I remember the '91 season well, new 3.5lt group C cars and Jaguar got right first time. It was an extremely fast car, basically an F1 car in different clothing. Jean Todt was doing his nut in because he thought his Peugeot group C cars were the bees knees and the Jags were about a second a lap quicker! I think it was a Brawn/Piper design built by TWR.? Wonderful video and a great sound, not quite the sound of the screaming V12, but still a great sound track.
In 1991, (arguably) this most impressive of all the Jaguars, like, ever, clinched 6 wins, including 11 pole positions, in the 19 races it entered in 1991.
Awesome car! It did very well in 1991 and even sold chassis to Mazda (Mazda MRX 01). The Mazda's had rebadged Judd V10's. Thanks for sharing, i really liked this one :D
Idk if you know it, but... cause Sauber is Crossplane (uneven firing), when Jaguar is flatplane. (even firing) Uneven fire aways will sound burble. Even fire aways will sound scream. And another little secret. Inline 4 sounds same as V8. Thats why this Jaguar sounding a hayabusa in flyby. Like i said before, if you have a flatplane V8 it sound same as flatplane inline 4. (Hayabusa, or other motorcyles L4 and this car is an example) And if you have a crossplane inline 4 it will sound same as v8 crossplane. (R1 bike and Sauber is an exemple)
No. These historic cars and particularly this and C11 can put up some pretty good qualification lap times, but the difference is that they can't maintain that pace for the full race distance.
deggis4 True. TWR Jaguar , IIRC, didn't race the XJR-14 at LeMans in '91 & used their previous car, the XJR-12, mainly used in the US for IMSA GTP (as the Castrol Jaguar) because the XJR-14 would have been too fragile, even then, for 24 hours around LeMans. They were beautiful race cars for their time, especially the C11, and great sound from both
Lemans15 Yea its only when you are track side you get a full feeling of what they can do. You will probs see her a lot more as it seems Mecauto who are based near Spa are looking after her.
In terms of pure sound and bodywork these group c cars were the best ever sportscar ever made
+Ridhuan Abu Bakar Sports car? You mean race car :)
Davidovar34 my bad :p
MrVoss94 yeah just found out, it was raced in the world sportscar championship
the good old days of tobacco sponsorship.. beautiful looking
Strangely enough it looks so much more modern than the current crop of bulbous and boxy LMPs!

That beautifully jaguar group c car is just ahead of its time^-^
The engine later won the F1 championship with Schumacher in 1994.
That's a really stunning race car. Love its look and sound too. Nice video! :)
What a car!
Omg that V12 sounds redicilously Amazing😍😍😍😍
(face palm)
Brilliant. Fond memories of watching Fabi win at Silverstone 1991 and them in qualifying at Le Mans same year. Gorgeous machine.
that race car is superior beautiful !!! the sound is insane! 90s era !

Wow..what a lovely video! Thanks for sharing!!!!
skoschi Thanks! Always nice to read this sorts of comments.
Who said purple wasn't masculine?
there's the sauber C9 V8 and then this V8 .. both so similar yet so different..
Idk if you know it, but... cause Sauber is Crossplane (uneven firing), when Jaguar is flatplane. (even firing)

This car IMHO could still be raced in LMP1 today as well as the C11 Sauber Mercedes

Stunning car, hopefully she will be running at Silverstone Classic again this year. Great vid as allways :)
geordiecraig101 Thanks a lot! Yes i hope so for you! It seems to be that you are a big fan of this car?? ( profile picture )
Yea I'm a big fan of the Group C era, they are just beautiful machines with performance that will never be seen again.
geordiecraig101 Yes i fully agree! Was nice to see that this car overtook the Bentleys during there full speed laps.
Lemans15 Yea its only when you are track side you get a full feeling of what they can do. You will probs see her a lot more as it seems Mecauto who are based near Spa are looking after her.
geordiecraig101 Yes this was the first time ive seen them with this one. Hope to see it again this year!
Wasn't this designed by a certain Ross Brawn?
they dont make them like they used to. also it sounds similar to the 2014/15 f1's
Amazing ! When was it ?
Nice vid. From 2:16 to 2:29, I don't recognize that section of the circuit. Kemmel and Les Combes ?
Alexis Wajdenbaum Yes thats after eau rouge ( raddilion ). And this part is kemmel.
Way ahead of its time! And it has the success to back up its tech. The aborted C292 Mercedes took just a few styling cues from this thing.
I'm guessing it's really a Cosworth engine?
