  • I want my patio table to last another summer or two but it is showing its age. Some rust and corrosion can grow quickly. I am going to prep and paint the worst spots so that the rust stops.

At the beginning of the video I was thinking that the work involved might not be worth the hassle, and then your positive words of support and confidence at the beginning of the video inspired me with the confidence I needed to give this a try! I'm just moving in to a new house, so I've got other more pressing tasks for now, but I'm excited to revive my patio furniture soon!

Thanks so much for your kind words. And BTW, the job stood the test of time through a northern winter as well

Dennis!! Thank you so much for this video! I have the exact problem and was having a hard time figuring out what to do about it. Glad to know it doesn't take a bunch of fancy stuff to repair my table. 😀

Well presented. Very helpful for my project of painting my outdoor metal swing that has rusted over time.

i bought the exact same piece of garbage patio set from Home Depot, my table is perfect, but my chairs are an absolute rusty mess. I did this once already but the rust won't quit.

Well…The areas I painted in the video are just as good after a whole winter but the chairs have gotten bad. It got us one more year out of the set but you are correct.

A friend recommended powder coating but I suspect that will cost as much as new chairs.

I took a chop off of the table to Home Depot and just looked for the best match.

We have the same table- what color rust oleum did you use?

    • @homerehabpros9617

I would have to check on the color. I took a large chip to Home Depot and looked for the closest match. It worked pretty good

Those are cast iron furniture. If they are cast aluminum then you won't see those rust.
