its definitely one of the horrific entries and in my honest opinion...its on par with Welcome to dead house and I live in your basement..which are some of the scariest books in the original run.

this is one of the most recent i have read. I really enjoyed it and it was a very fast paced read. I enjoyed this one. I could almost feel myself hiking and sitting by the fire with the kids. I liked the part about the cool puddle. I also didn't really care for his singing myself LOL. Neat book.

Great review, Michael! 👏🙂 Ghost Camp was my FAVORITE Goosebumps book as a kid. I admit I haven’t read all of them- but still a lot. Because it’s been over 2 decades since that time, I forgot a lot of them. But not Ghost Camp!!🏕 It’s still stuck in my memory. I remember vividly how it freaked me out and how worried I was about the ending 😱 I’m glad you also enjoyed it and rated it high🏅☺️
It’s a phenomenal read! One of the best of the original books! I’m glad a lot of the community has come around to it, over the last four years of me preaching about how incredible it was lol. It’s good to see people really acknowledging how incredible Stine’s work was, in a book like this. Being a massive urban legend fan, this hits the spot so perfectly. Best camping book ever, too lol. In my opinion, this one was the scariest Goosebumps book.
