Home for a pack of African hunting dogs is a vast plain in Zambia. But it's far from safe. They must protect their young from predators and battle their age-old enemy, the hyena.
Helicopter filming reveals a pack of African wild dogs chasing a wildebeest from start to end for the first time. They overcome their prey's greater top speed by using teamwork and strategy to wear it down.

Fun fact.. African Wild dogs have an 80% hunt success rate, making them technically earths best hunters

Not true. Sea horses have a success rate of around 90 and dragonflies have the absolutely insane 95% and hold the title of best hunter. African painted dogs hold it as the most successful mammal but there are far smaller and better hunters out there

They would need strategy. Sometimes humans think other animals rely on intelligence as much as we do XD I searched videos of zebras against wild dogs as I had a lot of curiosity about the interaction with a really powerful animal, and as expected didn't find anything. Wild dogs are afraid of the power of a zebra even though they chase them but cannot kill them, at least not safely. By the way, the dogs can easily run away if the herbivores charge them.
You would blame their intelligence but humans do that too! A few people can oppress millions.

Those are some beautiful shots, I really love the wide angle! You can really see the hunt, as opposed to American close ups and quick cuts where you are left confused. How can people dislike this video is beyond me.

I'm glad they've finally displayed the fact the Wildebeest is no real pushover. The original one they chased managed to outrun them and escape. The one that got taken down was in the wrong place at the wrong time.
